На момент установки мода Stardew Valley Expanded, я не играла в оригинальную игру уже несколько месяцев. Мне ещё предстоит полностью изучить масштабное обновление ‘всего’, которое добавило огромное количество новых предметов, посевов, одежды и исправленных багов. Если кратко описать уровень качества SVE: я не знала что было добавлено в официальном обновлении, а что модом.
Stardew Valley Expanded соответствует своему названию и делает с игрой то же самое, что и полноценные дополнения с другими играми. Мод добавляет новых персонажей, локации, события. Кажется, всё это могло бы быть в Stardew Valley изначально.
Я начинаю новую ферму и, кажется, потеряв последнюю каплю креативности, называю её Expanded farm. Хотя бы не забуду какой из сейвов с модом. После обычного введения, я сажаю выданные мне семена пастернака и сразу же направляюсь вылавливать новых горожан.
Один из первых квестов в Stardew Valley – познакомиться со всеми местными. Тем не менее, в свой первый день в SVE я сразу же теряюсь. Мод не только добавляет новые локации, но и переосмысливает существующие.
Поиск друзей
Я хожу по городу в поисках новых людей и практически сразу же теряюсь. Словно слишком короткая ступенька, прибываю в подвешенном состоянии. Захожу в дом спортсмена Alex, живущего с бабушкой и дедушкой и остолбеваю, думала это дом мэра Lewis. Пришлось сделать пару кругов по городу, чтобы понять своё местоположение и привыкнуть к новой карте.
Я представляюсь молодой девушке по имени Sophia с розовыми волосами, которая, видимо, владеет винодельней к западу от пляжа. Я встречаю Andy – местного фермера, вероятно, фанатеющего от местного JojaMart и щеголяющего в голубой Joja кепке в качестве доказательства. Рядом с бакалеей Pierre теперь большой новый дом с воротами, где живут молодой человек по имени Victor и его мать Olivia. Victor только окончил университет и пока не нашёл работу, а его мать – вышедшая на пенсию руководитель Joja Co. Ещё одна местная фермер по имени Susan живёт на севере у железнодорожных путей.
На первый взгляд все прототипы новых персонажей Stardew Valley Expanded улучшены на 11 баллов. В сравнении с основными персонажами оригинальной игры, репрезентирующими образы более вне времени, все новые герои SVE немного необычны.
У милой, но стеснительной Sophia розовые волосы и чокер. Она косплейщица и любит играть в настольные игры. Теоретически, она больше похожа на персонажа из фанфикшена. Andy – пожилой религиозный грубоватый фермер средних лет в комбинезоне. Они выглядят более современно, чем оригинальные персонажи Stardew, которые могут принадлежать к любому из последних 50 десятилетий.
Может быть персонажи чересчур колоритные (буквально, в случае Sophie), но создатели SVE приложили немало усилий, чтобы они выглядели органично. Вы наверняка не отличите их от оригинальных, если играете в Stardew впервые.
Как и другие жители студенческого возраста, Victor дружит с Sam, Sebastian и Abigail. Вижу как он зависает у бильярдного стола в Stardrop Saloon по вечерам пятницы вместе с друзьями. Andy посещает воскресную службу в церкви Yoba внутри магазина Pierre вместе с George. Как и другие местные, все новые персонажи Stardew Valley Expanded посещают фестивали.
В то время как в более масштабных RPG сложно замаскировать персонажа, добавленного модом (отсутствие озвучки легко заметить), в Stardew персонажам SVE легко влиться. Спрайты и диалоговые портреты всех новичков вписываются в Stardew, а стилистика истории соответствует оригиналу. Похоже на искусный фанфик (чем мод в некотором роде и является), где отдано должное внимание оригинальному лору.
Я как обычно разговариваю со всеми новыми неигровыми персонажами, чтобы оценить их диалоги. Приближается Egg Festival. Там мой фермер и пара других неигровых персонажей сразятся в мини игре охота за пасхальными яйцами. Дважды меня ругали за участие, ведь это не справедливо по отношению к двум детям.
Конечно, я же взрослая. Я уже думала над тем, что немного странно мне и Abigail соревноваться с маленькими детьми. За день до фестиваля Andy хмурится и говорит мне поступить правильно – дать детям победить. Уже на фестивале Victor предлагает вообще не участвовать. Блин, вот вы так возьмёте и расстроите меня? Не хочу раскрывать слишком много других классных маленьких сюрпризов, но это лишь один из примеров того, как SVE обновляет оригинальную историю.
Новые виды
Исследования заслуживают не только новые персонажи SVE. Мод также изменил все существующие в Stardew Valley карты и добавил множество новых. В Stardew Valley Expanded я не единственный фермер в городе. Там есть и другие профессионалы – Andy, Sophia и Sandy. Также практически у всех местных жителей есть садики с овощами. Однажды весной я захожу в город и оказываюсь втянута в диалог, где Leah хвастается общественным садом, которым пользуется несколько местных.
Как и в случае с персонажами, SVE изменяет существующие карты с пониманием комфорта, которого хочется игрокам. Но это делается с таким мастерством, что мод кажется оригинальной игрой. Несколько раз я натыкалась на новые короткие пути между локациями. А раньше мне приходилось долго плестись.
Пляж к югу от Pelican прежде заканчивался на западном побережье. Теперь же винодельня Sophia соединяет западную часть пляжа с лесом к югу от моей фермы. На севере убрано несколько ограждений так, что теперь можно пройти от остановки до дорожки, соединяющей мою ферму с мастерской Robin.
И то, и то маленькие неудобства, которые в ванильной Stardew Valley решаются с помощью тотемов, которые я могу изготавливать и использовать для телепортации. Тем не менее, мне больше нравится вариант, предлагаемый модом. И так не хватает времени игрового дня, чтобы выполнить всю работу, поэтому большое количество сокращённых путей уменьшает траты на ходьбу.
И это не всё, чем автор мода FlashShifter хочет ограничиться. Сейчас уже есть новые локации, дома, события и персонажи, но многое ещё впереди. На странице Nexus Mods SVE есть огромный список. Со временем создатель надеется добавить больше городов, ещё больше персонажей, фестивалей, музыки, подземелий и т.д.
Принимая во внимание сколько деталей к существующему лору добавил автор мода FlashShifter, мне не терпится увидеть Grampleton, на которого ссылались в ванильной игре, но которого никто не видел. Ещё я надеюсь увидеть продолжение истории исправления Morris, чувствую, её дорабатывают.
Stardew Valley Expanded – идеальный пример мода-расширения. Каждая деталь в нём светится любовью к оригиналу. Мод практически незаметно вкрадывается в игру, создавая что-то большее, и не крадя славу оригинала. К концу каждого Stardew дня я всё также делаю обычные дела: сею зерновые, тороплюсь закончить Community Centre, раздаю подарки своим любимым неигровым персонажам и так далее. Установив SVE, я получаю удовольствие от сюрпризов игры, в которую вложила уже немало часов.
