18 мар. 2014 в 14:23 May I ask what the difference is between Majesty Gold Edition and Majesty Gold HD? I played vanilla Majesty a lot as a kid, and was excited when I heard steam had it. When I bought it though, I got those two different versions. Can anyone explain the difference, so I can know what is going on in each? 21 мар. 2014 в 4:17 majesty gold hd, is the same good old majesty in high-definition format. this means you can play it with nowadays graphics hardware. i didn't even tried majesty gold edition myself. i doubt it will work on my machine without doing extra computer stuff. :] 27 апр. 2014 в 4:25
For me Majesty Gold works but is not stable. It crashes from time to time.
I find Majesty Gold HD more stable. Also I can use 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 resolution.
There is no reason not to use Majesty Gold HD I think. Well, perhaps if you fire it up on an old computer with old OS.
I'm on win7 64bit and an i7 processor.

I just try to play it just now. Apparently its require something call directplay.
Once I install that, it let me launch MajestyGoldHD, but immediately crash.
Anyone else get it to run?

Just to clarify: As soon as I launch it, a popup saying the game had stop working. Its simply crash. I can't even get to the title screen.
update:
Finally get it to work in windows mode. However, it stuck at lowest resolution setting. There is no other option in the resolution setting at all to choose from. Anyone have this problem?
Update 2:
Finally get it to work. I go into the game directory and run the exe directly. Once launch, I can then change the resolution. Exit the game. Now, when I launch from steam, the resolution stay at 1080, and it won't crash.

What are the list of all the AoE attacks a hero can do?
I know wizards are obvious choices for their crowd controlling abilities but what are the other abilities that can attack large crowds at once so you can use it in place of Towers possibly. Does Howl of Discord have an AoE component? I think Priestesses still have no AoE attack just a powerful life drain. Is Power Shock AoE? Thanks for the help.

I'm posting this here to help index modding questions and to avoid mine clogging up the list.
This is only my opinion feel free to disagree. Note for this list i'm heavily considering how the heroes do against monsters, other heroes, how much they cost, how much is the upkeep (sovereign spells), how often do they die, and what does the hero bring
Most people I see here arent necessarily the most hardcore fans of Majesty. To be fair, it's hard to be a hardcore fan of an over 20 year old game with only a single lukewarm sequel. And yet, we are all still here. Something about this game has a certain gravitational pull. There is something that makes Majesty different from any other game. I think one of these things is its worldbuilding. That is to say, very little of it. At no point is the world of Ardania shoved down your throat. Every building, hero.

Каким образом зарабатывать золото и пополнять казну? Примерно таким же, как и в реальной жизни – через налоги. Ваши преданные сборщики налогов готовы вытрясти пару-тройку монет буквально со всех зданий – со скромных крестьянских домишек и ферм, с таверн, с рынков (приносящих, кстати, солидную прибыль) и даже с гильдейских зданий.
Есть, конечно, свои нюансы. К примеру, гильдия воров не очень любит расставаться с награбленным и выбивать из них чеканную монету придётся отдельно, а эльфы тут так вообще устраивают Содом и Гоморру по всем канонам вархаммеровских Эльдар и напрочь отказываются платить налоги за своё казино и бордели, в результате чего в игре даже был уровень, на котором нужно было снести эти притоны длинноухих разгильдяев.
Помимо налогов, пополнять казну также можно посредством исследования карты, разрушения разного рода вражеских построек и торговли.
Разношёрстная компания
Довольно разнообразное здесь и вражеское поголовье – помимо перекрашенных в другой цвет юнитов какого-нибудь враждебного королевства, мир Ардании населён всяческой нечистью и нежитью – бехолдеры, крысы и крысолюды, зомби, энты, драконы, великаны и прочие фантастические твари. И у каждого из этих чудовищ есть свой паттерн поведения, а также слабые и сильные стороны, в результате чего в Majesty попросту нет бесполезных юнитов, ведь отравленное оружие воров вполне неплохо умерщвляет какого-нибудь крысолюда, а изгоняющая нежить молитва целительницы поможет упокоить орду поднятых каким-то некромантом скелетов.
Реставрация в Королевстве
Пускай студия Cyberlore Studios и канула в Лету в 2005 году, их детище всё ещё живо и даже обзавелось мобильной версией и HD-переизданием, вышедшим в 2012 году благодаря всем известному издательству Paradox Interactive.
Мобильная версия Majesty растеряла всякую серьёзность и стала слишком уж мультяшной
Помимо поддержки современных разрешений экрана, похорошевшей графики и вшитого дополнения The Northern Expansion, Majesty Gold HD Edition также включает две уникальные синглплеерные миссии и даже Мастерскую Steam. Модификации там, правда, не сказать что впечатляющие, но, с другой стороны – почему бы и нет?
Ну и не верьте странице игры в Steam – в Majesty есть мультиплеер и, при особом желании, вполне можно сыграть пару-тройку партий с другом, проверив тем самым, кто из вас двоих больше годится на роль монарха.
