So right now I'm working on my first ever mod and I want to make some custom events for one of the countries that I made, however, for whatever reason, the event just won't trigger at all. I want to make an event that just gives background information on your country (kinda like in Kaiserreich) and I want to make it appear between January 1-2, 1936, but it just isn't happening even after watching two different tutorial videos on YouTube and taking it step by step. Here is my line of code for the event:

If somebody can help me out with this then that would really be awesome. Thanks.

PS: when you look at the date triggers, I also did date < 1936.1.3 as well instead of date < 1936.3.1. Tbh I don't know if its set up as year, month, day or year, day, month, so some clarification on that would be helpful also.

Hearts of Iron 4 Console Commands List

Find below an updated list of all Hearts of Iron IV console commands, these are commonly referred to as cheat codes.

Type the name of a command into the search bar to instantly search our database of 172 HOI4 commands for the most recent version of the game on Steam (PC). Hover over a command in the table to view detailed argument-related help. Click on the name of a command to visit its command page, on which you can find more help including examples.

The console can be opened by pressing the ` key (usually located under ESC ). If your keyboard layout doesn't have that key, other hotkeys to open the console are SHIFT + 2 and SHIFT + 3 . For more help using the console and cheat commands, see our basics guide.

Tooltip debug mode shows information such as IDs for provinces, states, etc when you hover over them on the map. It is recommended you enable this as it is very helpful when using console commands. You can do this with the tdebug console command.

gain_xp Command

This command can be used to add experience to a Leader/General. The specified amount of experience is added to the Leader/General you currently have selected.

    • SET_RULING_PARTY X (where X can be d / f / c / n for harmony / fascist / com / neutral)
    • TAG XXX (switch to controlling country XXX)

    • ANNEX XXX (annex country XXX)
    • FOCUS.AUTOCOMPLETE (instantly finish focuses. Do while paused and turn off after to keep AI from getting)
    • FOCUS.NOCHECKS (can do focuses even if you don't meet all requirements. Do while paused and turn off after to keep AI from getting)
    • FOCUS.IGNOREPREREQUISITES (can do focuses even if its halfway down the tree. Do while paused and turn off after to keep AI from getting)
    • EVENT [event id] [XXX]（Event that caused the country to fall into XXX - get event ID from game localization and event text file）

    • GUI (Shows name of image files the mouse cursor hovers over in-game.)
    • Run Notepad++ -> Search -> Find in file.
    • Select the localisation folder of the mod as the target. (a copy of the localisation folder is downloadable above)
    • Use the results to find the appropriate files, view them with Notepad++ and get copy pasting.
