A chest implant for preventing enemy use of captured equipment. Upon the user's death, it releases powerful chemicals that dissolve gear in contact with the user's body. It doesn't damage others.

The death acidifier implant destroys all equipped weapons and apparel on the installed pawn on death, preventing them from being captured. It does not deal damage to anything else around the user on activation. It is installed on all empire soldiers to prevent weapon or armor capture. Once installed, it cannot be removed.

Analysis

A healing enhancer can be installed on pawns that are expected to get hurt a lot, usually it's the dedicated fighters and especially the brawlers. It allows them to heal injuries faster, reducing the chances that a new immediate threat will appear before the main defenders are able to fully recover from a previous encounter or a spontaneous social fight. Combined with a hospital bed, even major combat wounds will take people out of action for a much shorter time.

Healing enhancer

Releases nanomachines and healing factors that speed up wound healing. This implant only helps with physical wounds, and does nothing to combat disease or other health problems.

The Healing Enhancer gives a pawn that's been implanted with it a Natural Healing Factor of x150%, allowing them to heal wounds faster.

Analysis

Merely downing a pawn does not cause the implant to activate, allowing equipment to be captured by stripping the downed pawns. All other items carried in the dead pawn's inventory drop normally. This includes apparel and weapons not currently equipped. The death acidifier merely serves as a way to prevent players from acquiring weapons and armor that would make the early game too easy. Installing the death acidifier on your pawns has no use except for destroying equipment that could have been smelted for resources.

Death Acidifier Removal Continued [1.1+]


Adds an operation to remove death acidifiers from pawns. It's a fairly difficult operation that requires 10 medicine skill.

Death acidifiers don't do much on recruited pawns except make you really worried about all the gear you gave them disappearing if they die.

If you have the time to capture and operate on someone who has one, you also have the time to just strip them of their items.

The inability to remove them basically doesn't impact game balance, but does make pawn management a lot more finicky.

Acquisition

It can be purchased from traders and installed normally, although it is more or less useless for your colonists.

No, there is literally no value in having a death acidifier inside of a colonist. The main point of them is to reduce value that you can extract from raids by destroying weapons and armor from raiders, similar to how tainted reduced the value we could extract. Same for biolinked.

Not sure how you can remove it though. No vanilla surgery option to extract it and bionic part seems to replace it.

DD remove death acidifier


removes the death acidifier from rimworld making the royal rogue play through a more viable option.

misc notes:
you can add mid game as well as remove mid game with no more than a red (but harmless) error message. Just note that adding mid game while there are pawns with a death acidifier installed on the map will will lead to not having their death acidifier removed.

Acquisition

A healing enhancer is made with 15 Plasteel, 3 advanced components and 26,000 ticks ( 7.22 mins) of work at the fabrication bench, after the Healing Factors research is completed. The required techprint can be obtained either by trade or completing quests for the Empire. They require a crafting skill of 8.

A healing enhancer itself can be found installed in characters from Ancient shrine, and can be harvested from them without incurring a mood penalty

Notes

While the item exists and is fully functional in the base game, it does not appear in-game without the Royalty DLC installed.
