Into the Labyrinth is the final story part of Tangled Paths. It follows up after finding the other Aspect Masters and finding out where the Master of Peace is headed with the egg.

Walkthrough [ edit ]

Follow the quest pointer until you reach the entrance of the labyrinth and join the instance. To find the marker you need to travel through the tunnel past the Hidden Depths Waypoint, then head just north.

In the labyrinth, recover your friends who have been separated. There is a fast-moving Mordrem Lurcher running around that stuns and deals heavy damage. While it is possible to kill it, it will quickly respawn, so try to avoid it as much as possible by monitoring its path on the map. Other foes are littered throughout the labyrinth and should not be engaged while the lurcher is near. Any allies you rescue will engage in combat with any foes they come across.

  • Kasmeer is in the north east, not far away from the entrance. Once rescued, she will provide light in the labyrinth.
  • Marjory is directly south from the entrance. Once rescued, she will ping the remaining lost allies on the map.
  • Rox is in the south. She will provide a way to cut through weakened vines.
  • Braham is in the far north west, and will engage the lurcher, keeping it away.

Once you have found all your allies, proceed to the central area from the eastern side. The boss has two difficult attacks that should be avoided. One will give you an effect that attracts insects that will deal a lot of damage over time. Since the swarms are moving slowly, it's possible to avoid them completely if you keep running around. The other attack will randomly thrust vines from the ground dealing heavy damage. Before they appear, a green mark will appear on the ground making it possible to avoid these.

Once the boss is defeated, there is a short cut scene, and some final dialogue with your group.

None of the below achievements can be obtained on the first play through of the story on a given character, and may only be obtained on subsequent visits on that character.

Glitch Placement after the Cutscene [ edit ]

If you get placed inside the wall after the cutscene (a bug which happens very often and prevents you from finishing the mission), use the /stuck command in console. After 30 seconds of inactivity it will teleport you to the bottom of the up slope which leads back to the boss room. Use interact ('F') to enter the room.

Alternatively, you can reach the top of the wall and go back to the 'door', but you will have to navigate the obstacles "blindly" and will need extra speed or quickness to make the first jump.

Approaching Caithe Caithe: Your friends and I tracked the Master of Peace in here, but these vines erupted and separated us. Caithe: Some were dragged off and I lost them in the chaos. Caithe: You should know there's an especially large predator here with us, too.

Getting near Kasmeer Kasmeer Meade: Thank the blessed Six, a friendly face. Come to my light. Approaching Kasmeer (without Marjory) Kasmeer Meade: You found me. Have you seen the others? Last I saw them, we were being dragged away by vines. We have to find them. Speaking with Kasmeer (without Marjory) No Jory? You haven't found her yet? Oh holy Six, please watch over her. It's slow-going in this darkness. I can conjure a light source for us. Maybe that will help. Good. Let's keep moving. Approaching Kasmeer (with Marjory) Kasmeer Meade: Jory? Jory, is that you? I'm here! Speaking with Kasmeer (with Marjory) You're alive. (hic!) I was so worried. I almost didn't see you. It's so dark here. I can conjure a light source for us. Maybe that will help. Good. Getting near Marjory Marjory Delaqua: Hey! Is that you? I'm over here. See if you can get around to me. Approaching Marjory (without Kasmeer) Marjory Delaqua: We have to get to Kasmeer. Speaking with Marjory (without Kasmeer) You don't know where Kasmeer is? What about the others? My heart is pounding. All these vines. It's going to be okay. Breathe. We'll find everyone. Okay. I'm okay. If I can just concentrate, I can sense life force. It's not strong or reliable, but maybe I can get us to Kasmeer and the others before it's too late. Work that necro magic. We'll do this together. Approaching Marjory (with Kasmeer) Marjory Delaqua: Kasmeer! Speaking with Marjory (with Kasmeer) Aren't you all a sight for sore eyes? I didn't know what to think. All these vines. It's going to be okay. We're together, and we'll get the others. When I concentrate, I can sense Braham's and Rox's life forces. Getting near Rox Rox: Who's there? Boss, is that you? Approaching Rox (without Braham) Rox: You see Braham? You'd think he'd be as noisy as a buck in a bramble patch, big as he is. Speaking with Rox (without Braham) Hey. We got some work to do. Braham's still lost. I haven't seen him since the vines snatched us. Don't worry. We'll find him. If only we could get through these vines. I've noticed some patterns in the vines—places where they're weaker than others. If we come across a spot like that, I think I can tear them down. Good to know. All right, stick close. Let's go find Braham. Approaching Rox (with Braham) Rox: Good to see ya. Braham, you're alive. Good. Speaking with Rox (with Braham) Rox: Aw yeah! No stupid plants are gonna get the best of us. Good to see you in one piece, boss. You too, Rox. Braham: Hey, what about me? What am I? Chopped spinach? She's glad to see you too, but we can't stop for a reunion. Rox: The master is still out there somewhere. I thought I heard him, but I couldn't find a way through. The vines there looked weak though. I think I can tear them down. No time to dawdle. Let's go.

Getting near Braham Braham Eirsson: I thought you were dead. Can you get to me? I'll stay put until you do. Approaching Braham (with Rox) Braham Eirsson: Glad you're here. Now we can really do some damage. Approaching Braham (without Rox) Braham Eirsson: Thanks for the save. Where's Rox? Gotta find her before she gets herself in too much trouble. Speaking with Braham I haven't been ambushed that bad since Scarlet knocked me on my rump. You haven't found the Master of Peace? We need to keep moving. You ready? Sure. But we need to keep a watchful eye. There's a Mordrem here as mean I've ever seen. If it catches up to us, I'll hold it off. Don't fight. Just run. We'll get through this together. You fight. I'll search.

General dialogue [ edit ]

Interacting with the weakened vines without Rox Caithe: We may be able to break through these vines. Maybe one of your friends can help us. Maybe so. When Rox cuts down weakened vines Rox: Stand back. I've got what we need to cut through. No telling what's on the other side, though, so stay alert. After defeating the Mordrem Predator Master of Peace: Quickly. (cough) Kneel beside me. I have. (cough) I'm dying. Master of Peace: You're our only hope now. Listen. closely. Master of Peace: I have something. I can no longer protect. You must. understand. its importance to Tyria's future. Marjory Delaqua: The egg. In-game cutscene Caithe: No time to explain. Marjory Delaqua: Caithe! Wait! What do you think you're doing? Talking to Rox The Master of Peace is dead. Oh no. And Caithe is gone. So is the egg. I swore. Marjory: I saw Caithe run off with the egg. Okay. We'll find her. She's sylvari. So? What are you trying to say? Nothing. I just. Why would she take off with it? She wouldn't be the first sylvari we've known who— She did it to protect the egg, I'm sure. I'll thank her when we catch up. Rox: We'd better hurry after her before the trail goes cold. Braham and Kas, stay here and make sure the Master gets a proper send-off. Braham: We can do that. And then, we'll meet you somewhere later? Where? In the Grove. Whether we find her or not, that's our next stop. I don't know. She can be difficult to read. That's what I mean. How well do you know her? I know she's risked her life on many occasions for me and for Tyria. Rox: We don't have time for this. We need to figure out how we're going to find her. Rox, Jory, come with me. Kas, Braham, take care of the Master of Peace. Braham: We can do that. And then, we'll meet you somewhere later? Where? In the Grove. Whether we find her or not, that's our next stop. After talking to your allies Kasmeer Meade: The Pale Tree? She's been in and out of consciousness ever since the Shadow of the Dragon attacked the summit. Marjory Delaqua: Who knows Caithe better? Without consulting the Pale Tree, we can only guess at Caithe's motives. Rox: I'll send the word to the Grove and find out her condition. Braham Eirsson: We should return the Master of Peace to his people. Marjory Delaqua: I'll prepare him for travel.

My story [ edit ]

We followed the trail of symbols left by the Master of Peace across the Silverwastes to a tangled maze of thorny vines. Unfortunately, Mordrem had beaten us there.

We fought long and hard to protect the Master of Peace, but he was mortally wounded in the battle. His dying request was that I safeguard the egg he had taken from Glint's lair, but Caithe inexplicably disappeared with it.

1. Troll Runestone Hero Point (Tangled Descent)

5. Jellyfish Grotto Hero Point (К северу от Deeproot Sink)

9. Mushroom Spore Cloud Hero Point (К северу от Rata Novus Lane)

Survive the Tangled Labyrinth

The Tangled Labyrinth is patrolled by glowing dogs called Bioluminescent Lurchers. These will insta-kill you.

To avoid certain death, touch one of the big flowers which are marked with an orange gear on your mini-map. This gives you the Cold Light buff, and turns you into a sort of flying, glowing plant, which the Bioluminescent Lurchers ignore.

NOTE: Gliding and mounts are both available in Tangled Labyrinth. Use these to your advantage.

Head to the center of the Labyrinth, where you will find a large chest. This chest opens with the Greater Key of Nightmares.

Tangled Labyrinth Meta Event

The Labyrinth also has a four-tiered event chain which consists of running around the Labyrinth opening the small Nightmare Chests in order to get Key Fragments. These events require a great deal of coordination and map-wide effort to complete, and thus are virtually never done.


I found Tangled Depths insufferable and confusing until I did the meta a couple times. Once you realize that the underground can basically be divided into the four lanes (and their adjoining areas) the whole map makes a lot more sense.

Tangled Depths remain one of my favorite maps in Gw2, for me it is the most fun, crazy, and challenging map to explore. I know a lot of people hate it and avoid going to it when they can, and I was too at first but I grew to really liking it after hunting all of the achievements in TD.

TLDR: TD is challenging and pushes the limit of true explorer, you should give it a shot!
