Исследуемая зона, также часто упоминаемая просто как "зона" или "карта", это разновидность локации. Зона включает несколько более мелких областей, а несколько зон образуют регион.

Каждая зона имеет свой собственный комплекс мероприятий и задач. В дополнение к динамическим событиям, протекающим в ее пределах, каждая зона содержит пять видов мероприятий, засчитывающихся при исследовании мира:

На мировой карте отмечен прогресс персонажа в каждой исследуемой зоне. После завершения исследования карты, персонаж получает в награду несколько предметов и материалов для крафта, опыт, и монеты. Это достижение также отмечается Tyrian Explorers Society (Обществом Исследователей Тирии), которые присылают вам письмо с признанием ваших заслуг.

Каждая исследуемая зона имеет рекомендованный уровень сложности, выраженный рекомендованным уровнем, который персонаж должен достичь прежде, чем отправится в нее. Монстры и задания сердец славы, а также динамические события в области будут лежать в пределах указанных уровней. Динамическая регулировка уровня снизит уровень персонажей, если он превышает рекомендованный уровень области. Рекомендованный уровень, как правило, лежит в диапазоне 5ти.

Dry Top is an explorable zone in the Maguuma Wastes. As far as anyone knows, it has been cut off (more or less) for a long time. The arid wastes of Dry Top eventually give way to the Maguuma Jungle to the west. There has been a great deal of seismic upheaval in the region since it was last charted.

Everything in Dry Top is as harsh as the climate. There are elementals, called dust mites by the locals, and a local type of devourer.
