Hota d6 pro обзор

Обновлено: 02.07.2024

Hey guys, I bought this charger. It wasn't sent to me for review. There is no incentive or interest in making it look good. I spent my own money after doing a lot of research. It is what I believe to be the most powerful AC compact dual channel charger option at the moment.

This is the HOTA D6+ dual channel charger. I was about to buy the popular Hobbymate D6 Duo Pro (also HOTA D6 Duo Pro) until I discovered that the D6 Plus had been released just a few months ago.

The main benefit of it is that it offers 300W when powered by A/C, where the D6 Duo does 200W. It's a little bigger, than the D6 Duo, but another plus to me is the metal frame instead of plastic.

I made a video review of it for my YouTube channel. I'll post it below. I'd love to hear you guys' opinions on it and maybe if there is something else out there that I missed. I think I made the right choice. I paid $129.99 for it. And that's the same price as the D6 Duo Pro generally goes for. Oh yeah, it also can do 650w just like the Duo Pro, when powered by a capable DC power supply.

I can't stand long videos as a medium for information, so if someone who enjoys it could summarize in a text post, I'd be grateful, and I'm sure that would be appreciated by others too. If you are uninterested in the video you may feel free to ignore.

I mean, I kinda get it. It's a long video. It ended up longer than I had planned. But it took a lot of time to make it and I wasn't about to reshoot it to shorten it. That all said, I plan on making a text version to post on my website. Just have to make the time for it if I see enough interest in it.

The Cliff Notes is it's more powerful than the D6 Duo Pro on A/C, a tad bigger and it has a metal body. It also uses the typical 4 button array instead of the scroll wheel. Apart from that, it's very similar to the D6 Pro.

Do not apologize for other peoples laziness, I watched your vid and subscribe to your channel. I like the chainsaw and the cat, I was hoping the cat was going to open the box.

But yes, I like some of these newer chargers, they seem to be showing the big names how it is done. For me this charger is good for the home, it is a little large for my liking and I would prefer the D6 Pro.

How did you find the accuracy?

I don't post on rcgroups often (Jeez I realized I have only done 3 posts in 12 years ). I race RC cars, so tend to go to more specialized forums. However I needed an AC/DC charger as my kids come to race with me now, charging logistics are becoming more complex and I am growing tired of carrying my two tried-and-trued ichargers (106, 208) and a 24A PS for years now and needed something a bit more compact, but that packed some punch.

I got my D6+ yesterday - I ordered it after I saw the above video as resources are scarce on this piece of gear on the internet. So @Pinch Tune, thanks so much for doing this (even though, I agree, the video could be shortened a bit )

I played with the Hota a bit yesterday evening and the few checks I did are going in the right direction. Accuracy is OK (or at least very close to the ichargers), which is critical for RC Cars as we tend to overcharge on purpose to squeeze the last bit of voltage from those lipos sometimes.

Couple of questions though for those who have more experience on this charger
- no wireless cell phone charging on this one, correct?
- has the android app finally been released? (couldn't find one)
- anyone tried hooking up a PC via the micro-USB in the back - anything interesting there?
- Has anyone played with the "power supply" mode - does it allow to have the charger crank out some amps at the back when running on AC?

Thanks guys,
Paul

Did you ever do this?

I am not familiar with the related chargers so comparisons aren't all that useful.

Most interested in accuracy, build quality and longevity.

Hi, I just realized I missed some of the replies.

I now have this D6+ and also a D6 Pro. So I can compare both.

The D6+ is seems pretty accurate. Mine seems to charge ever-so-slightly higher. For example, my iCharger 306b leaves my packs at 4.18 or so per cell. It does take a lot longer to balance cells when parallel charging. My D6 Pro does around the same. My D6+ however, does about 4.21v per cell for some reason. I do prefer that however, since most racers overcharge anyway. I don't consider 4.21 to be too much.

I find both the D6+ and D6 Pro to take about the same to balance. A little faster than my iCharger. I still think the iChargers are a bit superior. But of course, they cost more.

I got the D6 Pro for the same reason. I like my D6+ at home, but for races I take the D6 and charge off a generator. I've also charged form the A/C port on my Tacoma's bed.

Thanks for the feedback.

No, there is no wireless cell phone charging on this one. I haven't looked for the app since I made the video, but that got me thinking. I'll have to look.

The power supply thing is really a non-issue. I run my iCharger on DC. It's just a matter of picking a good power supply with some headroom. I prefer 24v supplies as they are more efficient. But a nice and small 12v supply would do the trick as 650W isn't really a lot.
