Mount&Blade: Warband – Viking Conquest Reforged Edition – это обновление Mount&Blade: Warband, содержащее множество нового контента и исправление ошибок предыдущих версий игры и DLC.
Игра поставила своей целью соблюсти не только атмосферу, но и историчность эпохи. Темные Века Британии показаны через аутентичные культурные особенности и кинематографические сцены высокой детализации. Окружающий мир постоянно изменяется, в нём происходят события, имеющие реальную историческую подоплеку, и случайно генерируемые происшествия, на вероятность которых прямо влияют решения, принятые игроком.
Режим истории вовлекает пользователя в запутанный сюжет с политическими заговорами, выбором и его последствиями, предательством – осмелившемуся вступить на этот путь предстоит пережить не только моменты величия и могущества, но и падения. Сопровождать главного персонажа в его приключениях могут более 15 вероятных спутников, обладающих уникальными характерами и особенностями.
Битвы и сражения имеют массу характерных отличий между друг другом. Это могут быть нападения с целью грабежа, налеты на вражеские деревни или же масштабные конфликты между двумя армиями и даже морские баталии.
В игре также реализована религиозная система с двумя вероисповеданиями: христианством и Старыми Богами. Религия влияет не только на отношение избранных спутников с главным героем, но и может стать важным фактором при общении с другими правителями или с подчиненным населением.
