Transient curse dark souls что это

Обновлено: 04.07.2024

Limb of the victim of a curse. Temporary curse allows engagement with ghosts.
The only way to fight back against ghosts, who are cursed beings, is to become cursed oneself.
The safest method, however dreadful, is to cut off an arm of the dead.

Transient Curse is a Consumable in Dark Souls.

Transient Curse Usage

  • Lets you interact with ghosts for a limited time, since you must be cursed to hit them.
  • Ghosts are encountered in New Londo Ruins.
  • The effect lasts for 5 minutes.

Transient Curse Location

  • Sold by the Female Undead Merchant for 4,000 souls a piece. (Only 4 in stock.)
  • Sold by the Ingward for 1,000 souls a piece. (Patch 1.05)
  • Dropped by ghosts in New Londo Ruins.
  • Treasure x2: On corpse in a vase, before the rickety bridge to New Londo Ruins.
  • Treasure x2: On corpse in a vase, behind a wall at the base of the first staircase in New Londo Ruins.
  • Treasure x2: On corpse, behind screaming ghost close to the first fog-door.
  • Drops from Banshee (New Londo Ruins, 5% chance).
  • Drops from Ghost (New Londo Ruins, 5% chance).
  • Drops from Vagrants, specifically the White Good Vagrant. (Depths, Undead Burg, Undead Parish, Painted World of Ariamis, Darkroot Garden, Darkroot Basin, The Catacombs, Tomb of Giants, The Great Hollow, Ash Lake, Demon Ruins, Lost Izalith, Sen's Fortress, Blighttown, Anor Londo, New Londo Ruins Lower, New Londo Ruins Upper, The Duke's Archives, Crystal Cave, Northern Undead Asylum, Royal Wood and Kiln of the First Flame)

Notes

  • Transient Curse is a Self Buff and interferes with other such buffs (i.e. Great Magic Barrier, Green Blossom, Power Within, etc.). While active, a player is unable to cast other Self Buffs and vice versa.

It would've been cooler if you actually had to get cursed to fight them

22 Feb 2021 04:28

If you want to kill Ingward, don't forget to get these from him as many as possible.

10 Apr 2020 08:54

is there anything else that can hit the ghosts other than using transient curse or the cursed greatsword of artorias?

04 Apr 2020 19:58

Can sb help me ? . I don't have any transient curse's left. Because the merchanter is not selling it any more and i used all the free ones . So far i killed siff and unlikely i created greatesword of artoris (not the cursed one) . The only merchanter that sells curse's is in new londo but i can't get ther withought dieing . Can i reforge this greatesword and get Boss soul back ?

Transient Curse will also interfere with Great Magic Barrier. So either run like hėll or wait for it to Expire before dropping into the abyss.

24 Sep 2019 10:07

what must i do i don`t have Transient Curse stuff and That female undead don`t have

23 Dec 2018 00:02

I think it should be noted that this counts as a personal buff and will stop you from casting the Pyromancy: Power Within. So when you're standing ready to drop into The Abyss wondering why you can't cast Power Within, you'll have to wait out the Transient Curse.

Enemies [ ]

Enemies that inflict Curse are encountered seldom throughout the game, but when they are, care should be taken.

Curse (Dark Souls)

Cursed Statue.jpg

Curse is a negative status effect in Dark Souls.

Defense [ ]

Curing [ ]

Equipment [ ]

Armor [ ]

Most armor sets offer very little or no Curse Resist at all, especially the Starting Armor Sets. However, as the game progresses more become available.

Light Armor Sets offer some of the best defense against Curse, most notably the Antiquated Set and the Dingy Set.

Medium Armor Sets are typically not a good choice for Curse Resist, however, the Paladin Set offers exceptional resistance to Curse.

Heavy Armor Sets offer some of the worst choices, but of them Havel's Set offers the highest Curse Resist.

Rings [ ]

The Cursebite Ring significantly raises resistance against Curse.

Shields [ ]

The Bloodshield is the only shield that offers resistances to negative status effects, and is a good choice when facing enemies that inflict Curse.

curse | Dark Souls Wiki

Curse is a gameplay mechanic in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered. It is a debuff status effect and one of the auxiliary special effect and a damage type.

General Information for Curse:

  • Allow the players to damage Ghosts without using a Transient Curse and block attacks from ghosts when using two-handed or left-handed cursed weapon.
  • Curse is a status effect (with a build-up bar similar to poison and bleed effects) that instantly kills the player when filled. As they die, their corpse slowly becomes petrified.
Benefits of being Cursed

The player is able to hit ghosts, in New Londo Ruins, while being Cursed. Note that this can also be done with the Transient Curse item.

Effects of being Cursed
  • A skull will replace the Humanity counter on the HUD.
  • Unlike other status effects, players remain Cursed even after reviving.
  • While being Cursed, their health points will also be cut in half.
  • Curse won't stack, so being cursed again will kill the player, but the health will stay at half. (patch 1.05)
  • The player can still collect Humanity, but Reversing hollow effect and Kindling at Bonfires is unavailable.
  • Cursed players can be summoned as a Phantom, but can't summon or be invaded since they cannot revive.
  • Getting Cursed while playing as a phantom in an other world will not curse the phantom, but it will kill them.
  • The most common way to remove the curse status is by using a Purging Stone. can be purchased from Oswald of Carim in the Gargoyle Belltower for 3,000 souls or from The Undead Merchant (female) in the aqueduct between Firelink Shrine and The Depths for 6,000 souls. , who resides in New Londo Ruins, will cure the players Curse for a fee of 1 humanity, but getting to him can be a pain.
  • Some enemies, such as the clam shells in Ash Lake and Crystal Cave, can also drop Purging Stones. gives you 2 purging stones for 1 Cracked Red Eye Orb. You can obtain 4 Cracked Red Eye Orbs from Firelink Shrine. Instead of riding the elevator up to Undead Parish, simply fall down the shaft and it'll be located in one of the chests.
  • If you are cursed and have not yet rung the bell in the Undead Parish, Snuggly represents your easiest method of reversing the curse.
Prevention
  • The player's Curse Resistance will increase with the amount of Humanity held, softcap at 10 and hardcap at 30.
  • The Bloodshield and Cursebite Ring will increase the players Curse Resistance.
  • Wearing armor with high curse resistance such as the Dingy Set, Antiquated Set or Paladin armor.
  • The Resist Curse spell will remove the curse buildup, but some curse resistance is still needed to use it effectively.
  • Wearing the Rare ring of Sacrifice will prevent you from becoming cursed after death.
  • The Sanctus shield and the Greatshield of Artorias both have 100% curse reduction, but some attacks have AoE/mist properties which can not be blocked.

Weapons, Items with Auxiliary Effect, Curse:

More Defense against Curse:

  • Armors
    • Light Armors
    • Lord's Blade Set
    • Antiquated Set
    • Maiden's Set
    • Big Hat's Set
    • Pyromancer Set
    • Great Lord Set
    • Black Set
    • Black Sorcerer Set
    • Gwyndolin Moonlight Set
    • Hollow Theif Set
    • Chester's Set
    • Crimson Set
    • Witch Set
    • Xanthous Set

    Enemies who can Curse:

    Notes:

    • If the game is played online, you can see other players' bodies that have been cursed in the same location.
    • Curse was a stacking effect prior to Patch 1.05. The first Curse reduced your health to 1/2, the second to 1/4, and finally the third to 1/8.
    • If a phantom gets cursed in a host's world, the curse does not carry over to the phantom's world.

the FaP ring doesn't get it's health boost cut by Curses

Hello all! Currently there roughly only 3 Armors listed with Curse Resistance I will be listing ALL Armors that have Curse resistance, however I do not know how to link pages through the Phone to said proper page. If a member were to know how to link pages, when I am finished I would greatly appreciate it!

With the cursebite ring, sealer set, bloodshield, and crown of the dark sun, curse ceases to exist as a threat since the only enemies that do it suck at any other damage

    19 Oct 2020 16:56

The curse status in 1.0 actually stacked four times, not three. Just verified it. The fourth level of curse reduces the player's health total down to 1/16th of the original value.

I would rather be impotent for a year than having to deal with this.

do the curse weapons (ghost blade, etc) curse enemy players in pvp?

    16 Apr 2020 10:36

I got cursed as Phantom. Back in my world I was cursed. Probably a cheater. Didn't see, how he killed us. Dark Saitama was his name. Right before the Gargoyles. Curse him.

    31 Mar 2020 01:02

Just shutdown your ps3 the instant you are cursed and you won't be when you reload

    10 Mar 2020 12:54

Kill those stupid Basilisks with fire. . No, I'm serious. Throw fire at them; they hate it.

I wonder if the curse status is supposed to be a more potent version of the curse of the undeath that is ironically easier to be rid of(within the first games era anyway). because the body instantly turns to stone(actually fast acting decomposing?), and then bars you from accessing your humanity for kindling and turning human, and it literally makes you lose half health due to extreme decay(which incidentally death + the curse status in DS2 also does). Then again, it could also be the undead curse reviving you at a fire at a point just before the full petrification curse took effect, and you needing to rip some of your body off to be mobile again. . or is it just a bunch of different curses mashed together in a package of one that petrifies you, one that rips your spirit out of your body(thus allowing you to interact with ghosts + half HP if you view it as like being in soul form in demon's souls), and one that makes all humanity trapped in your body and inaccessable until you can lift the curse (thus reclaim your old shell when it is revived by the curse of the undead proper)?

    Effect [ ]

The player's health will be reduced to half of its maximum capacity (before bonuses such as from the Ring of Favor and Protection are figured in) and it becomes impossible to kindle Bonfires or to use humanity for reverse hollowing. However, cursed players may attack the Ghosts and Banshees in the New Londo Ruins without having to use a Transient Curse.

    General information [ ]

    Cursed Effect.jpg

When assaulted by those who cause Curse buildup, the Curse meter gradually fills in a similar manner to that of Poison. Once filled, instant death occurs, leaving behind a statue, and the player returns to the last bonfire rested at.

The player character may become cursed during their death animation if they die of a different cause just before the Curse buildup meter fills. This is most likely to happen while fighting Seath the Scaleless, but the timing required is very specific. Wearing a regular Ring of Sacrifice in this situation has absolutely no effect as the death is retroactively considered to be death by Curse by the game.

New Londo Ruins | Dark Souls Wiki

New Londo Ruins is a location in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered. The flooded ruins of this city of the tainted are located directly under Firelink Shrine and they're plagued by cursed beings that require a special weapon or a transient curse in order to hit them. There is no bonfire in the area and it serves as the gateway to The Abyss, once you lower the water level.

Helpful tip before proceeding : the area being dark (especially after draining the water), setting the game's brightness to the maximum will help you figure out the layer of the map, and will allow you to detect secrets, shortcuts and ambushes.

    New Londo Ruins Walkthrough

Upper New Londo Ruins can be accessed immediately upon your arrival at the Firelink Shrine but it's advised to wait until you need to kill its boss before you venture in too far. From the Firelink bonfire, face the Crestfallen Warrior (or where he used to be) and look to the left for a staircase leading down. Bypass Anastacia's cell and find another staircase to descend to reach the elevator that brings you to New Londo. NOTE: This elevator will not reset if you die; you'll have to pull the elevator call lever to get it back up (so don't fall!)

    • Witch Beatrice (Summonable Phantom)

    Bosses

    Items

    Weapons, Spells & Armor

    Enemies

    • Hollow - they do not attack you unless provoked.
    • Crestfallen Warrior (Hollowed NPC) - appears in the opening section of the area (before you cross the plank bridges) as a hollow if you talk to him after Frampt appears in the Firelink ruins.
    • Ghost - floating ghosts with two sickles. They cannot be hurt or blocked unless using a cursed weapon (Jagged Ghost Blade, Greatsword of Artorias (cursed version made from Straight Sword +10), the player is cursed or under the influence of a Transient Curse. They can also hide in the walls and can flank you if you're not careful.
    • Banshee - similar to the ghosts, but with a little more HP and a lightning spell. You can usually kill them before they attack you because they stop to scream when they see you.
    • Darkwraith Knight - Once you access Lower New Londo, these powerful enemies will be down there waiting for you. They hit hard and can perform quick combos, but are slow to turn and are thus susceptible to backstabs.
    • Mass of Souls- Also residing in Lower New Londo, these enemies are just giant blobs with faces on them. They have a lot of HP and attack by vomiting on you (a thick goo that slows your movement and slowly drains health. It also reduces the amount of HP your estus flask heals) or hitting you with their spear-like tongue. They can also create Wisps. They do not respawn once killed.
    • Wisp - Spawned by the Mass of Souls, these disembodied floating heads will appraoch you once you get close and will then violently explode when they get in close proximity to you.
    • Vagrants

Full New Londo Ruins Upper Walkthrough

    Entryway

Mad World - Once you've arrived on the Firelink elevator, go down the stairs - behind the first flight of stairs, to the left, you should find a corpse with a Soul of a Nameless Solider - until you reach an open area, through a doorway on your left. This area is filled with Hollows that have gone crazy and are not interested in picking a fight, so you can ignore them if you want but seeing as they are easy and the only targets for souls in this area, you may want to whack a few on your way through.

Convenience Is Key - Go to the right first and you'll notice the doorway that leads to the Valley of Drakes; you would've come from that doorway when passing through from Blighttown, to Firelink Shrine, earlier in the game. Go past the door toward the cliff to find a Hollow laying on his side. Proceed to the left of him, down the staircase to find Blacksmith Rickert of Vinheim - he's behind some bars on the left at the end of the stairs. This blacksmith upgrades weapons to Magic and Enchanted status (if you have the right embers) and also sells a Catalyst for 500 souls, Soul Arrow for 2000 souls and Heavy Soul Arrow for 4000 souls.

Goodbye Old Friend - Head back to the open area of crazy Hollows to find a doorway, opposite to the one you exited from, leading further into the area. Just inside this doorway you'll find the Estoc and further in you'll fight a hollowed NPC, the Crestfallen Warrior, if you rang the two Bells of Awakening and then talked to him back at Firelink - as sad as it may be, he's worth 1000 handy souls and can be defeated without too much effort.

Crossover - Continue on and you'll come a short set of steps that lead to a small circular platform; here you'll find a corpse in a large pot that will drop 2 Transient Curses - these allow you to defend against and attack the ghostly inhabitants of the ruins ahead, but the effect doesn't last forever once activated (Tip: Assign this item to one of your item slots to keep track if the item's activated or not; the greyed-out icon is an indicator that it is in fact, active.). Cross the two wooden bridges, equipping the Transient Curse before stepping off the second. Look on your right as you cross the second bridge and you'll notice an item out in the water, we'll get that soon.

    Watery Area

As you step off the second bridge, you'll start to see the ruins you're about to traverse in the distance and keep your eyes peeled for the two figures slowly floating toward you - these are Ghosts, and here's what you should know about them, before proceeding:

    1. They are floating apparitions of the previous inhabitants of New Londo, before it was flooded.
    2. They cannot be hit and you cannot defend against them unless you are either cursed, affected by a Transient Curse, or specific weapons.
    3. They have the ability to pass through walls and floors to attack you; don't rush into a seemingly empty area, and be surprised to find yourself surrounded.
    4. They are equipped with two jagged knives.
    5. They have some quick close-combat slashing moves, and a longer range grab attack. These can be countered by:
      1. Running straight at the Ghost performing it.
      2. Run/roll out of the way of their knives.

Once cursed - whether by your own hand or through an unfortunate event - you should be able to defend against the attacks of the two Ghosts. Turn right, from where you entered, to find a ruined walkway with windows. Entering it will lead you to a thin walkway, hidden just under the water, which once crossed will spawn a few Ghosts around you. Luring them back to an area with more land for you to maneuver around and then coming back for the Fire Keeper Soul, is probably the best strategy to execute.

After collecting the Fire Keeper Soul, head back across the bridge to the right side of that area and look behind a wall, close to the edge to find a pot with a corpse holding another two Transient Curses (Note: Once you lower the water level, this will become a shortcut to access the Lower New Londo Ruins).

Head to the very left side and climb the proceeding stairs. At the top you will see a bridge that you have to cross over - but because this is Dark Souls, move to the right of the platform and undo the Ghost's plan to ambush you on the bridge by triggering it early. Having dealt with the ghost, deal with the one that spawns at the doorway leading to the bridge. Cross the bridge and be ready to fight a bunch of Ghosts - but first, be sure you aren't surprised by the one waiting at the end of the bridge.

      First Square Tower

Traps - Including the - clearly a bait - Ghost at the doorway on the other side of bridge, there are a total of 6 ghosts in that room; one at every exit and another 3 that come in through the walls and floor. So unless you are super confident with your combat and rolling skills, you can spring the trap by sprinting in and then immediately out, the way you came. If you're quick, you'll step right over the Ghost that means to box you in, but you should simply take this one out should she manage to get in the way and run back to the bridge. Doing this properly will bring the fight to the bridge, and as a result, the Ghosts attack you more sequentially than simultaneously.

Continue through the only other door in the room to arrive at a spiral staircase, that will take you down one floor. Straight ahead on the ledge is a corpse with the Parrying Dagger, but before picking it up, you should be able to see the arms of the Ghost poking out, next to the corpse. You can attack it at this point, then pick your loot.

Wailing - Head back to take the only other corridor and you should arrive in a room with a fog gate on the right, with a Ghost waiting to rise out the floor in front of it, and a Banshee around the corner ahead, on the right guarding another two Transient Curses. (Note: Banshees are like Ghosts but have a little more HP, and a ranged lightning attack. Good way to tell it's a Banshee is the red on their face, and the fact they stop to scream when they see you, which makes killing them a little bit easier.

      Catwalk

Fog Gate - Through the fog gate you'll climb a staircase that will lead you to an elevated catwalk. Directly in front of the stairs you just climbed, be sure to kick the ladder here and go down. There are two Ghosts down here behind the pillars on the left that would attack you through the floor as you walked above, so getting rid them first is ideal.

Once back at the top of the ladder you'll see a corpse holding a Soul of a Nameless Soldier at the end of the ledge directly next to the ladder; watch out as there is a Ghost atop the archways, leading to the corpse with the loot. Head back and continue right.

Ghostbuster - At the end of the catwalk, you will see a second square tower ahead and as you walk around the tower towards the doorway leading in, look down and to your left into the water. The instant you see Ghosts moving towards you, head back up onto the catwalk. Two Ghosts will come through the walls of the tower to attack you, but if you back up just enough you should pull only these two - leaving four more in the water. Pick off the remaining ones in the water before going inside the tower -easiest to do so with a ranged weapon.

      Second Square Tower

The Coast Isn't Really Clear - Once the GHOST IS CLEAR, head inside to find a door with a staircase to the left and another door ahead that goes into a room, that leads into another room (doorway at the corner on the left) containing a Banshee and another blatant trap. Ignore the stairs for the moment, enter the other door and a strategy to be employed can be to target the Banshee quick before the rest of the Ghosts appear; once the Banshee is dead, head back outdoors to lure the remaining Ghosts for easier dispatching.

Unlocking Doors - In the room where the failed trap was originally set, find a ladder in the fireplace that will take you to the roof to meet Ingward. He sells Transient Curses, the Resist Curse spell and can also cure your cursed status. If you acquired Lordvessel at the end of Anor Londo, he'll give you the Key to the Seal when you talk to him, if not, you can take it by forcing his hand through death; although, you may want to purchase all items you need from him before killing him, if you choose to do so.

Head back to the trap room, out the first door and turn left. Follow the path until you find a hole in the wall, with a corpse holding a Soul of a Proud Knight sat next to it. You can jump through the whole to land on the stairs you ignored earlier. Continue downwards into the corridors and take the second doorway to your left, out onto a ledge to find a corpse with loot, which will inevitably spawn a Ghost. Defeat it to safely loot the Cursebite Ring from the corpse and then go back to the doorway you passed by earlier and go right once you get outside.

Rare Ring - Head left to the little structure holding a Green Titanite Shard - as you may have guessed, wherever there is loot on this map, a Ghost not too far off. Now head up the other stairs, picking up the Large Soul of a Nameless Solider on the way, and continue up the second set of stairs (ignoring the straight passage momentarily) to find Humanity at the end of the ledge. When you head back, you should see a tower's roof top to your left, you can jump onto it and collect the Rare Ring of Sacrifice. Once you get it, you can either: jump through one of the windows to land in or near the room with the ladder that goes up to Ingward, or try jumping back onto the same ledge you jumped from as shown below. Either way, you'll have to make your way back to the lower ledge and continue to the passage we ignored earlier, to arrive at a door.

      Spiral Staircase Tower

Down To The Lower - In here is a spiral staircase. Head up the stairs and take the only door to find a corpse with the Composite Bow and some Large Arrows. Head back and all the way down the stairs, to find a locked gate next to a lever which can be opened with the Key to the Seal you got from Ingward. This gate leads to a small open area, with only a large round lever; activating this lever triggers a cinematic that shows the water of New Londo Ruins being drained out to the Valley of Drakes, which also opens a shortcut between the two locations. With the water drained, you may now pull the lever in the room to call the elevator and continue down, into the Lower New Londo Ruins.
