The Basics of Gearing Up at Level 75

Complete the Onslaught expansion to receive a full set of item-rating 268 gear

Whenever you get a piece of gear with a higher item-rating, equip it even if it is not your ideal piece of gear to increase your item-rating, working towards a 306 item rating

Do content including Flashpoints, Operations, PvP, Story Chapters, Onderon and Mek-Sha Dailies and Conquest to get randomized gear based on your item-rating

Get additional gear from Renown Crates which you earn over time by doing any type of content that earns xp

Buy all five tiers of the Improved Renown Experience character unlock to gain renown crates faster

Buy your set bonus shells or tactical items with Tech Fragments

Thanks for the rundown. Helpful for newbies like me who are still confused with how things work in this game.

Deconstructing any of the 210/252 gear gives me low-level (below lvl 10) crafting items rather than tech frags.

4 авг. 2020 в 6:16 well I just reach lvl 75 and I very very exciting
and now I can loot lvl 75 equipment
I don't know where vendor sell lvl 75 modification for my weapon
or just only drop 4 авг. 2020 в 6:47 Drop, crafting and GTN. They cannopt be bought via NPC vendors. 4 авг. 2020 в 8:35

In the supplies section, you can find a renown vendor that sells Unknown gears for Tech Frag, next to the room of the 75 set and tactical vendors. The Unknown gears are guaranteed to be above your average item rating and at least 270. You can buy individual modifications, but buying parts (gloves, belt etc) is generally more cost effective in boosting your item rating.

There will be drops tiers that will really take time to break through on drops alone, such as 276, 286. Use this vendor to replace your lowest gear and jump to the next tier.

man I see in Cartel Market
some modification up to 330 (yellow one , I think that is legendary)
I think they drop in high difficulty

Quite frankly, don't buy it. Run Flashpoints and just loot it.

When you mouse-over your character, you will see the level of your items on avarage. You may expect gear of that and slightly higher quality to drop when you run Flashpoint. Equip it and keep running, you will loot better and better equipment.

Alternatively you can of course do PvP.

4 авг. 2020 в 9:34 Alternatively you can just buy everything on the GTN. This will allow you to skip both gearing and gear optimization phases at the same time. The perfect set of 306 mods will cost you about 300 million credits though.

So, essentially, you're supposed to pay credits to not play the game?

I can get that for free.

So is the green 270 gear that much better than purple 230 gear? 4 авг. 2020 в 15:30

I mean you're not supposed to do anything, it's just an alternative. And about getting it for free that's kinda depends. You spend your time to get this gear instead of credits, technically you could spend this time doing something else. Like making more credits. 4 авг. 2020 в 16:07 So is the green 270 gear that much better than purple 230 gear? Yes. Just mouse over a piece of gear in your inventory and it will show the stat differences with what you currently have equipped. 4 авг. 2020 в 16:09 So is the green 270 gear that much better than purple 230 gear?
Item lvl is all that matters. Higher the item lvl the more stats will be on the item. Color just represents quality Blue will have slight higher stats then green, purple slightly higher then blue, gold slightly higher then purple. When your item lvl progresses you'll stop finding lower quality items, eventually you'll only be finding gold (yellow) quality stuff. 4 авг. 2020 в 19:10 well I just reach lvl 75 and I very very exciting

Once level 75, dp flashpoints and operations over and over to get better gear 4 авг. 2020 в 23:15 So is the green 270 gear that much better than purple 230 gear?

Within the same rating, blue is better than green, but in endgame blue is always higher rating than green, so you only need to look at rating.

The loots you get from Renown, Heroics, Flashpoints, Operations, PvP, GSF all depends on your average item rating. If your average item rating is 272 for example, you'll get 270 to 274 gears, with occasional 276 on top end mission crates.

So, if you want to reach 306 sooner, raising your item rating is the only thing you should do, at all cost. Grind master flashpoints and sm operations. Claim all renown drops, disintegrate them for Tech Frags, exchange for unknown gear to boost rating. Go back to grind more.

Level 75 - Gearing the left side.

Having reached level 75, I am not sure how I am supposed to fill the equipment 7 slots on the left side of my character sheet.

It is clear how the item rating works and where I can find the sets, but I have no clue how to gear the right side: weapon, relics, implant and gear.

Can someone please help or tell me where I can find a guide?

Yep, I have already read this guide and the articles from MMObits and Vulkk, but they focus on explaining IR, sets, and so on; I couldnt find any mentions to the. left side

They do actually. You get the left sides from gear drops same as all the other gear.

Yes, they do, but they dont talk about specific items, like a named relic.

Do you mean that I should just equip a random implant?

The "rules" (==> guidelines) for left-side pieces are more or less the same as they were before 6.0 dropped.

I've never spent much time at any max level on a tank, and none at all on a healer, so I can speak only for my take on good (not necessarily best) options for DPS:
* Relics: Focused Retribution and Serendipitous dooblyflop(1), or Devastating Vengeance if you spend a lot of time in synced-down content.
* Implants and Ears: whatever suits your take on min-max for stats.

Note that before you reach IR 306, don't fuss over the specifics of gearing. You aren't max iR yet, so maxing your mix serves no purpose.

(1) Sorry, I don't have the whole name to hand, but it's definitely "Serendipitous".

Lovely, that's really helpful.

I have googled it and both relics are crafted Time to start working on it.

BTW, may I ask if I the best implants and ear come from crafting too?

Is crafting the way to go for modificaitons too?

Having reached level 75, I am not sure how I am supposed to fill the equipment 7 slots on the left side of my character sheet.

Basically the stuff on the upper left side - the earpiece and implants - are used to balance out your stats. That is, whether you use Critical, Alacrity, or Accuracy versions depends on what stats (mostly from enhancements) you already have. If, for example, your overall Accuracy stat is sitting at say, 105%, an Accuracy earpiece may take that to 110%.
Conversely, if your Accuracy is over 110%, replacing an Accuracy Implant with a Critical Implant may balance out better.
Overall, maximizing and balancing your stats just involves juggling the various enhancements, earpieces, and implants (and augments, when applicable) to get the desired result.
When you read build guides, they often specify particular earpieces and implants, but take those as just being typical items they used to get the result. Feel free to mix & match as necessary.

The 2 relics are basically whatever floats your boat. Most people use the one that gives you a chance of increased Critical, plus either increased Power or Mastery depending upon class/build.
There are also the "on use" Relics, which you would equip and then drag to a skillbar to use. I don't use them myself.

Note: The above is DPS oriented. Healers would use healing based Relics; Tanks would use tank based stuff.

Hold water, a sieve may not, but hold another sieve, it will - Yoda. . BTW, may I ask if I the best implants and ear come from crafting too?

As a crafter I can tell you that crafting is not the way to go to get earpieces**, implants**, relics**, or any other mods**. The best way to gear up in Onslaught is just to rely on drops, quest rewards, and tech fragments. You'll get boatloads of drops, etc, just from doing quests and flashpoints, whereas crafting is very expensive.

And, as I pointed out above, don't go trying to get or craft, the specific items listed in a "build" guide. You can get everything 306 you need from drops and tech fragment vendors.

** I sometimes craft some mid-level items for new alts, but I only craft augments for level 75 characters.

Your answers are precious, much appreciated!

Do you mean that the modifications and the gear item level 306 that I am dropping are the best available? Should I always keep them? I do understand that I have to check the stats , of course!

I am asking because I am IR 306 and I m trying tpo figure where to spend my capped Tech Fragments.

Can I safely buy thr modification and the unidentified gear form the Spolis of War vendor?
