ok so I read that AC2 was better played with a controller, and so I've been playing it with this PS3 aftershock PC controller I found, and like, how the ♥♥♥♥ do I control my guy lol. I definitely like the learning curve, but with the way the controls work, I only recently learned I could do midair tackles by midair tackling about 3 priests on accident.
Be aware that if you purchase the deluxe edition you'll not access the deluxe content. As Ubisoft has shut down the server, the unlockable content within Ubisoft Connect has been disabled. Flag this to STEAM by reporting the product on the store product page.
Hey Guys At first I was writing to Ubisoft and they told me to contact the Steam support because of this. I bought on January 21st 2020, "Assassins Creed 2 - Deluxe Edition" on Steam for a retail price. Everything works fine, it downloads and installs the Game, but it has a Probem with the product Key. The exact Problem described as: "Failed to request product key from Steam, please try again in a few minutes.". I tried many times without results. what do I have to do to play the Game? An excellent Assassins Creed game that is sadly let down by poor optimization on the PC.
The story is extremely well done, and the game has a ton of variety in the missions - something that was missing from the original AC1. Sound and music are great, and there are many things to collect in-game such as treasure chests, codex pages, hidden feathers, hidden symbols etc which keep you busy. A single 100% playthrough took me about 50 hours to complete.
Some criticisms - poor optimisation for the PC, stuttering in a few areas, pop-ins with graphics in the distance, and a few crashes every now and again. Controls can be really awkward to use, and some missions can induce frustration, anger and RAGE. as you constantly fight with the controls. The game also feels very consoley, and the graphics are abit dated now.
But aside from all its faults, its still a cracking game. I would definitely buy a remastered version of AC2 again if they released it for the PC, because for such an amazing game it really needs a good polish and a lick of paint.
