I have seen it outside before west of berg guarding the cave when I was still new to the game. I returned to kill it only to find it's missing. I went in the cave, only to find normal mantie cores, killed everything inside, and went out searching, circling the WHOLE area. It's filled with Bandits and dears telling me it's not killing anything. What gives? Why did he disappear? anyone else experiencing this? I have only seen him once never tried fighting him when I first saw him.

there's manticore on the forest map?
i know in Berg the NPC is saying the manticore population outside is growing,but in my game i can't even find a single manticore,well i found 1 in the desert when doing the Treasure Hunt quest

The only manti core you can find outside is the Royal Manticore, and it's suppose to always be guarding the cave entrance. In the cave you can find other manticores.

Same here! Fought this royal manticore a few times but it kills me, on third time when i arrived there is no manticore anymore!
Why is it disappears?
How to spawn it again? Just sleeping for 24 hours didn't work!
This is not the first time when monsters disappears for me, the shell horror in chersonese did it earlier after it kills me once.
Is this a bug, or they would respawn sooner or later?

bandits and other forest creatures can also attack it
it's possible it died to them and despawned when you died/did something/went somewhere
Yes, I make it out this is some kind of "merciness" system which just despawns the enemy that keeps killing you again and again.
But at the same time it takes away sweet vengeance and forces the player to skip days to respawn that monsret again.

The game's internal time system refreshes shopkeeper's stocks, mining nodes, monster/enemy respawns about once per week of in game time. Certain areas, such as the beach south of Cierzo, will spawn "natural" creatures quicker. So, the pistol shrimps seem to respawn quicker on the beach than, let's say, hyenas would. Certain berry/vegetable nodes seem to have quicker spawn times, though this may be because they're abundant and I haven't noticed. I have never died to it before, that's the problem I have no idea it was even hard because I never got the chance. Just saw it once, said nope, came back when I was more prepared it disappeared completely. I think it died due to some random mob and the body disappeared when I left the region. Special mobs tend to do that, whether you or something else killed it with and without loot. This is not true. Spawning is pretty much completely random.
As for the Manticore (and other unique world bosses), I think there is a bug where if you die to them and respawn IN THE SAME AREA (not inside a dungeon or city), then the monster will disappear until you completely reset the zone. So you have to go into a city for 7 consecutive days, then come back outside and it should be back on the map.
The other possibility is that it died. Unique enemies do not respawn.

Since I have posted this, I have played multiple characters by this point, and for each different characters, it was a complete gamble, it happened to 2/7 of my characters, where the Royal Manti Core was never seen, the 2nd character to have the manticore gone, found it's dead corpse one day. So I guess it does wander around and sometimes dies due to being too hyper aggressive roaming around, this only happened to characters staying in that area for more than 2 weeks.
So it's possible that it would eventually die due to never having it's health refreshed, getting slowly killed by the other trash mobs.

Manticore can be found in Abrassar and the Royal Manticore's Lair. They are enormous beasts with a large tail similar to a scorpion's tail. The Royal Manticore can also be found in Enmerkar Forest.

Are they in the desert? Without looking at that map it's in the bottom south east region, I think. It's an unmarked cave, Royal Manticore cave, and it has a stronger blue Manticore guarding the entrance (Royal Manticore?) Just be careful if you do find it because I was unprepared when I found it by chance. It killed me and when I came back it was gone. I looked all over and never found it lol. I assume it can respawn but I haven't been back to check yet.
Also in that same cave (don't read if you don't want to be spoiled by an awesome item find) there's an 85 capacity unique backpack with -10% stamina use. bring a large emerald to get through the Trog gate to get it.
