With 2i2 you won’t be able to access the Output Routing settings because you only have the monitor outputs available (and there’s no loopback interface support in the 2i2 either) - so what this means, in TLDR terms, is that applications that are attached to your input channels will see the same signal as your DAW, before any processing.
What I believe that you want is to capture the signal after your DAW and route it to another application (the streaming app - can be the browser or something else) - to do that with a 2i2 you’ll need to route the DAW output to an intermediate virtual audio interface (you need to search for 3rd party tools) that can then be read by another application (the streaming app).
In Focusrite Control "Output Routing is not Supported" for Scarlett Solo and 2i2. So no way to mute the unused 2nd channel?
For Solo and 2i2 the Focusrite Control`s Output routing tab is disabled - so there`s not much to control.
The Focusrite website states:
"On the Scarlett Solo and 2i2 3rd Gen the Output Routing section in Focusrite Control doesn’t have any function. Since these units only have 2 outputs available, stereo playback from software will automatically route to the stereo outputs on the interface."
So if I have Scarlett 2i2, there is no way for me to mute the second unused input (to prevent the recording from additional noise) ?
Headphone sound is distorted on Scarlett Solo gen 3
Just got a focusrite scarlett solo gen 3. I plugged it into my macbook(2020) and plugged in some earbuds using a 1/4” adaptor. After installing FC app and going through the set up I try to test the sound and it all sounds very distorted with lots of static. This was only done by testing random apps like spotify and youtube.
I tested the xlr mic and tried some recordings and that was coming in fine(I check sound by using macbooks audio jack). On the FC app I also do not have the ability to create mixing interfaces on the output side it says “Output routing not supported on this device”
So theres something definitely off. Can anyone help? Or do I have a defective device?

Focusrite не работает
без программ звук есть? как ты звук выводишь? Драйвера точно установлены?
Со звуком без карты все ок, драйвер установлен, на самой карте загорается питание и зеленым цветом usb, ableton правда выдает audio is disabled.Please choose an audio output device in the Audio Preferences.
Звук у тебя пропадает потому, что активируется ASIO драйвер для звука и тебе его копать надо. Ты ж установила официальные драва для карты Scarlett 2i2, а там ставится ASIO драйвер для звука.
Фантомное питание для майка включено на карте? Там белая кнопка 48V есть, включи, если у тебя конденсаторный майк студийный.
В какой программе звук пишешь? Я в Adobe Audition пишу.
В Audition примерно так майк нужный выбирается.
Рядом есть ещё пункт "Мастер дорожка", там устройство вывода указывается, но я не вывожу звук через карту Scarlett 2i2, музон играет через колонки, подключенные к обычной встроенной звуковухе от Intel. Там можно это настраивать, если надо.

Eazy-L Просветленный (25918) Карта подключена именно в USB 2.0? Проверьте. Если через панель управления открыть список устройств записывающих, где вы там микрофона по умолчанию выставляли, то там жен зайдите в свойства устройства Focusrite USB и на вкладке дополнительно выставьте такие же настройки как у вас тут в окне на этой картинке. Хотя я везде выставил 2 канала, 48000 Гц (Студийная запись) и там и тут.
