Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) features various downloadable content packs that contain additional features including additional events , multiplayer game modes, and vehicles.

Два гонщика должны на определённом участке трассы обогнать друг друга.
Строй
В этой гонке вы должны превзойти указанное время, при этом вам мешает полиция (количество полицейских ограничено). Для ухода от погони вам дается оружие.
Гонка на время
То же, что и строй, но в гонке на время отсутствует полиция.
Свободный заезд
Тренировка водителей, независимо от того, гонщики они или полицейские. Трасса и время не имеют ограничений, иными словами, трасса никогда не кончается и ездить можно сколько угодно. Игрок ни с кем не соревнуется, ни от кого не скрывается, никого не догоняет, соперников не имеет и может ездить сколько угодно и на какой угодно скорости. Игрок может выбрать любой из доступных ему автомобилей.

Limited Edition
Its announcement on August 16, 2010 was accompanied with a trailer for the content included in the Limited Edition release, highlighting that it will include the standard game, exclusive content, and early access to some cars.
Each physical copy of the Limited Edition includes a redemption code for an Online Pass, which includes access to a downloadable content pack for the Limited Edition content. As the content was tied to redeeming an Online Pass, only physical retail boxes of the Limited Edition release for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 were made available.

Этот тип гонок надо покупать (набор «Вооружены и опасны»). В этом типе гонок игрок является гонщиком и ему дается оружие для уничтожения других гонщиков. Гонка заканчивается, когда остаётся один гонщик, или выжившие гонщики доедут до финиша. Также гонщикам мешает полиция, которая выставляет перекрытия и вызывает вертолёт.
Наиболее разыскиваемый
Этот тип гонок надо покупать (набор «Вооружены и опасны»). То же самое, что и сетевая погоня, но здесь полицейским для победы надо поймать «наиболее разыскиваемого» гонщика, который выбирается случайно. В данной гонке, как и в «перехвате», нет маршрута.
Оружие (все имеет 3 уровня)
Заграждение/Перекрытие дороги
Полоса с шипами
Доступна и для полицейских, и для гонщиков. При данной функции сзади у машины вылетает короткая лента (на третьем уровне две ленты), покрытая шипами, и раскладывается поперёк дороги.
ЭМИ (Электромагнитный импульс)
Доступен и для полицейских, и для гонщиков. Электромагнитный импульс, который повреждает машину на расстоянии. Требует наводки на цель. Не действует на большие расстояния (действует на всё, включая полицейский вертолёт).
Вертолёт
Доступное для полицейских оружие. Вертолёт скидывает на ходу полосы с шипами.
Подавитель
Доступен только гонщикам. При его активации полицейские и гонщики не смогут пользоваться оружием и не увидят гонщика на карте, а на карте гонщика появится расположение заграждений. Так же может подавить ЭМИ и полосу с шипами.
Турбоускорение
Доступно для гонщиков. Даёт чрезвычайно мощное, но непродолжительное ускорение. Интересно, что во время его использования из выхлопной трубы автомобиля появляется зелёное пламя. Интервал между активацией (нажатием кнопки) и началом действия около 3 секунд.
