Xpadder.

What's the one major thing PC gaming has over console gaming, especially when it comes to FPS? Mouse aiming. So what did I go and do? Knowing full well that I would be using a mouse and keyboard to play Crysis, I went and configured the controller to a much more comfortable setup anyway. Why? Cause I was bored, mostly. So here you go, a Crysis Controller setup that doesn't suck, utilizes all the buttons on the controller, and doesn't use three different buttons for the same command.

Just dump this into your C:\Users\[your username]\Documents\My
Games\Crysis\Profiles\default[or whatever profile you use]. I'd keep the old actionmaps.xml handy, just in case this one messes something up. It's only been tested by a team of monkeys, not by actual gamers yet, so it probably has some kinks that I don't know about - the monkeys are really bad at filling out playtesting reports.

And here's a list of why it no longer sucks, in case my radiant personality, showmanship, and obviously reliable playtesting methods hadn't already convinced you.
Button maps:
A = jump
X = use/reload
B = binoculars
Y = grenade

"Those were all the same." Sit, Ubu. We're only a fourth of the way through the buttons. Here's where it gets interesting.

Left shoulder = Sprint
Right shoulder = Suit menu. Because some of us have very stiff L3 buttons and when you're getting shot at and you need to cloak or sprint out of there like Usain Bolt, ain't nobody got time for stopping, pressing, selecting, and then moving again. Suit select should be able to be done on the move.

Left trigger = Aim down sights. Because that's what it's supposed to be. I'd like to have a word with the guy who thought it'd be a good idea to have ADS be right shoulder.
Right trigger = Fire (duh). Fun story: while trying to make left trigger be hold-to-aim instead of press to aim, press again to stop aiming, I accidentally turned THIS trigger to press to fire, press again to stop. Imagine my surprise when I go to put one bullet in one head, release the trigger and end up putting 5 in his head and the rest into everything that was sitting behind him minding its own business. There's a fully automatic gun for ya, nerdreaper404. Don't worry. I changed it back. Maybe.
L3 = Crouch - Crouch is no longer hold to crouch, because let's be honest, that ♥♥♥♥'s obnoxious. Press it and you STAY crouched. Press A to stand back up. It may take a bit to get used to, but it's way better than having to hold the entire time. Cause there's a lot of crouching in Crysis.
R3 = Melee

D pad up = Toggle fire mode
D pad down = Prone. Press again or press A to get back up. Prone wasn't even mapped to the controller. That means that half of the best hiding spots are immediately unaccessible to anyone silly enough to play with a controller in the first place. But now they too can recharge their cloak while lying under a table in the middle of a room full of bad guys.
"Wait, but that button was already mapped to the weapon customization menu." Yes, it was. But are we really that lazy, that we need to waste a button just to make accessing it one click shorter? You can get to the exact same menu by using right shoulder, which is now the suit menu instead of ADS, remember?
D pad right = Toggle grenade type. Because this button wasn't even being used before I mapped it. It was just sitting there. Not doing anything. I wonder if that was let's-put-ADS-on-the-right-shoulder-button guy's idea too.
D pad left = Toggle weapons

Enjoy, edit it if you want or if you feel that you can make improvements. Let me know how it works and if it's got issues I'll get the monkeys to try to fix it.
