Overview

Armormech is the ability to work with hard metals and electronic shielding to construct all types of personal armor.

This Armormech Leveling Guide will show you the fastest and easiest way to level your Armormech Crew Skill from 1 to 550 using the least amount of materials.

The Armormech crew skill creates armor used by the Trooper/Bounty Hunter and Smuggler/Imperial Agent classes. It manufactures Medium and Heavy armor with stats suited to non-Force users (Aim, Cunning, Endurance, and secondary stats).

What to Make

To start, visit any Armormech Trainer and learn the Armormech Crew Skill. All of the schematics listed in this guide are available to purchase from the Trainer as you level.

Item Tiers

Note: In Game Update 4.1, you can use the Armor Assembly Components you craft at lower levels to craft items at higher levels, thus the exact amount of materials used will vary significantly from player to player. This section of the guide gives an overview of when you should switch to the next item to craft and depends very much on which Armor Assembly Components you have available. If you run out of Armor Assembly Components, craft more as you go (they have a very large difficulty level buffer).

Example: Craft Desh Armor Assembly Component until level 20. Then craft Resistive Armoring 3 until you run out of Desh Armor Assembly Component OR until you hit level 35, then switch back to Desh Armor Assembly Component, craft more Resistive Armoring 3 with what you make until level 35, and then switch entirely to the filler Desh Armor Assembly Component until you reach the next tier (level 60 with Resistive Armoring 5).

Note: Sometimes there is an overlap, in which two different items may both be viable to craft at a certain level. In these cases, it is up to personal preference. Ex: Resistive Armoring 5 and Absorb Augment 5 at level 70 are both possible crafting options. All optimal items in a tier require the same materials (we've listed these at the bottom of each tier).

Overview

Armstech is the ability to work with hard metals, alloys, and synthetic materials to craft blasters, blaster modifications, and melee weapons.

This Armstech Leveling Guide will show you the fastest and easiest way to level your Armstech Crew Skill from 1 to maxlevel using the least amount of materials.

Vendor-purchased fluxes are used during the weapon creation process to refine the materials to ensure suitability. Crafted blasters include blaster pistols, blaster rifles, sniper rifles, assault cannons and shotguns. Blaster modifications include blaster barrels. Melee weapons include vibroblades and electrostaves. Armstechs can reverse engineer their crafted items and possibly discover new ways to improve their creation. The gathering skill Scavenging provides crafting resources for Armstech. Armstechs can also craft endurance, surge, critical, accuracy and power augments. These can be installed in any item that has an augment slot.

Underworld Trading allows you to collect rare metals for "blue" and above quality gear - however, none of these are necessary to get Armormech from 1 to 400. Since Armormech costs quite a bit to level up, you might want to take a 2nd gathering crew skill to help pay the bills.

Crafting Armor

Armormechs can craft medium and heavy armor. The medium armors are intended for Smugglers and Imperial Agents, typically boosting the "cunning" stat. The heavy armors are intended for Troopers and Crafting Augments

Once the schematic is learned, each augment can be crafted as long as you have the materials.

Reverse Engineering

Crafted armor can be reverse engineered by its creator. Reverse engineering allows the armortech to reclaim some materials, and also offers a chance for an upgraded schematic.

Schematics can be likened to tiers as shown:

  • Green, or "Premium" schematics as base schematics
  • Blue, or "Prototype" schematics as tier 1 schematics
  • Purple, or "Artifact" schematics as tier 2 schematics

Tier 1 items can also be reverse engineered with the intention of gaining a tier 2 schematic. Tier 2 schematics replace the prefix with a new one, and also add another boost to the armor, randomly chosen from shield rating, accuracy rating, alacrity rating, surge rating, and presence. Currently, redoubt equipment appears to be the sole exception, not being able to produce a tier 3 schematic with an alacrity rating. Tier 2 schematics also include an increase in the armor stat over its tier 1 iteration.
