Familiarize yourself with Minechem by taking a look at the various Machines, Elements, and Molecules you have at your disposal. However, your basic Minechem setup should have.
- A Chemical Decomposer to break down items and blocks into their constituent elements and molecules.
- A Chemical Synthesis Machine to combine basic elements and molecules in order to recreate items.
- A Microscope and Chemist's Journal to analyze everything and record discoveries.
- A source of power. As of version 5.0.5 for Minecraft 1.7.10, Minechem machines use Redstone Flux from Thermal Expansion; however, older versions for Minecraft 1.6.4 use Universal Electricity.

The following instructions are for the latest version, 5.0.5.
Ultimately, it is recommended to do modding through a launcher such as Feed the Beast or the AT Launcher, since they usually provide mod packs that include Minechem and handle a lot of the initial setup; they may also provide an option for a vanilla Minecraft with just Minecraft Forge installed.

The following are absolute must-haves in order to get Mine Chem loaded up and working correctly.

Вещества и элементы
Мод добавляет в игру 113 химических элементов таблицы Менделеева - от водорода до унунтрия. Элементы и вещества хранятся в специальных колбах. Почти каждый элемент имеет собственный способ получения и применение. Элементы бывают стабильные и радиоактивные: радиоактивный элемент при нахождении в мире постепенно распадается, время до распада зависит от степени радиоактивности. Если элемент распадется в инвентаре у игрока, он нанесет ему большой урон. После распада элемент превращается в другой элемент с меньшим атомным номером.
Вещества представляют собой соединения нескольких элементов. Практически любое вещество можно получить в машине химического синтеза из составляющих элементов. Часть веществ уже имеет применения в игре: например, для синтеза предметов и блоков из ванильного Minecraft. Некоторые вещества применений еще не имеют.

The Polytool is an all-in-one tool that combines an axe, pickaxe, shovel and sword and that can be upgraded with elements to add effects or to alter the tool speeds.

Crafting [ ]
The Polytool is crafted by placing a 4 full stacks of Carbon Nanotubes into the Chemical Synthesis Machine configured so that the top-center, left-center, right-center, and bottom-center slots each have a full stack.

The Polytool is used in the same way as any Minecraft tool: left-click is used to attack, chop, dig, and mine, and right-click opens the configuration GUI.
While in the configuration GUI, you can place a full stack of an element (64 atoms) in the upper-left slot to upgrade the tool with that element and apply its effects; however, there is no way to remove elements from the tool once they're applied. All active elements are shown revolving around the Polytool in the GUI.

Tool Modifiers [ ]
Without any modifications, the Polytool has +8 Attack Damage, and 8 speed points each for the pickaxe (which tracks two separate statistics for ore mining and stone mining speeds), shovel, and axe functionalities. The following table lists the damage and speed modifiers for each of the relevant elements. No stat can be lowered below 2 points.

In addition to tool modifiers above, some elements add special effects to the Polytool. The table below lists all effects as of version 5.0.5.
