Decipher the words puzzle

You will then reach the main puzzle of Chapter 1.

Your aim is to decipher the words in the middle to open the gate. Unfortunately, you need to actually find all the words in the maze, even if you know the answer.

How to solve the 9-tiles puzzle

Every time you step on a tile, it lights up the adjacent tiles. Stepping on it again will switch it off.

To make things easy for you, there are actually lights out puzzle solvers available online.

One of them is this. You just need to edit the puzzle solver according to which tiles are already lit inside your game, and the puzzle solver will tell you where to step next.


Once all tiles are lit, the gate opens.

Finish the word puzzle

From the tiles area, you will be led back to this words puzzle.

Your objective would be to find five keys and pull three levers to finally exit the area.

When you begin, pick up the stone with the rune engraving. Also, read the paper to understand what you need to do.

Look for the first key and another rune

The doors to one side are all open now. Enter the maze and be careful of the skeleton-like monster.

You can probably outrun him though.

One indicator you may get before finding that special room is a torch. In the middle of the pitch black maze, you might find a wall with a lit torch.

Nearby, you should find the room. Pick up the key and the rune.

Unlock the other doors

Head back to the area where you first unlocked one side of the doors.

Place the rune on the other button and press it.

Solve the memory-game puzzle

The paths should lead you to an area where you have to solve a memory-game puzzle.

You will see a button on the ground near the wall. Step on it to begin.

To solve the puzzle, you just need to match the two identical runes.

If you fail, it will reset. Match all of them to unlock the lever. Also, be careful of the monster pig that will hunt you.


Once the lever is unlocked, pull the lever.


Get the third key

On the way to the next puzzle, you may come across an area with some stones that resemble coffins.


How to solve the three-stone puzzle

You will then come across a well-lit room with three stone puzzles. You have to turn the stones around until you unlock the lever.

If you look behind the puzzle towards the right, you will see a set of three stones behind some bars.

Follow the rune symbols exactly. It should match the stone pillar on the left.


Ensure that you get the one on the left correct first. The order of the symbols might be different for every game.

The below combination worked for me.



Get the last key

After getting 4 keys and solving the puzzles, look for the maze-like area near the previous puzzle.



Insert the keys

Follow the maze and make it through to the key chamber.

Insert all five keys and the bars will be removed.


Pull the lever and go back to where you inserted the two rune stones in the beginning.


Escape the area

The exit area is literally all the way straight from your spawn point.

How to find the five seals

If you look at the note nearby, there are five locations to find:

If you use the gate furthest from the spawn point (house), it should lead you to the table with clowns.

How to solve the greenhouse puzzle

Another place you need to go to is the greenhouse. You can use the second or third furthest gates to find the greenhouse.

To solve the greenhouse puzzle, you first need to know which chemical is in which flask.

Then, you need to turn on the flasks according to the sequence given in the note.

If you follow the order, it will be Blue, Red, Green, Red, Yellow, Blue and Red. Then, take the greenish mixture with you.


Go to the door blocked by vines. Use it on the vines.



How to get the seal at the farm field

The farm field is pretty big and you may need to crouch here if you wish to avoid detection from the monster.

The seal is located on the dead body strung up in the middle of the field.

Playground

The seal on the playground is straightforward.

How to solve the cages puzzle

The last area is known as the cages area. Before reaching the area, you should see two big statues.

Follow the path until you reach an open area with cages.


The main aim here is to move the globes surrounding the middle globe.

In order to do so, you need to get the correct order. To move a globe, stand on the button in front of it and interact with the globe.

The first globe is the one with the two notes on it. Turn the first globe to begin.


Then, follow the order shown in the image below. The second globe is towards the right of the first, and the third is on the left of the first.


After interacting with all of them and the tiles are all lit, the middle one opens.

As you may have seen in our last update, we recently brought procedural generation to the public_testing branch. After watching hours upon hours of streams these past few weeks, we think we're ready to bring all of the new changes over to the live branch. This is the largest update to the game so far.

For those who haven't seen our previous updates or devblogs, procedural generation adds a ton of replayability to the game. It's a completely new gamemode, separated from the story that allows players to level up by playing procedurally generated maps with monsters and locations exclusive to the gamemode.


You can also find and unlock cosmetics within the maps, some being map specific and rare!

This update also brings a full rework for all of the monsters in the game, giving them improved AI, improved animations and all new sounds. Alongside this, the new death system is now live, allowing players to be revived by friends as well as having team lives that will put you in spectate mode once they've run out.


Please remember, the game is still Early Access so things will continue to be added/improved and gameplay might not be final.

We're going to have to summarise a lot of the changelog as there is just too many fixes and small additions to list.
