I've finally gotten around to making a browser version!

Here is a rar package you can run locally until i sort out public hosting!
Just unzip the rar and run the "index.html"
16k resolution in only 50MB!

Was a blast learning how to code this in just a few days.
I wanna give the biggest shoutout in the world to Matt, aka Matalus(steam) for not only building me a custom powershell ripper to pull all the data from the games JSONs, but having it directly insert teh relevant data into my code template for JS, as well as holding my hand the whole way while i customised it to my needs.

Was tonnes of fun to make, I hope you enjoy!

have made some tweaks and fixes this morning and fixed some broken icons etc.
is all working again fine now.

The map itself is screenshots of the in game map i photoshopped together (was originally using the colourful map that came in the deluxe edition artbook, but that was old, missing locations and had either wrong names or misspelt names for A LOT of places). Around 9 wide and 7 high. Then i used the google tiler script for photoshop to export them into workable folders for the JS to read (zoom level/X/Y), each tile is 256pixel squares for each zoom level, so it for 6 zoom levels it works out to be around 5500 individual images but the script does all the heavy lifting.

All the icons for the planets and factions are already available inside the game directory as .dds files which i used 2 simple powershell scripts to flip them as they come upside down and remove all the prefixes from. (both i got from about 10s of googling) Then I used a converter to convert them from dds to png and then use pngyu compressor to make all the map tiles and icons a more usable size (original total size was 1.05GB, working final size of 50MB without quality loss). For the 'highlighted' planets i simply photshopped the MRB logo into a layer behind them and for all of them i removed the place border since they were squares so it was a nice circle shape.
