This is an alert quest for companions. Lokin wants this massive list of materials that when turned in will get you to level 10 influence with him. From what I understand, once I get rank 10, he will send me into the Rakghoul caves during the next Rakgoul event (Nov 10). I am assuming the only way to get the materials is through crafting, but i don't do any crafting.

Is there any other way of getting rank 10 with Lokin, or should i just abandon this one? I would start the crafting if I thought the outcome of this had any benefit whatsoever, but so far these companion alert quests seem kind of useless.

First things he needs are basic biochem stuff - you can gather them or buy on the GTN (OR you can turn in stuff you have from previous rakghoul events - these net you a bit more reputation) then he sends you to do a quest that is only duable if you enter the rakghoul tunnels so that has to wait for November. Have a Darkside Cookie, it may contain traces of awesome stuff! Quote: Originally Posted by bryan_starwars

LoL this quest ticked me off, I bought the mats of gtn for a little over a mil to get level 10 influence, then it tells me I can't even get lokin before the rakghoul event!! lmao thats sadden me because you can get those mats during the rakghoul event! so I wasted 1 mil credits.

He can be done through items found in the rakghoul event.

This means you don't need to craft and as you have to wait for the event to complete it you wont be behind in anyway.

After I reach level 10 he wants me to plant probes at different sites. What sites? Are they on Taris or in the event tunnels? It's not my fault!

This mission just comes across as poorly designed.

Not a fan of this one.

Yes, notice how event-specific items grant you a lot more influence?

Also, his mission has to be completed in the Rakghoul Resurgence event anyway.

My biggest issue is the disparity between various Alerts.

M1/Pierce - 20 warzones. At the very least that's few hours of pvping.
Qyzen - Champion grinding or Hoth or a WB tour. Will take some time regardless.
Lokin - Bio farm, tons of cash spent on GTN or time spent on Event mats.

Meanhile:
Yunn mission - completition time, approximately 5 minutes.
Talos mission - 10 minutes, 20 if you walk on slow mode from 1 dig site to another
Xalek - 20 minutes

Why not make all of them take some time but equal and a bit less than the current grinds for M1/Qyzen/Lokin? I don't mint grinds, I think influence raising is a good hook for these missions. But some companion take zero effort to aqure while others take a ton of time. Not that great design, especially when taking alts into account.

This quest just seems so horrible designed. It pretty much requires certain characters swap our crew skills or spend tons of credits.

Going for the materials you need from

800 items depending on which one you need. The problem is they are crafting items, so you need to either have a character with a high enough level to go to the planet that lets you gather them, or buy them on the GTN which could cost millions of credits. And the stacks Lokin takes only gives 300 influence besides a couple special items.

Keep in mind that to get a full 99 stack of the required items would range from

100k to millions each, depending on which one you choose. Again, you need hundreds of these items. Not to mention the new demand no doubt raises the prices of these items, so now crafters are also forced to spend more money.

I think BW should change items Lokin needs should be the same as Qyzen, loot. Or, at least, either reduce the number amount needed for Lokin per influence gain or increase the amount of influence given.
