I then installed it on another Toshiba Win10 laptop (new), with all updates and again it ran immediately after installing but hasn't worked since.
"Spore has stopped working" before UI launches.

Launch the game in windowed mode , use it to compatibility mode .
Read this post , it can also be a problem of your processor .

ok so I bought a disc of spore online and I downloaded ever thing but when I put in the disc nothing happens and when I try to open it manualy it dosent work it dose nothing and don't forget I have the disc in

I'm having a similar issue with Spore (I'm trying to get it to work for my daughter to play.) I'm using a new laptop with windows 10 and while the game installs fine (only have base game and galactic adventures) no desktop icon comes up and the game isn't located in the games folder for me to make a copy of said icon onto the desktop. I don't have the option to downgrade the OS however I can't change compatibility modes for the game unless i find the icon. After several installs, it still won't create one. I am aware my copy is about 7 years old and doesn't let me redeem it's code on the EA store anymore (I've been trying in hopes I can get a desktop icon that way) but i've heard people have had this issue with downloaded copies that are more recent as well and was wondering if it had something to do with windows 10 itself.
I would love some help as my daughter really wants to play this game.

where can I find spore icon and exe? I have looked at everything on my laptop and tried all but none seem to work.

They's located under C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\SPORE
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Spore\SporeBin\SporeApp.exe

Hello friends of gaming,
I am not sure if my issue exactly meets the initial topic, but there are maybe correlations so I tell you my story.
Yesterday I bought Spore (basic version) via Steam. As the game didn't run I searched for answers and found out that there is a problem in general considering registry data as the Steam version still tries to register as if it was the regular version, so the values are incorrect. My knowledge in working with registry is about 0.000001% (less than a bloody beginner) so I added all values that are told to be correct for the Steam version in all key paths I had found. There is still this problem (errors 2000 and 1004).
I do use Windows 10. It may be the case that registry works different than for earlier Windows OSs, or that Spore doesn't run at all even if the registry is fine. I also tried to run it with compatibility mode for Wndows 8 and as an admin. Instead of launching I was immediately asked if the problem was solved. Of course not.
11 авг. 2015 в 7:31I bought Spore last week on Windows 8.1 and had many crashes before my Windows 10 upgrade decided to pop up. Now, I have gone through pure hell and was finally told that Spore WILL NOT work on Windows 10 BY THE GAME DEVELOPER! I am so disappointed and frustrated I could scream. Hope you guys get this and don't waste your money buying it on Windows 10.
Here is an UPDATE (31 Aug 15): I got Spore working, just Spore, no Creepy & Cute Parts Pack, no Galactic Adventures. At least I can play the Spore base game (It still crashes, but gives me a good hour to play and can be rebooted to get it working again). I strongly advise caution if you are considering buying this game for your Windows 10 system. I am not so willing to use third party software, if you are, be my guest and go for it. This is just a warning for the average non-techy gamer.
Обновил Windows до 10, а оказывается оно не поддерживает spore, xcom и много другого (буду проверять скоро ВСЕ мои игры, идут ли они на windows). Переходить обратно на семёрку - уже не смогу, ибо около месяца пользуюсь десяткой, и совсем отвык. Можно ли что-то сделать, чтобы всё шло не баганное. Какова ошибка:Spore включается (GA кстати), потом пропускаю заставку. Показывает "космические приключение" а вместо "Spore" - белый прямоугольник, с какими-то "помехами" в правом-вехнем углу. Подключение к учётной записи - не выходит, ошибка. Выглядит всё - как обычный spore, без ГА. Нет приключений, редактора капитана, прочего. И у меня удалилась половина планет из за этого. В игре полно белых полей и отсутствий фона. К примеру, в загрущке игры, когда внизу существа показываются, без фона. Иконки состояний гнёзд - белые квадраты, кнопки синие на этапе существо - баг. В редакторе полно всего такого. И всё, как будто обычный spore, без ГА. Что делать? И в Виндоусе ли дело?

I'm native speaker of "this language" (Russian, by the way, and Google Translation detects it). Here goes quick Google translate after fixing grammar and some rephrasing:

I may sound like an idiot saying this but how do I install Spore? I have a Boxed Copy and when I click on the Icon in the Disk Drive it just loads for a split second and does nothing. Any help?You'd be better off taking the CD key, registering it through Origin, and playing that way.
The retail copies of Spore include SecuROM, and you really don't want that on your system.
As an aside, EA will not support Spore in Windows 10. If it doesn't work, all you can do is to try running it in XP compatibility mode and with administrator rights.
(Update: Windows 10 does not allow SecuROM to install, so retail copies of Spore will not run on Windows 10. Also, EA did not update the security certificates for retail copies of Spore in 2017, so retail copies of Spore will not run on any OS. Convert the CD key to Origin and play there.)
