В интервью программист подчеркнул, что игра будет работать только на DirectX 12. Так как это единственный используемый API, запустить Cyberpunk 2077 возможно лишь на Windows 7 и Windows 10.

Голлент назвал две причины, почему разработчики решили отдать предпочтение DirectX 12.

«Во-первых, это стандартный API для платформ Xbox. Так как игра выходит на Xbox One, мы хотели внедрить его как можно быстрее. Во-вторых, это место рождения DXR. Мы давно решили делать ставку на трассировку лучей, поэтому выбор DX12 был довольно простым», — рассказал Голлент.

Cyberpunk 2077 выйдет 19 ноября, а пока разработчики интригуют поклонников новыми порциями скриншотов и подробностями об игре. Так, вчера стало известно, что из Cyberpunk 2077 убрали возможность бегать по стенам. Зато в игре можно гладить котов.

При попытке запустить выдает вот такую ошибку

После нескольких часов загрузки / установки / переустановки драйвера игры / gog / gpu я только что понял, что Cyberpunk 2077 поддерживает только Windows 7 и Windows 10 (что, честно говоря, указано на странице описания продукта)

Немного покопавшись в файлах игры, видно, что движок использует d3d12on7 от Microsoft, который не поддерживает Windows 8 или 8.1.

ПОМНИТЕ! Эти файлы не являются готовым продуктом, игра еще может зависнуть. Совместимы только графические процессоры NVIDIA! убедитесь, что версия вашего драйвера начинается с 460.XX, иначе игра вообще не запустится !!

I knew I would probably have to bit the (10) bullet when the game came out but I was holding out for a miracle.
You can still get the free upgrade to win 10, trouble is. win 10 is still a complete bag o ♥♥♥♥♥ that I don't want on my pc

Thanks that's a great choice ♥♥♥♥ Windows 8.1 or ♥♥♥♥ Windows 10 xD, also are they kidding how can they not make for Windows 8.1 also or say somewhere so people know, down there in specs nobody expects it doesn't work on Windows 8.1 but on Windows 7 yes xD it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke

I did the free upgrade to Win 10 when it came out, tried for 2 weeks and every bad thing anyone ever had to say about it was true.
Simple things that used to take 2 mouse clicks now took 5 or 6 clicks and involved several open pages or tabs. How is that improving my user experience?
It took me two days just to find and disable all the uneeded and invasive ♥♥♥♥ they installed and ran automatically without asking while using up a crapload of mem.
Like I said, I knew the writing was on the wall for 8.1 but given the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ alternative I was hanging on as long as possible.
Never had any gaming issues with 8.1 ever.

Windows 8 (and subsequently 8.1) was an experiment by microsoft into the wrong direction. I didn't like it. Does that mean that it's necessarily bad? Not really. But, as it is really an older version of windows (and seemingly the least popular), there is less incentive for microsoft and game studios to support it.
As for windows 10 I personally don't have any issues with it, or at least not anything noticeable. Runs fine, and as it's the latest and most used version, it gets the most support.

I mean it's easy to say "oh windows 10 is ♥♥♥♥", or "simple tasks take longer", but do you have anything more specific? Something that can actually be checked and verified?
