В европейских странах ПК-версия игры особенно успешно продалась в Германии и России.
По словам Антуана Молана — директора Capcom по маркетингу в Великобритании и странах региона EMEA, в который входят Европа, Ближний Восток и Африка — успеху Monster Hunter: World на ПК способствовал выход в Steam и отложенная дата релиза. Игра вышла на компьютерах в августе 2018 года, тогда как на консолях Monster Hunter: World появилась в конце января того же года.
Благодаря отдельной дате релиза, согласно Антуану Молану, ПК-версия получила больше возможностей и времени для продвижения и рекламы. В итоге в странах вроде Германии и России Monster Hunter: World показала «превосходные результаты на ПК-рынке», что повлияло на успех игры во всей Европе.
Не углубляясь в детали, ПК — вторая по популярности платформа для Monster Hunter: World. Поэтому ПК-рынок невероятно важен для нас.

If Sony won't play ball then add it at least with the xbox one version, MS is really pro-crossplaform.

Capcom, being Japanese, are far far more likely to side with Sony than Microsoft unfortunately.
Cross platform excluding PS4 would severely anger their Japanese fanbase since the vast majority are on PS4 over there.

Street Fighter V has crossplatform play. thats one game out of many though, DD:DA didn't, DS I-III didn't, so on and so forth.
it also is another thing to consider the different requirements needed to sync a fighting game (2 variables, player 1 and 2) and an instanced zone (players, monsters, materials, and any events)
there is also stuff like cost to factor in as well, and it aint cheap in most methods

i have a Friend who just has an Xbox One and we are trying to find good Games we can play together? Can we play this together?! Would be awesome!
There's no demo for this game so if you have never played any MH games or are unsure about the genre. I would recommend trying Dauntless. It's a free to play game and a simplified version of Monster Hunter World. It has cross play with Switch, Xbox, PS4 and PC. If you and your friend really enjoy it then definitely plop down the money for MHW and give it a shot. MHW is more refined, offers more variety of weapons, monsters and content. The graphics and combat in MHW are much better.
На сколько я понимаю:
Кросс-платформенная игра (Cross-platform Game), это игра, доступная сразу на нескольких платформах, т.е. к примеру как MHW, которая доступна на PC, PS4 и XBOne.
А кросс-плей (Cross-play или Cross-platform Play), это общие сервера/возможность играть в одну и ту же игру сразу с разных платформ (т.е. один человек сидит на PC, а другой на PS4, и они играют вместе).
Инфа была точная - игра доступна на разных платформах, но играть между ними нельзя.
И не важно как и что я назвал кроссплатформой и кроссплеем, учитывая, что тут нету таких точных терминов, да и вообще мы говорим сразу и о английских названиях, и о русском "транслите".
Вы считаете, что моя инфа была неточной - ок, напишите свою, точную, вместо того, чтобы придираться к тому, что написал я.
Будете продолжать в том же духе - сочту за целенаправленную провокацию.
