Poe ошибка failed writing received data

Well, i gave up on trying to download the game through Steam, since the update would reach 50-70% and then start from 0% over and over again.

I currently trying to download the game through the regular game launcher, but guess what? 100-300MB going through, and then the downloader just stops until i restart the bloody thing.

So, ist there any other official third option left to download this game?

You can download direct from GGG after registering , you could try disabling firewall and trying steam again, make sure steam is on your allowed list

Try to disable snake-oil software that might interfere with data access first. Check logs to see if they help you with a cause for the problems.

Well, this comes from the Client.txt in the Logs folder:
. Error: Timeout was reached while downloading.
. Error: Failure when receiving data from the peer while downloading.
. Error: Timeout was reached while downloadin.
a whole list of warnings/errors regarding different files that couldn't be downloaded.

And there's no "snake-oil software" on my Notebook, McAfee LiveSafe is active and updated, i'm also very carefull with what i download/install, since this HP Omen 17-cb0310ng is my latest Notebook.

I have no problems with downloading other games from Steam or directly through other game launchers - but i'm now giving the Epic Launcher a try, have to wait and see how that goes. Even if that also fails or makes problems, i'll at least get a few more free games out of it.

14 ноя. 2020 в 4:43 And there's no "snake-oil software" on my Notebook, McAfee LiveSafe is active Isn't that some "protection" software as well? If it has firewall capabilities it might just timeout some connections (file downloads) it claims to be unwanted (malicious or whatever). 14 ноя. 2020 в 9:58

Well, why would it only block PoE after a while, and that without any notification? I mean, when it takes action against something, then there's allways a clear message about it.

Anyway, the Epic launcher is now downloading PoE, a bit strange that the installation size is around 28GB, while it was around 26GB with Steam.

Well, it causing problems is apparently so rampant that there is a knowledge base article within steam that states:

Anti-virus applications often interfere with Steam and can cause a range of problems from connection issues to games not launching correctly. Please set your anti-virus to Game Mode or disable it before launching Steam if you are experiencing issues with your Steam games.

McAfee AntiVirus incorrectly identifies some third party game files as malicious and will quarantine the files during the download process. This often results in the message "This game is currently unavailable" when trying to launch the game.

Unfortunately, most editions of McAfee AntiVirus have no way to exclude files from real-time scans, so the only work-around is to disable real-time scans. To do this, open McAfee and select "Virus and Spyware Protection", then select the "Real-Time Scanning" option and click the button labelled "Turn Off".

And yes, the manifestation of issues might be different. still, something to rule out or rule in.

Well, when trying to download the game through Epic or Steam, any little patch will set back the whole download to 0%. And when trying to download through the regular game launcher, it goes cuckoo with error messages after downloading 100-300MB.

And why is the download through Epic bigger then the download through Steam?

Haven't checked the EGS version myself, but there are multiple ways the game can be packed. The standalone uses a proprietary format that probably over-/(pre-)allocates a bit for future use. Also each standalone installation creates that ggpk file on its own and it'll slightly differ depending on when you create it etc (some file orders might be different etc, freed space being used by other files first etc).

If the EGS uses the same ggpk file for every player, it might be bigger than the 32000+ files the steam version consists of. Size on disk may differ depending on your FS's cluster size etc. Fun experiment: Set your cluster size way up (Megabytes or higher) and install PoE through steam.

Also the download itself might use different compression algorithms, different chunking algorithms and sizes, overhead etc.

You still get the same game though. Unless you're interested in tech, it's nothing to worry about

* there is a steam beta update from 2020-11-05 (UTC) that changed something with preallocations, don't know if it hit production yet

Well, i just checked, and i have 408GB of 931GB free space on my HDD. that should be more then enough, right?

And downloading the game through the regular game launcher would be great - even after an update the download just resumes without removing any progress - if i hadn't to babysit it and check on/restart it every hour.

Anyway, last try through Steam again, have to wait and see if that one goes from start to actual finish without restarting again somewhere in the middle.

I was having the same problem too.
Figured it out tonight though from researching other posts.
First off you want to make sure your fire wall is not blocking the game, after you are sure that is not the problem this is what you do:

Download that and save it and then copy/paste it into the game directory. Once that is done you might still get a game crash when the game says "connecting"

If this is the case go into the games directory and delete the client.exe file and then rename the file client.tmp to client.exe

This should fix the problem. Also if you are on windows seven and cant get to the games directory just right click on the game shortcut go to properties and click "open file location."

Hope this helps.

The first step we would recommend would be a Pack Check.

After that if you receive an error about PathOfExile.tmp, you would need to delete your PathOfExile.exe file, and rename your PathOfExile.tmp to PathOfExile.exe, and then try once more.

Patch 1.1.4.1
In my case after replacing downloaded files several times and passed patch window. Then it said "PathofExile.exe" in the error message window instead of Client.exe so I deleted PathofExile.exe and renamed .tmp to .exe and viola ! it worked.

Edit @1.1.4b
had no issue while checking/updating files but error at replacing PathofExile.exe on "Connecting. " message.
Fixed by mannually deleting PathofExile.exe and renaming PathofExile.tmp to .exe

I had the same thing and I right clicked on my PoE client and ran it as administrator. Then it finished the update.

thanks, that definitely helped. for any one else with the same issue, if you download the file and put it in your game directory, launching poe may result with a similar error but with a different file name, so you can repeat the same process until there are no more error messages.
re-installing the game would probably also do the trick.
hope that helps someone
