Соответствующие данные появились на аккаунте XboxNews в Twitter. Автор учётной записи сравнил размеры трёх проектов: Sea of Thieves, DIRT 5 и Gears 5. В первом случае результаты получились самыми впечатляющими. Пиратский многопользовательский экшен от Rare «весит» на Series X 47 Гбайт, а на Series S — всего 17 Гбайт, то есть на 64 % меньше. Британская студия Codemasters тоже провела оптимизацию в своём гоночном симуляторе под младшую консоль Microsoft нового поколения. На ней DIRT 5 занимает 56 Гбайт (на 23 % меньше), тогда как на Series X — 72,5 Гбайт. В случае с Gears 5 результаты следующие: 39 Гбайт на Series S (на 39 % меньше) и 64 Гбайт на Series X.
Теперь остаётся только узнать, будут ли сторонние компании заниматься похожей оптимизацией, или же уменьшать размеры станут только внутренние студии Microsoft и её партнёры.
Xbox Series S и Series X поступят в продажу завтра, 10 ноября. Цена первой консоли составляет 26 990 руб., а второй — 45 590 руб.

Отличный подход. Но, скорее всего так будут запариваться только внутренние студии, а мультиплатформа хуй положит. Алсо, от дуалсенса примерно того же ожидаю.
Всё зависит от того, насколько просто это делать.
Не, тут дело не простоте, просто лень зарешает. Эпикам несколько лет было впадлу почистить клиент фортнайта от неиспользуемых ассетов, в куче игр от разных разработчиков до сих пор находят неиспользуемые текстуры, модели, звуки, даже целые уровни. Лень все победит. ред.
