It wont happen because pc version is always ahead of consoles 😏😏 and because they are seemingly different. Syncing these 2 versions would probably be so much of a hazzle that it's not realistic

It's syncronisation over 3 platforms, pc PS and xbox for proper cross platform play and both the console versions are behind the pc one.
Technologically it is possible as games already exist that cover all major platforms however the pc versions always have an advantage be it high dpi mouse settings, custom config files and so on.

Keeping away from cross platform play means people are on equal footing with one another, has anyone considered that the devs are looking for equality amongst the player base when not persuing cross platform play 🤔🤔🤔

It's syncronisation over 3 platforms, pc PS and xbox for proper cross platform play and both the console versions are behind the pc one.

The consoles are not that far behind as the submission process doesn't take that long so 5000 bugs is a comical claim.

Not because they are different versions but they handle differently. The inventory system for one is different. So combining the 2 versions would most likely lead to a lot of item-and-inventory related desync and exploits. It's not really worth it to cause so many issues with so little in return. The point made concerning balance is fair aswell. Most PC's can run the game on far better graphical settings with greater performance than consoles. PC players also have the added benefit of the mouse controls. All in all, console and PC versions couldnt be combined. and even if they could, shouldn't be

Shooters are, for the most part, best kept separate. The balancing issues that would come from crossplay between console and PC would just be too much to work with.

Many of us would *love* platform play, but there are issues and differences, although the games look the same.

And not just gameplay ones.

Literally the only difference is that, instead of a grid layout, an item has a numerical value for the amount of space it takes up and they are arranged in a list. Essentially, they both function the exact same.

How would that cause duplication glitches? You can't put anymore items into a backpack on the Xbox than on the PC. The layout is the same, the functions are essentially the same, and there is really no problem ultimately. They could very easily just change the PC version's inventory to the extremely similar Xbox version.

The way you describe the inventories is drastically over exaggerating the miniscule differences between them. The only difference between the two of them is that the PC has a grid system and the console has a list system. That miniscule amount of difference isn't anywhere near enough to say they wouldn't be compatible with each other.

You also seem to have no experience with the history of duplication glitches in this game specifically. As far as I'm aware, every single duplication glitch that has ever existed in this game has been tied to the server not updating player/ground item data equally. For example, the most popular duplication glitch in the legacy DayZ was to drop your stuff before a server restarted. The server would properly update the items being dropped on the ground, but wouldn't sync the character data after the restart. What that resulted in was the game spawning you in with the same gear and the stuff on the ground still being there. This was completely independent of the inventory, as well as every other duplication glitch this game has ever had.

Console inventory is shapeless. i wonder how you did not realize it during the comment you wrote. Ofcourse it can be pulled of flawlesly. anything can be done, given enough time. The fact that youre combining a shapeless inventory with a shaped one does some extra issues on it. Either you have to create some sort of middle-point, which would take a lot of thinking and extra logic that would probably introduce bugs and exploitable loopholes or "console downgrade", essentially downgrade the PC version to match the Console version. which is probably something that would make me drop this game for ever. Console downgrades are the most scum thing you could do. It's jsut a way for developers to say "we dont care about the PC users". Neither option is perfect.

Every time someone has to think ind development. there can be a logic error that leads to an exploit. Less thinking, less logical errors.

Nobody knows what WOULD happen for sure. I encourage to read my comments before you make any more strawmans.

DayZ - Bohemia прокомментировала кроссплей и релиз игры на PlayStation 4

На прошлой неделе Bohemia Interactive объявила о том, что многопользовательский сурвайвл-шутер DayZ доберется до владельцев Xbox One в 2018 году. Ранее проект был официально анонсирован и для консоли PlayStation 4, однако в своем новостном обновлении разработчики ее не упомянули, что вызвало беспокойство о релизе на этой платформе.

Чешское издательство Bohemia Interactive провело реструктуризацию команды разработчиков, отвечавших за многострадальную DayZ. В частности, была существенно сокращена команда по техподдержке (людей перебросили на другие проекты).

Кроме того, стало известно о закрытии студии в Братиславе. Хотя представители Bohemia Interactive заверяют, что поддержка DayZ продолжится, инсайдеры утверждают обратное.

Что касается озвученной разработчиками дорожной карте, то она посвящена исправлению багов, повышению стабильности, доработке геймплея и расширения функции по поддержке модов. Из нового контента в блоге упоминается оружие.

DayZ изначально существовала в виде бесплатной модификации для ArmA 2, которая сникала настолько большую популярность, что геймеры начали ради нее покупать игру Bohemia Interactive. В итоге чехи купили команду и права на игру, а также объявили о планах выпустить DayZ в качестве отдельной игры.

В итоге эпопея растянулась на несколько лет, а многие игроки потеряли к находившемуся в ступоре проекту интерес. Позднее DayZ все же выпустили из Steam Early Access и портировали на Xbox One и PS4. Также состоялся релиз крупного апдейта Livonia.

Кроссплатформенный прогресс позволяет вам играть в игру на ПК, консоли или мобильном устройстве, сохраняя прогресс и коллекцию на всех устройствах. Если речь о платной игре, кроссплатформенный прогресс не означает, что вы можете купить игру на одной платформе, а затем играть в нее на другой платформе.
