It mentions to aim for teams with same-element characters due to same element characters gaining energy easier so they can hopefully get to the point of using bursts off cooldown.
How does that work? When gathering the orbs during combat do they increase the energy level of all characters of the same element type on your team? So if your fire element character is out when the orbs are absorbed, all fire element characters have their energy increased or something while the characters of a different element do not?
You can gain energy by dealing damage and killing enemies or by using skills (and hitting enemies with them). Dealing damage and killing enemies generates clear orbs that give energy to the entire team. Not sure if they give the same amount across the party or more to the present unit. The energy particles gained by using skills have a colour based on the element and give energy to all units. The present unit will gain more energy and any units with the corresponding element will gain more energy.
Could be wrong but I think if you had a pyro unit pick up a pyro particles, other pyro units in your team receive about 75% of the energy. Units with different elements receive less, around 1/3 I think? These are ballparks but basically units will receive more energy from the corresponding type particles. Hope that helps.
