Base Building [ ]

Base Building equipment refers to a variety of items and tools that are used in the construction and fortification of a survivor camp. A combination of tools, resources and Base Building equipment are needed in order to construct a fortified camp. With or without a fortified camp, survivors can use several items for storage, including things like tents, barrels or chests. There are also several options for adding functionality to a camp: generators, camouflaged netting, construction lights, battery chargers, etc.

Balaclava

Three hole balaclava differs from ski mask with additional opening for the mouth. Still useful in cold weather. — In-game description

The Balaclava is a full head cloth mask that covers the entire head down to the base of the neck, with openings in the front for the wearer's eyes and mouth. It protects the person wearing it from cold temperatures, as well helps to conceal their identity.

The green and beige balaclava variants are the best for camouflage as they hide your face and blend in with the environment. However, balaclavas can also get wet, causing your character to become colder.

Equipment, the largest of the four primary categories of loot in DayZ Standalone, refers to any item or tool that can be worn or used for specific purpose. Since equipment covers such a vast array of item types, uses and consumability, it is easier to define what equipment is not. Equipment does not include items used for who nourishment. Equipment does not cover natural or man made resources used for crafting like sticks, large- and small stones, feathers, planks, etc.. Finally, equipment does not include items whose primary use is as a weapon. Although weapons are not classified as equipment, a lot of equipment, namely tools, can be used as weapons in DayZ Standalone. Being such a large and broad category, equipment is broken down into several smaller categories, which may in turn have their own subcategories, based on the item's primary use.
