The heavily-armored Adamantoise will repeatedly heal its group and can blind party members, making for a potentially long battle. Adamantoises sometimes cast Protect and Shell on each other. They attack with claw swipes and Sandstorm that hits all party members.
Adamantoises are important enemies for the items they carry: Whisper teaches Quistis White Wind; Orihalcon teaches a Guardian Force the support ability Vit+40% and Adamantine teaches Vit+60%, refines into Steel Curtain items (20 needed) for Auto-Protect, and is also required in modeling Squall's, Zell's and Selphie's ultimate weapons.

Defeating an Adamantoise with Degenerator.
The player can lower the monster's defenses with Meltdown. If Irvine is in the party, his Limit Break, Shot, is useful, as his AP Ammo ignores defense. The fastest way to defeat an Adamantoise is to use Quistis's Degenerator.
An easy method to defeat Adamantoises is to inflict them with Berserk, preventing them from healing and using defensive spells.

Before the advent of alloys made by Man, adamantite was for many years the strongest metal known. Even today its quality and strength are peerless, save for a handful of rare alloys. That is why they tell of the fool who swallowed a shard of adamantite, only to have it cut its way out of his belly. A salutary tale, to be sure!

Adamant Isle Grotto
The father will award Cecil with the Adamantite ore if brought a Rat Tail. This can then be taken to Kokkol's house with the Mythgraven Blade and refined into the Excalibur. After bringing him the Pink Tail dropped from rare enemies known as Flan Princesses, he will give the Adamant Armor.
In the 3D versions, powerful enemies such as the Red Dragon have a slim chance of dropping additional tails, which may be brought to the man at the Grotto for additional Onion equipment:

The Adamantite item is found on the second floor of the Flying Fortress. Once found, it can be taken to the dwarven smith, Smyth, who will forge it into Excalibur.

In the Ancient Ruins, there is a rock of Adamantite blocking the path to the Invincible. Unei later breaks it, after she is awakened by the Noah's Lute.
Final Fantasy IV [ ]
Once the party finds a Rat Tail, they can trade it for Adamantite in the Adamant Isle Grotto. If the party takes this to the Dwarven Smith Kokkol, he will combine it with the Mythgraven Blade to forge Excalibur.

Adamantite is a key item, one piece can be found per each Tale's Challenge Dungeon, located on the dungeon's final altar. Adamantine is an item that teaches a Guardian Force the Vit+60% ability. Some are also needed to upgrade weapons to their ultimate forms. Minotaur's card modifies into 10, and they can also be obtained from Adamantoises.

Adamant Ore is a rare ore found. It can be mined from some of the more out of the way mines, or dropped off of the legendary Adamantoise. Adamant ore can be fashioned into a wide variety of adamant weapons and armor.

The strongest material known to exist in nature. Mention of this metal in the oldest records of Ivalice attests to its long-established uses.
The Adamantite is a rare loot, which drops from Adamantitans in the Cerobi Steppe or Barheim Passage, and can be stolen from the Thalassinon. Two are needed to unlock the Ultima Blade, and one is needed to unlock the Bubble Belt, at the bazaar.
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings [ ]
Hardest known naturally occurring metal, its strength surpasses that of most alloys.
Adamant Ore is a high-ranked Durable Metal that can be Scavenged from Soild Stone in the Feol Warren. It can be used to craft Laevateinn, Divider, Holy Lance, Arcturus, and Save the Queen.

A mineral boasting diamond-like hardness. Functions as a transformational catalyst.
Adamantite is a mineral that costs 220,000 gil to buy. It is used in upgrading equipment. Although its name is very similar to most of the Oretoises (including Adamantoise and Adamantortoise), they cannot be dropped at all.

A mineral boasting diamond-like hardness.
The Adamantite drops from the Long Gui, but the drop rate is low. It is used for various medium-tiered gear and sells for 10,000 gil.
Final Fantasy XIV [ ]
Adamantite is a valuable ore that can only be mined from a floating island in Azys Lla. This rare metal is used to forge some of the most advanced equipment in Heavensward.
Final Fantasy XV [ ]
A fragment of the rare metal contained within an adamantoise's shell. This material cannot be substituted, and thus fetches prices even billionaires would gawk at.
Adamantite is a treasure dropped by the superboss Adamantoise. It sells for 15,000 gil and adds the Limit Break effect to Elemancy.

Adamantite makes its appearance during a post-game area. It can be obtained by defeating the Adamantoise in Gladiators' Hall. The amount given upon emerging victorious is randomized, and can be used to craft Adamant gear, which appears to have the highest stats. Depending on the gear piece to craft, some require an adamantite, others two and even three pieces. It also can be sold for 100,000 gil.
Dissidia Final Fantasy [ ]
Adamantite can be traded for in the Shop for 2,000 gil and a Pink Tail. Adamantite is needed to trade for Adamant equipment.

Не стала в этом ряду исключением и Final Fantasy VIII. Каждый персонаж игры имеет свой собственный набор уникального оружия. О нём и пойдёт речь в данной статье.
Возможности приобретения
Скажу больше, к середине Прохождения Первого Диска можно приобрести своим героям практически все виды существующего для них в Мире Final Fantasy VIII оружия. О том, как это лучше сделать я и расскажу более или менее подробно в следующих главах этой статьи. Но для начала, хотелось бы сказать несколько слов об общих принципах действий по обновлению боевых арсеналов наших персонажей.
Итак, большую часть Прохождения новые образцы оружия мы можем приобретать только в специальных оружейных магазинах, которые, впрочем, имеются практически в каждом сколь-нибудь серьезном городе Final Fantasy VIII. С получением Стража Думтрейн (Doomtrain) необходимость посещать данные магазины и вовсе полностью отпадёт благодаря его уникальной Способности Junk Shop. Но одного наличия доступа к оружейному магазину для покупки новых видов оружия мало. Как уже говорилось выше, необходимо предварительно собрать полный набор компонентов, требующихся для создания того или иного вида оружия. Только тогда в списке оружейного магазина вы увидите соответствующий лот и сможете его приобрести за достаточно умеренную плату.
Добывать необходимые для создания оружия предметы можно по-разному, но самых простых и доступных метода всего два. Во-первых, нужные предметы можно получить путём переработки Карт через уникальную Способность Card Mod Стража Квазакотла (Quezacotl), ну, а сами Карты выигрываются в карточных поединках либо добываются в реальных боях. Подробнее об этом можно прочитать в первой и второй частях статьи «Карточная игра в Final Fantasy VIII». Там же вы найдёте и все варианты трансформации Карт в предметы и магию.

Осталось добавить, что Уровень встречаемых врагов практически всегда напрямую связан с текущим средним уровнем вашей команды, а, если быть предельно точным, то формула расчёта уровня вражеского юнита допускает двадцатипроцентную погрешность в плюс или минус:
Уровень врага = (Сумма Уровней членов группы) / 3 +- 20%
У каждого правила есть исключения, имеются они и в данном случае. Так, свои собственные Уровни имеют ряд встречающихся нам во время Прохождения игры Боссов. Плюс есть несколько регионов, где Уровни вражеских отрядов будут фиксированными. В частности это касается следующих мест:

Остров у Рая (Island Closest to Heaven)

Кроме того, вы можете увеличить или уменьшить Уровень противника с помощью уникальных Способностей LV Up и LV Down Стража Тонберри (Tonberry).
В общем, возможности по получению необходимых ингредиентов для создания Оружия достаточно обширны, и, в конечном счёте, именно вам решать, в каком направлении сосредоточить свои усилия. Я же в следующих главах этой статьи дам советы, как раньше всего приобрести те или иные образцы оружия для главных героев Final Fantasy VIII.
Squall Leonhart
Скволл сокрушает врагов легендарным мечом Gunblade, который позволяет дополнительно стрелять пулей во время атаки, и, соответственно, урон получается в полтора раза больше. Для выстрела нужно сразу после того, как раздаётся свист меча в воздухе, нажать кнопку E. Кроме того, все модели Gunblade'а имеют точность удара 255%, так что Скволл наносит урон в боях даже ослеплённый магией Blind. С самого начала игры Скволл имеет самую простую модель стреляющего меча под названием Revolver.

Меч Flame Saber представляет из себя компиляцию пистолетной рукоятки от Shear Trigger и острого лезвия от Cutting Trigger. Овеянный легендами и ореолом Величайшего оружия Мира Final Fantasy VIII меч Lion Heart способен существенно изменить характер, как многих сражений, так и всего Прохождения игры. Завершающая Лимитная Атака с одноимённым названием позволяет Скволлу нанести семнадцать сильнейших ударов, от которых врагов не спасёт никакая защита. Не удивительно, что скорейшее получение этого идеального инструмента войны является одной из главных целей для геймеров. Одними Картами первых пяти Уровней тут не обойтись, ибо для создания Львиного Сердца необходимы по-настоящему редкие предметы. Тем не менее нет ничего невозможного и, при должном усердии, Lion Heart можно получить на Первом Диске. Существует как минимум два пути…
При стандартном Прохождении основной упор нужно делать на трофеи после побед над определёнными монстрами. Первой такой целью может стать Тирекс (T-Rexaur), обитающий в лесах Баламба и Тренировочном Центре родного Сада. Если убить ящера с 20-го по 29-й Уровень с вероятностью в 20% можно получить 6 предметов Dragon Fang.
Второй целью для нашей боевой группы может быть Адамонтоис (Adamantoise), победа над которым даёт очень ценный предмет Adamantine. Уничтожив черепаху в промежуток с 20-го по 29-й Уровень мы можем получить искомый трофей с вероятностью 4,7%. Не много, конечно, а вот если прокачать персонажей выше 30-го уровня, практически каждая победа над этим монстром будет приносить один Adamantine. Осталось добавить, что раньше всего найти Адамантоиса можно на пляже рядом с городом Доллет (Dollet), но, к сожалению, встречаются они там довольно редко.
Если вы во время стандартного Прохождения не смогли найти Adamantine и Laser Cannon, то можете воспользоваться двумя предыдущими советами, а вот Драконьи Клыки при помощи Карт никак не получить. Однако вспомним, что до 20-го уровня Dragon Fang очень просто выбиваются из Грендлей в небольшом лесочке рядом с Садом Галбадии. Уровень нашего отряда мал, так что необходимые четыре Драконьих Клыка будут добыты довольно быстро.
Таким образом, к моменту окончания Миссии с Могилой Неизвестного Короля у нас будут собраны все необходимые детали для Львиного Сердца, а сам меч можно будет купить в оружейном магазине Деллинг-Сити.

17 years after the events of Final Fantasy IV, the cave appears connected by land to Mythril and is much larger, no longer being home to the tail collectors. Biggs and Wedge accompany Ceodore here, and Ceodore must brave the trials of the cave alone to claim his proof of knighthood.
