Hey guys does anyone know how to fix this runtime error?

I have re-installed the redists and redownloaded my game many times and I know that my mods aren't the problem because I have this problem even with vanilla.

Download Visual C++ Redistributable installers from MicroSoft. You need the x86 versions of 2008 and 2008 SP1.

If still not, than run a very thorough malware/virus check, preferably from an antivirus boot cd downloaded and burned on another PC…

Thanks for the reply. I have run a very thorough malware check and there was no problems and I should have also mentioned that this is the only game I have this problem with. And I have re-installed the 2008 x86 redistributable and the problem persists. Yeah. I've had this problem for a while now and it's nagging me because I now have the hardware to run the game with enb, texture mods and so on. I've checked like every google link and contacted support and so I guess it's probably time to take it into the shop and run some diagnostics. But thanks for replying. I appreciate it.
Well, we are normally trying to help, but when it comes to problems regarding outside of the game engine's internal limitations and game content, it usually comes down if someone has any experience in IT or just in that field of Windows troubleshooting. Does the Windows Event log show anything interesting? There's also Dependency Walker, which shows you exactly what what file is the problem/ Trouble is it's pretty complicated to understand if you don't have the know-how:

С помощью этого метода ошибка исправляется просто и быстро. Причина в этом случае кроется в имени учетной записи. Если она на кириллице (русский язык), возникает ошибка такого рода. Нужно просто создать дополнительную запись на латинице (английский). Для этого:

«Панель управления».
«Учетные записи и Семейная безопасность».
«Учетные записи пользователей».
«Управление другой учетной записью».
В новой вкладке окна добавляем нового пользователя с именем на английском языке.
Перейти в новую учетную запись.
Запустить приложение.

Иногда помогает переименовать каталог с кириллицы на латынь. Например с C:\Игры на C:\Games

Got a strange problem suddenly arisen in my game, I am in Lonesome Road near the part where you get Rocket's Red Glare and the Laser Detonator. My game has suddenlly started suffering from a noticeable drop in FPS.

Anyway I can play for about a minute before I get the popup window saying :

I have tried 3 tips:

1- Running vcredist in the FNV files
2- Downloading Microsoft C++ from the Microsoft site ( I think I got the right thing here but it involved downloading a program called "Visual Studio"?)
3- Adding script extender to the game

I have also searched for related problems but to no avail.

A script is doing an invalid call. Visual C++ is just he language the scripting engine's interpreter was written in for the Windows version.

Assuming you do not have any mods, do a file revalidation, since it is the Lonesome Road ESM that is corrupted. If you are lucky. If not, then some script inside the game had a very nasty hiccup and you cannot do anything about it beyond starting a new character.

Just to clarify, do you mean to verify the integrity of game files? I just did this and it said there was one file missing which would then be reaquired.

Outside this I'm not sure how to do a file revalidation, could you give me some pointers?

And yeah no mods are installed, just playing the vanilla game.

One file always fails teh verification, it is a failsafe.

Then it seems a script got borked. Sadly, it can happen. :(

So I started the game from scratch but things are much worse, I'll try to keep the description brief:

I reinstalled it and I'm getting slightly lower FPS, enough that it slightly affects the gameplay. However this is not the worst part. Now the scripts fail to run in sequence. So in the start I have to press "escape" to bring up the menu then again to return to the game in order for the next dialogue line to run. Obviously in the start Doc Mitchell says a few blocks of dialogue but he'll only say one at a time, I have to press esc to prompt the next line.

My game is butchered but I didn't do anything to mod/change it, what could you recommend?

How can I fix Fallout: New Vegas crashing or freezing?

1. Run Fallout in compatibility mode

Press the Windows key and E at the same time to open File Explorer.
Open the Fallout: New Vegas folder.
Right-click the Fallout.EXE game file and select Properties.
Next, click the Compatibility tab shown directly below.
Select the Run this program in compatibility mode checkbox.
Select Windows 7 on the drop-down menu.
Press the Apply button.
Click OK to exit the window.

2. Edit the Fallout.ini and Fallout_default.ini files

First, open File Explorer.
Then open your FalloutNV folder.
Right-click the FALLOUT file and select Open with.
Select to open the file with Notepad.
Find the bUseThreadedAI=0 setting in the file.
Change the bUseThreadedAI=0 setting to bUseThreadedAI=1.
Press Enter after bUseThreadedAI=1 to add a new line.
Then add iNumHWThreads=2 in the empty line just beneath bUseThreadedAI=1.
Click File to open a menu.
Select Save on the menu.
Next, open this path in File Explorer: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas
Right-click Fallout_default.ini and select Open with to open the file in Notepad.
Modify the Fallout_default.ini file in exactly the same way you edited Fallout_default.ini as outlined in steps five to eight.
Then save the file.

3. Install the New Vegas Anti Crash (NVAC) mod

Download the mod and extract contents

Move content to the right folder

4. Adjust display settings for Fallout

5. Reinstall Fallout: New Vegas

Those are some of the resolutions players have fixed Fallout: New Vegas crashing and freezing with.

That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re guaranteed resolutions for everyone, but those fixes are certainly worth a try.
