Failed to initialize 3d audio rome total war как устранить

Обновлено: 05.07.2024

Failed to initialize SmartAudio. The application will exit.

Get the message of "Failed to initialize SmartAudio. The application will exit" message keeps coming up after upgrade to windows 10 version 1909. Click OK and the message re-appears in less than a minute, again.

I have looked for several ways to get this message to stop coming up. I have tried several things to get this message to stop showing up and have not been successful.

Anyone have any ideas?

Uninstall and reinstall Conexant SmartAudio HD Driver to fix the issue.

Conexant SmartAudio HD Driver is not listed in device manager or programs and features. Is there a way to manually uninstall?

Have you checked Control Panel?

I shall suggest you to uninstall audio driver and it's application from Device Manager > Reboot > Reinstall audio driver.

I have uninstalled the Synaptics HD Audio driver before but not the Intel(R) Display Audio. This time uninstalled (removed software from device too) both, rebooted, and the message came back up. The Sound, video and game controllers section in Device Manager has both Intel and Synaptics in it. The Audio inputs and outputs section in Device Manager has all four of the devices (headphones, speakers, and 2 monitor speakers.

The big thing is that i cannot get this message to go away.

I have also removed all that I could from the registry for "SmartAudio" and the message still came up.
ran windows updates several times. HP updates for the drivers and hardware.

Not sure what else I can do but reimage.

Can you go for a clean boot?

Clean boot allowed me to find two services CxAudioSvc and CxUIUSvc Services that were running. I disabled these services and the error message is no longer there. I checked and Windows Audio Service is still there. I had someone listen and we tested the audio, it worked.
I am going to leave the two services disabled for now. THANKS EVERYONE!!

Failed to initialize 3D audio

Hi.
Last week when I attempted to start EB I got the message "Failed to initialize 3D audio". I did not have time to look into it right then, and since then I have successfully been playing EB on a different computer.
Now however I have returned to the same computer, and I keep getting this message that prevents me from playing my beloved game.
I have never experience any prior problems with EB on this computer, nor have I recently installed or re-installed EB, nor made any sort of changes to my audio system, driver, speakers or anything at all that could possibly have any effect on the initialization of the 3D audio.
I have searched the forums for an answer, and found several threads with people asking roughly the same question, however no clear answer was ever given in any of these threads and I have tried all that was suggested, including checking my 3D system, sound management, cleaning the disk and laser reader, rebooting, just about everything, but it still does not work.
Please help me, Im going crazy without EB.

Have you checked whether you're missing mss32.dll? It's been reported about 10-20 times by others, so you might want to check. If it's missing, you can get it from the EB FTP.

3D audio means surround, I presume.

I do see that you haven't mentioned whether you use Vista though. Do you, and if so, have you installed under Program Files? It's known to corrupt EB whenever it's least convenient.

Have you run the validation tool? What does it say?

At the risk of asking yet another question that you mean you've answered fully, have you installed Nero or any other program?

No, I am not using the game destroying software called Vista.
Yes, I have Nero installed, but I had it installed long before EB, and I played many happy hours of EB with it.

Edit: Wrong by me, I do have a mss32.dll file, it had just somehow managed to get lost in the Recruitment Viewer map when I made backups for my re-installation, but I assume it should be in the main RTW folder?

YEEEEEESSS. It works. I love you Bovi.
Strangely enough, instead of playing EB I have spent the last 15 minutes doing some crazy happiness dance to The Clashs Rudie Cant Fail. Shame on you for making me dance for the first time in months.

See my sig for how to get RTW uninstalled in order to install it again.

Create a new help thread if you're still having problems after reinstalling.

1. Are you facing any audio related issue in your computer?

2. Is the issue specific to the ROME total war game?

3. Have you made any changes on the computer prior to this issue?

Try to update latest audio drivers from the manufacturer website and check for the issue, still issue continues follow the mentioned methods:

Tips for fixing common sound problems

If there is no sound when you play an audio or video file then try the link:

Thread: Started as "Failed to initialize 3D audio"

Started as "Failed to initialize 3D audio"

Just over 2 days ago I wanted to upgrade to EB1.1 from EB1.0 and I was going for a clean install.

(I have never had problems running Rome,Barbarian Invasion,MTW2 or various Mods before that day. I am still using Windows XP.)

In any event went to the add remove programs and removed EB1.0.then tried to just run RTW1.5. and I got the "Failed to initialize 3D audio". I then went to add/remove programs and uninstalled Barbarian Invasion and RWT1.5 as well thinking I'll just reinstall the game and all will be right with the world. When I put the RTW disk in there was no option to install? Just an option to Un-install and when I clicked on that the uninstall shield would start to boot, then disappear as there is nothing to uninstall anymore!

f you are having problems uninstalling the game you can manually remove it from your machine. First it will be necessary to remove the registry keys the game creates. Please be cautious when working with the registry as it is very sensitive. Deleting the wrong thing can result in complete operating system failure.

1) Click Start then Run.
2) At the prompt type: REGEDIT. The registry editor will open.
3) Click the "+" next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
4) Click the "+" next to SOFTWARE.
5) Click the "+" next to The Creative Assembly
6) Right-Click to delete the The Creative Assembly entry.
7) Click the "+" next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
8) Click the "+" next to SOFTWARE.
9) Click the "+" next to The Creative Assembly
10) Right-Click to delete the The Creative Assembly entry.
11) Close the registry editor.

Once the registry keys are removed, we'll need to remove the game files from your hard drive. These instructions assume you've installed the game in the default directory.
1) Double-click My Computer.
2) Double-click the C:\ drive.
3) Double-click Program Files.
4) Double-click Total War
4) Right-click on the Rome: Total War folder and choose delete.

Remove the RomeTW.ini file from your hard drive.
12) Click the Start button > Find (or Search) > Files & Folders.
13) Search your C:\ drive for a file named RomeTW.ini.
14) The file should be located in C:\WINDOWS.
15) Delete this file.
16) Reboot your machine. At this point the game is completely removed from your system.

Went through all these steps and still no good. There was no Creative Assembly Registry entry. I removed all game files. There was no RomeTW.ini file I found in a C drive search!

So what do I do now?

The only thing I can think of is to "System restore to last Week". Then use the Rome Total war Uninstaller not the add remove programs cotrol panel option and pray there is a difference.
