So, I have Asus TUF A15 (Ryzen 4800H/16GB RAM/1TB SSD/GTX 1660Ti) and I had purchased it last year. It has Realtek Audio Console software and DTS-X software to handle sound management and quality. I wanted to know whether Windows 10 20H2 update has caused any issue with the Audio Jack or sound problem or the DTS-X software.

Like in Windows 10 20H2 update, I am facing problem like sometimes there is no Audio output from the Audio Jack, and also when I run DTS-X software, sometimes it does not respond, sometimes when I select a sound mode from it, after selecting it, the Audio output from the Jack stops completely.

I wanted to know whether this is caused by Windows 10 20H2 update or some other problem?

Here's the steps you can try.

-Press Windows key + X
-Go to Settings
-Click Update and Security
-Click Troubleshooter then Additional troubleshooter.
-Look for Playing Audio and run the troubleshooter.

Once done proceed with these steps.
-Press Windows key + X
-Go to Device Manager
-Expand the Sound and Video Game Controllers
-Look for Audio driver that was installed
-Right click and Update

-Go to Control Panel
-In Control Panel, select Large icons from the View by drop down menu.
-Select Sound.
-Select the Playback tab
-Right click the Speakers and click Enable.
-Right-click it again and select Set as Default Device.
-Right click Speakers and click Properties.
-Click the Levels tab, then drag the volume slider towards the largest value.
-Click on Advance Tab
-Uncheck the box to "Allow Application to take exclusive controls on this device"
-Click OK.

Restart your computer and test the audio.

If issue persist proceed with these steps.

-Press Windows key + X
-Go to Device Manager
-Expand the Sound and Video Game Controllers
-Look for Audio driver that was installed
-Right click and Uninstall

Once uninstalled, go to this link below and download the updated driver.

Once downloaded and installed, restart your computer and observe the audio and test the apps.

DTS audio process settings are unavailable as audio service connection lost

What is the exact model of your Asus device?

As per your manufacturers website the DTS currently supported in these following models below.

DTS: X Ultra supports FX506/ FX706 series (ASUS TUF Gaming F15/ F17),and FA506/ FA706 series (ASUS TUF Gaming A15/ A17) ROG Gaming laptops.

To check the system model proceed with these steps.

-Press Windows key + R
-Type msinfo32 and hit enter.
-Look for the System Model and post it here.

I appreciate your time getting back to this thread, try to uninstall the DTS application in your computer.

Once uninstalled, restart your computer and go to this link below and download the updated application.

Once downloaded and installed, restart your computer and try to open the app.

If issue persists, try to reach out to Asus, because it states in your manufacturers website that the DTS app is currently supporting this models.

Sadly this did not work and Asus who I have contacted don't seem to have a solution so I guess the next question is. Is there an app compatible with Asus Vivobook's that I can buy and use

I found a solution! Search for "Services" in the Windows menu, then look for "DtsApo4Service" under the "Name" field. (The status of this service did not say "Running" for me.) Right click this and hit "Start", so that the Status is now "Running". Then reopen DTS Audio Processing and it should work again.

I tried that but sadly it didn't work for me and I still cannot get DTS to work again like it did when the laptop came out of the box new

Bro first uninstall the DTS Audio Processing App.

Then go to Device Manager and from there in the sound, video and game controllers uninstall the realtek and Intel sound drivers(My was AMD in the case).

Then download the latest drivers from the links given below

Install these drivers and restart your PC

Then download the DTS Audio Processing App -

After I posted the question Asus got in touch and provided the download links you suggest and so I am now in the following position but with another problem lol

I have DTS successfully installed and working if I want to use it

I still have Realtek Audio Console installed and working

The problem I now have is that after successfully re-installing the DTS it has taken over as default sound effects within the Realtek Audio Console and I have lost the various options that were in there when DTS wasn't working.

Ideally I would like to choose what sound effects I use in the Realtek audio console between the ones that come with it and the DTS ones that are currently default

But I cannot change them now and appear stuck with DTS unless I uninstall it again

I would have thought it was possible to switch between the two without uninstalling the DTS but maybe not.

The reason I want access to both is my hearing disability which means I have to switch between various settings to hear certain voices clearly.

DTS Heaphone Not Working on Windows 10 - Resolved

There have been quite a few posts recently about fixes for the DTS Headphone App not working on Windows 10. In particular, most people have a variation of the ASUS Tuf FX505 gaming laptop. This solution should also work for other laptops as well.

I've found several solutions with confusing answers, however I came across this answer that instantly resolved the issue.

Step 1: Uninstall DTS Headphone:X 1.1 on windows

Step 2: Go to Device Manager and make sure your audio drivers have been updated.

Type 'Device Manager' in windows search and open it.

Go down to Sound, Video and Game Controllers, right click Realtek Audio and click update driver.

If it prompts you to restart your pc then restart.

Step 3: Download the later DTS driver from your PC's support site. In this instance I went to the ASUS Support Site.

Step 4: Unzip the driver folder. Right click on DTS_install_HPXv1 and run as administrator.

Step 5: Go back into the ASUS Support and you'll see another DTS Headphone download that's available. It should take you through to the Microsoft Store to install the DTS Headphone app.

Step 6: Once that's installed, go to the 'DTS_HPXv1_UWP_APO3x_Asus_EXT_1.0.18.1_RS5' folder in the driver download file and copy the file 'dtsapo3oemconfig.xml'.

Step 7: Go to 'C:\Windows\System32\DTS\PC\APO3x' and paste the file in there.

IT SHOULD NOW WORK. Remember to restart your pc at the end of this. I hope you found this helpful, best of luck and happy listening!

Если ноутбук на DOS, то будут проблемы с установкой программы для звуковой карты ноутбука, DTS headphone:X.

Программа будет считать, что не стоит лицензионный драйвер

Можно решить через APO Driver этот вопрос

под конец будет с DTS, когда будешь все официальные драйвера и приложения с сайта ASUS качать.

Порядок будет такой:

1) Установка винды (с подключением к wifi, чтобы винда сама скачала как можно больше драйверов);

2) Установка драйверов и утилит с сайта поддержки asus (чтобы правильно работали все модули между собой - не все драйвера найдёт Driver Booster и может неправильно установить);

3) Установка приложений из магазина Windows Store (иначе ты зря купил TUF Gaming - все его фишки работают через эти программы).
