If you find your game in a Developer Mode state, there are two possible reasons and respective fixes:
Having multiple users on the same Windows profile to play DOOM, even if it is with different Steam IDs, can cause this issue. We recommend using individual Windows profiles instead. Save games are held under each individual Windows profile, and sharing the profile between multiple players can cause issues.Activating a console command will put the entire game into Developer Mode, causing any further save progress to be flagged as developer-only. This includes any new Campaign save games created, or any old Campaign save games progressed, even if no console commands were active during the play of that save.
If you make use of the command console, you will need to delete any Campaign save file that has made progress with a console command active and then relaunch the game in order to continue playing without Developer Mode. We recommend moving your existing save game file to a different folder and then restarting the game. When doing so, you should temporarily turn off your Cloud saves in Steam, too. This will avoid Steam replacing the unwanted save file with a backup.

24 мая. 2016 в 12:11У меня та же проблема была,когда прошел чуть больше половины игры.Помогло мне так,я зашёл на C:\Пользователи\<имя пользователя>\My Games\id Software\DOOM\base\savegame скопировал две папки и вставил их C:\Пользователи\<имя пользователя>\My Games\id Software\DOOM\base\generated\temp\savegame ,и сделал на всякий случай проверку целостности файлов.Запустил игру и продолжил с того места ,где закончил.
Ну, знаете, "просто начать игру заново" когда ты на 13 уровне в двух шагах от финального босса не сильно хочется.
Закончить уровень я могу, но уже в режиме разработчика. Правда не уверен что откроются новые сложности, ведь ачивки то залочятся.

Go to C:\Users\Name\SavedGames/id/DOOM
Highlight all subfolders
Cut to new folder somewhere on PC (so above directory is blank)
Launch DOOM
Accept agreement bullsh!t so you can get to main menu selections. This will automatically generate blank versions of save files/folders you just deleted.
Exit Doom
Delete newly created save files/folders
Cut and repaste original folders into original directory.
Relaunch DOOM.
Issue was resolved for me.
I haven't had many issues so far. I have some weird v-sync issue where I go from 60 to 30 in certain areas. This is fixed by rolling back to 365.1 and using AFR2 SLI mode. I still get drops in some areas and sometimes in combat (but not the 30 lock, just normal little drops when a lot of ♥♥♥♥ is going on or a lot of geometry is visible in the distance.)
8 июн. 2016 в 3:56It didnt work this solution for me, i believe it will only work in case you don't have cloud sync, after that you're gone to hell, you must start from beggining the history mode.

Doesn't resolve the issue, that accessing the console for something trivial like changing sens - or God forbid hitting it by accident - will flag you as a cheater again!
It's just ignorance on the dev's, and publisher's part.
Its been weeks and theres no mention of a fix or anything. The only solution is to delete all your saved games, start over, and hope it doesn't happen again (pretty good chance it will). I did it 4x and gave up. The bug just randomly happens, sometimes at the beginning of the game sometimes not until later.
If you get a crash to desktop or anything mid game though, it seems to happen every time.
8 июн. 2016 в 11:50i just had problems with this i think, im sure i fixed it. i thought i would see what fps i was getting so i enabled it in settings, closed game but next session i turned them off. thats when the problem started, i got the msg about dev mode and game closed trying to open snap map. everytime i tried saving the setting to turn fps off, the game would crash and not save it.
in the end i loaded a save, played to a checkpoint, opened settings and turned them off ingame, it didnt crash, i played through the rest of the level to make sure it saved at the end and problem solved. next boot i clicked on snapmap and it loaded like normal instead of closing game, no dev mode msg in sight.

TURN OFF STEAM CLOUD
1. First, locate your save file (the corrupt one). C:/User/name/savedgames/id software/doom/base/savegame.
2. On your savegame0 folder, right click and hit properties. Open the Previous Version tab.
3. Dont restore to that folder but instead to another location.
4. Find the restored folder and copy that into you Doom savegame folder, overwrite the old file (back this up if you ahvent already, just incase.)
5. Delete the profile folder.
Now start Doom. It will ask for licence agreements again and then when loaded in, select campaign.

The bug is hardcoded into the saved games, theres nothing you can do.The saves only get marked by the bug, IF you carry on after getting the notice/message bug that you are in developer mode.
I have made a thread about it some days ago. It works to some, it does not for others. It did worked for me just fine.
Not much different that what already some of here suggested. It is very important to restart PC, as stated by other users in the main pinned thread.
Anyway, hope it can help somehow someone. i never had the bug again once i solved it.

Doom 4 как отключить режим разработчика?
Есть один радикальный метод для отключения режима разработчика в Doom 4. Но важно помнить, что при этом неизбежна потеря сейвов. Итак, первым делом будет нужно отключить Steam Cloud для этой игры. Далее необходимо перейти вот по этому адресу:
отсюда необходимо будет удалить папку DOOM и запустить. Вот таким образом можно отключить режим разработчика.
