Hello from yesterday i have been trying to talk in public chat but it sends the message "Cannot send chat message", and i dont think i can see the chat too. Im not muted since i tried /immuted does anyone know what happened and a solution to this?

Are you able to see other players’ messages? If you’re not able to you may have chat disabled for players in your preferences menu (for clarity, inside of Minecraft itself). To change that, I believe you go to settings > chat settings > preferences > player chat.

What client are you using? I’d suggest then maybe looking for a mod that you could have accidentally changed that makes you unable to send chat messages, and if you can’t find one, try sending a message in vanilla and see if the message still appears.

I was previously on forge 1.8.9 and i just switched to vanilla 1.17.1 and nothing has changed still cant see chat nor send messages

Wait you can’t see chat entirely? I thought you just couldn’t send messages. Do you have chat enabled?

I can see the chat but the messages i cant see (atleast the ones that ive realized so far) are the quest started messages and the normal public chat messages

Hmm can you send a screenshot of your chat settings and preferences? I think I’m missing something here.

i believe this is an issue with the actual settings of your game and not hypixel

can you go into your minecraft settings, hit chat settings, and check to see if chat is set to shown?

Normally when you have chat set the commands only you can't send a message. It will say exactly what it said there in your screenshot. The way to fix it is by going into Multiplayer settings and then enable chat. That should fix your chat.

Make sure you have your Chat on shown in the multiplayer settings.

That happened to me then I it was my day I was in the walls lobby messing around with setting and I see a chat sign

Hello, I am trying to type in game but whenever I do it gives an error stating "Cannot send chat message." I'm able to speak in Whispers/Parties, just not in public chat.

It's likely that you accidentally (somehow) changed your chat settings. If you press ESC and then make your way to your chat settings, you'll have to change the setting that says "Chat: ____" to say "Chat: Shown". At the moment it probably says "Chat: Commands Only" which is why you can whisper and chat in parties. If this doesn't fix your problem, feel free to message me here on the forums and I'll see what else I can do. However, this should fix your problem.
