Buffer overrun detected call of duty что делать

Обновлено: 02.07.2024

I have Windows Vista Home Premium and I have an error that keeps coming up every time I try to access a folder under "Documents" that has all of my media (music, videos, etc..) in it. I can access every other folder but not that one. The error that keeps coming up is as follows.

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's
internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must
now be terminated.

Then has an OK box in the bottom right. Every time I click the ok button my desktop goes blank and any windows I have open go away for a short time then all my desktop icons and some of my windows come back. I've scanned my computer with Microsoft Security Essentials, Spybot S&D, MalwareBytes, and SUPERAntiSpyware and nothing has come up. I also ran Uniblue's Registry Booster. Cleaned my registry very well but that didn't solve the problem either. I tried to find the solution by doing a Google and Bing search but all that comes up is either solutions for an error talking about some kind of iexplorer.exe error or the solution has nothing to do with Windows Vista.

What is causing this error, and how do I fix it? This error is very annoying and it would be greatly appreciated if someone can help me. If you need more info or have any questions feel free to ask.

Thank you very much,
Mr. Dude USA

I can't help you with your problem, but please note the following:

Let me point out that neither I nor anyone else who warns against the
use of registry cleaners has ever said that they always cause
problems. If they always caused problems, they would disappear from
the market almost immediately. Many people have used a registry
cleaner and never had a problem with it.

Rather, the problem with a registry cleaner is that it carries with it
the substantial risk of having a problem. And since there is no
benefit to using a registry cleaner, running that risk is a very bad
bargain.

Win 7? Запусти игру от имени администратора (в свойствах ярлыка) .
Обнови все драйвера, переустанови Visual C++, обнови DirectX.

Backup the executable. Open the executable in a hex editor. Find the string "GL_EXTENSIONS: %s" and change it to "GL_EXTENSIONS: %p".

Buffer overrun detected call of duty что делать

This should fix the whole "Buffer overrun detected!" error that so many people are running into.

1. Go to the game's folder (C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Call of Duty)
2. Change the name of the "CoDSP" file to "mohaa"
3. Open up your Steam Library and click the "+ ADD A GAME. " button in the lower left-hand corner of the window.
4. Click "Add a Non-Steam game. "
5. Click "Browse. "
6. Go to the game's folder and select the newly-renamed "mohaa" file.
7. Click "Open"
8. Go back to your Steam Library and right-click on the newly-added "mohaa" game
9. Click on "Properties" and change the game's name to something more Call of Duty-ish.
10. Use this to launch your game from now on.
11. Profit??

Anyway, I hope this helps. Cheers!

I FOUND A FIX FOR BOTH Call of Duty and United Offensive at the same time!

DO THE REGULAR "MOHAA" FIX FIRST!

1. Copy the entire Call of Duty folder to your desktop.
2. Rename it "Call of Duty United Offensive"
3. In the folder, rename "CoDUOSP" as "mohaa", make sure that the Call of Duty is the default "CoDSP".
4. Drag the folder from your desktop into steamapps>common. It should be there along with your other game folders and the original Call of Duty folder.
5. Just like with the normal "mohaa" fix, go into steam, add a non-steam game, click browse, go to the NEW folder, click the United Offensive "mohaa", and click "add selected programs" in steam. Go to the new shortcut, right click and click "propertires", and rename it to something more like "Call of Duty: United Offensive".
6. Use this to launch it from now on.

If you did this correctly, there should be a folder for Call of Duty and another for United Offensive. In the Call of Duty folder, the singleplayer .exe for Call of Duty should be "mohaa". In the United Offensive folder, the singleplayer .exe for Unted Offensive should be "mohaa". Both "mohaa"s should have shortcuts in steam, and should launch from there and work. If you want to make a desktop shortcut for either, right click the steam shortcut and click the option for creating a desktop shortcut.

Buffer overrun detected call of duty что делать

18 мая. 2014 в 19:50

Every time time I try to start the sigleplayer or multiplayer of Call of Duty I get a buffer overrun error. I tried running it in Windows XP compatibility mode, but that didn't help. I tried looking up some fixes but none of them worked. Here are my specs:

Windows 8.1 64 bit
4 GB RAM
Intel i5-3337U
Intel HD Graphics 4000

go into your game folder make a back up of CODSP.exe then change the name for mohaa.exe . then run mohaa.exe , I don't understand why but it's made the game run for me , well I have the retail so I wonder if the steam version might act different.

to play multiplayer do the same but with CodMP.exe

2 июн. 2014 в 20:53 did you tried what my suggestion? I know it's work with the retail . would like if someone could confirm they can run the steam version this way. but of course changing the file name will force you to run the game without going from the steam interface thru. 3 июн. 2014 в 1:46

Hi there, bought the game yesterday - it ran first smooth for about five hours, after a break I wanted to play again: Buffer overrun.

No changes on hard- or software in that time. Other Quake2 Engine games work fine like MOHAA, RTCW or what else.

Tried all what was supposed on Internet: renamed the file, run it as administrator, xp compatibility mode (these three ones lead to the "steam not found" error.)

Fooling around with the graphics, loading down nhancer (which doesn't work on new nvidia graphic cards (and that means GTX 2XX and above), loading down nvidia inspector, choosing the right profile. Using older graphic cards driver.

Checked the integrety of the game files, reinstalled the whole game, tried different hdds and install paths - nothing worked.

The crazy thing is, that it runs first and than no way. The crazier thing is that the retail one runs even on the same system but not the steam one. If you copy and paste the retail exe in the steam folder, it works from direct hitting the exe fine, but if you try to start it through steam, you get the buffer overrun error. Really weird.

Hello guys, I'm having a very similar problem to you. I bought the game yesterday, it ran fine twice in a row, but the second time my computer suddenly just decided to take a nap: the screen went black and it didn't react to anything I stomped on the keyboard.
So I went 'ok whatever time to go to bed' and forcefully turned it off.

The very annoying thing is that now, when I try to start up CoD, he first says 'your game didn't quit normally' ♥♥♥♥ like that (OH REALLY?), asks me to run it in safe mode. Then he says 'it appears your computer settings have changed do you want to change your settings' blabla ♥♥♥♥ like that. Whether I say yes or no anywhere on those two points, the outcome is always the same: BUFFER OVERRUN DETECTED.

He says that the internal state of my computer has been corrupted. First of all I don't know what the ♥♥♥♥ that means, and since I bought this game yesterday I'm really getting pissed off. I tried reinstalling the game, it makes no difference. I tried to change the name of the CoDSP.exe file, it makes no difference. I copy pasted the Steam.dll file in my cod folder and, although he now doesn't say 'failed to find steam' anymore, he still ends up doing the same routine of buffer error crap. Hell, I even tried some DEF turning on thing I read somewhere else on this community hub.

I AM CLUELESS. ANYBODY, HELP!

Hello there! I added you as a friend and saw that you do not accept random friend requests. So I want to thank you so much for that hint. It worked perfectly :D You are the best and deserve a cookie! :D 5 янв. 2016 в 4:23

I have the same problem too! I bought the steam version of the game a few days ago and it initially worked then it to cease to work so now after the startup splash screen it goes black. Tried all the fixes listed in this forum but no luck. I now have the same problem for CoD United Offensive too. :( Really annoyed now :/
