Рыбная ловля (ориг. Fishing) — навык из игры The Sims 3. Необходим для поимки свежей рыбы и в научной сфере.
Персонажи с чертами характера «Любит природу» и «Рыболов» быстрее развивают этот навык. С чертой характера «Вечное дитя» персонажи могут ловить рыбу в бассейне.
В дополнении «Карьера» персонажи могут зарегистрироваться в качестве частных предпринимателей и продавать выловленную рыбу.
The Sims [ ]
In the original release of The Sims, the only way Sims could have any sort of pet was to have the Poseidon's Adventure Aquarium. As long as the fish were fed daily, and the tank was kept clean, the fish would live indefinitely. The Hot Date and Superstar expansions added large 1x3 aquariums, but these were purely decorative and did not require maintenance. Unleashed added a goldfish bowl that functioned similarly to the original aquarium, though it treated the fish as a small pet that had to be purchased separately while on a community lot.

- каждый персонаж может раз в жизни посетить занятие по рыбной ловле в продуктовом магазине. Стандартная цена — 400 симолеонов.
Кроме того, существуют книги по рыболовству, однако сам навык они не повышают. Эти книги посвящены тому, где можно найти какой-то определенный вид рыбы и на какую наживку его можно поймать. Книги одноразовые, после прочтения они исчезают. Их можно приобрести в магазине. К рыбе в The Sims 3 относятся и другие животные, живущие в воде, например лягушки или медузы.
В основном, рыболовство необходимо для поимки рыбы, которую персонажи используют для приготовления различных блюд. Рыба так же, как и плоды растений, может быть различного качества. Соответственно, чем лучше рыба, тем лучше и блюдо из неё. Рыба не портится ни в багаже, ни в холодильнике. Чем больше вес рыбы, тем лучше её качество. Наловив требуемое количество рыб, гордые и довольные собой, отправляемся к заказчику.

Необычный аквариум в «The Sims 3: В Сумерках»
Дополнение «The Sims 3: В сумерках» принесло не только много интересного в игровой процесс, но также добавило различных вещей в режимы покупки и строительства. Один из таких предметов – Настенный цифровой аквариум – привлекает своей возможностью добавить в обстановку "почти живых", плавающих в стене разнообразных рыбок. Правда выглядит такой аквариум довольно скучновато и плоско. В этом уроке мы постараемся немного "оживить" его – добавить объема, разнообразия и индивидуальности, причем без обязательного использования дополнительных материалов, требуется лишь дополнение «The Sims 3: В сумерках».Для начала выберем место для будущего аквариума. Для установки требуется стена длиной не менее пяти клеток. Выбираем подходящую, переходим в режим строительства (клавиша F3), выбираем инструмент "Стена" и параллельно выбранной стене пристраиваем еще одну, на расстоянии от одной клетки.
Включаем код свободного перемещения предметов: нажимаем Shift+Ctrl+C, в открывшейся строке печатаем Moveobjects on и нажимаем Enter. Переходим в режим покупки (клавиша F2), сортировка "Столы и тумбы > Обеденные столы", и выбираем какой-нибудь простенький столик, который будет изображать нам дно нашего аквариума. С помощью инструмента "Создание стиля" (клавиша R) накладываем на него подходящую текстуру песка или камня и настраиваем яркость/цветность так, чтобы отличие от "дна" нашего цифрового окна было минимальным.
Инструментом "Пипетка" (клавиша Е) делаем нашему столику двух клонов и устанавливаем все три стола в промежутке между аквариумами.
Следующий этап – установка освещения. Включаем код разработчика: нажимаем Shift+Ctrl+C, в открывшейся строке печатаем Testingcheatsenabled true, нажимаем Enter. Далее включаем режим отладки: нажимаем Shift+Ctrl+C, в открывшейся строке печатаем buydebug и нажимаем Enter. Нажимаем появившуюся кнопочку "Отладка" и переходим на вкладку "Разное", на которой выбираем "Настенную подсветку 2х1".
Между стенами устанавливаем по три подсветки на каждое окно аквариума, лицевой стороной к их внутренней части.
Зажимаем Shift+Ctrl и щелкаем по рамке подсветки, в открывшемся меню нажимаем "Выбрать цвет", в следующем меню выбираем один из цветов, например, "Голубой", и в очередном меню – "Этот светильник". Повторяем процедуру для всех остальных светильников, подбирая такие оттенки, чтобы смешавшись, они образовали красивое "подводное" свечение. Я выбрала сочетание голубого, красного и синего цветов, вы можете выбрать что-нибудь иное, по своему вкусу. Обратите внимание: подсветка будет выглядеть наиболее эффектно при отсутствии в комнате солнечного света.
Осталось немного – сделать наш аквариум индивидуальным и неповторимым. Здесь можете дать полную волю своей фантазии – использовать любые подходящие предметы из вашей коллекции, расставляя всё это богатство на столах между стенами: растения в горшках, игрушки и украшения, посуду и статуэтки и т.д. При необходимости можно воспользоваться модом OMSP.
The Sims 2 [ ]
In The Sims 2 base game, the only way Sims could have any sort of pet was to have the Aquabox Five-Gallon Aquarium. The Pets expansion pack added a 1x3 saltwater aquarium called Mr. Maritime, and changed aquariums so that cats could watch them. When bought, these aquariums are empty, and can be stocked by clicking on them and selecting the "Restock" option. Stocking the Aquabox costs §35, while stocking Mr. Maritime costs §300, and Sims may stock them autonomously. The fish must be fed every 48 hours, or they will die. Sims can feed the fish as often as they like, although overfeeding the fish will dirty the tank faster.
Unlike The Sims, Sims in The Sims 2 will not react when fish in an aquarium die, and the game will not give the player any notice that the fish have died. When told to restock the aquarium, Sims will scoop the fish out of the tank, take them to what they consider the nearest toilet, and flush them away, then return to the tank and add new fish, for which they will be charged.
Apartment Life added a large 4x4 aquarium, which was primarily decorative and did not require maintenance, although Sims and cats could still watch it. It is also by far the most valuable modestly-sized object in the game.
Aquariums are considered a decorative object and are located under said category in buy mode.

An aquarium as found in High-End Loft Stuff
In The Sims and The Sims 2, aquarium fish were not separate objects. In The Sims 3, however, they are. Fish, as well as other aquatic creatures like frogs, can be caught by fishing in ponds, rivers, lakes or oceans and placed in bowls or tanks. A bowl holds one fish; an aquarium holds six, which allows fish to reproduce.
If fish are not fed daily, death music will play and the fish will die of starvation (although the Grim Reaper doesn't come). In some games, the fish tank can also turn green to warn the player that the fish need feeding.
