In the Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion and later, players can recruit many companions to join their alliance, including brand new companions and companions from other stories.
If you are a new player, you may want to read the basic Companions Guide first.

I honestly have no idea on how because I did complete the achievement needed to get the companion selected, in this case it was Ranos. So how do I unlock her? I did get the Shae Vizla item to unlock Vizla but not for Ranos. And please don't tell me I have to recruit her through the alliance alerts.
If that's the case then its not cool. I wanted to have her when I made a new toon to level up again.
If you never got an item in the mail in game, saying that you completed that achievement, then you never did.
What is this you ask? If I'm helpful, then click here! Slightly off topic but the voice actor for the Chiss is all wrong. No british accent. Does not fit well with the character. I remember because that's how I got the white armor that looks like Darth Marr's. Or at least got parts of it but you get what I mean. So basically all that time spent on trying to get the new companion resulted in nothing?

If you did not receive the token for Master Ranos in the mail, regardless of whether the mission alert is bugged or not, you did not meet the prerequisite to achieve Master Ranos. She is only available for Eternal Level and Legendary Level players. You are clearly neither of those.All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
If you made it to Eternal level, you should get a token in the mail and an alert mission.
There appears to be a bug preventing people who got Legendary level from getting the alert mission.
If you didn't get a token, odds are pretty good that you didn't meet the requirements.
If you got a token but no alert, you're just bugged like the rest of us.

armor set and mount is for previous tier. check if you have "the eternal victor" title, should have gotten it before the end of event. if you have it and didn't get item for Ranos? that means you need to open a bug report. but if you don't have the title? it means you didn't finish the achievement needed for her
I wouldn't be surprised if titles is what they used for programming reward mail, after wiping actual achievements
So, I've finished Chapter 16, I have in my mail the holocomunicator(meaning I am eligible).
Yet there's no alert.
The holocomunicator says it will happen naturally after ChIX of KotFE.
Looks like not happening for me. Tried 2 different characters.
Any ideas or help appreciated. Thanks.

There should indeed be an alert, named " The light triumphant" one of Theron's alerts.I just got the alert on a character that hasn't even started the new chapters. So the fact that I don't see the alert on any of my KotFE characters means I have it bugged. Nice. >< I am so good I am my own role model. Mine is bugged too. Finished KotET and all other alliance alerts. Her's did not pop up and I haven't used the token to unlock early. I got my alert right after todays maintenance.

Also bugged.
Got the e-mail that contains the summon item, but no Alliance Alert.
Character in question with the bug completed all of KotFE and KotET prior to today (and account meets all the DvL requirements).
Another character that completed KotFE but not started KotET also has the bug.
