This is a Survival Guide for new players. Here, you can learn about some tips and tricks for surviving in SCP-3008. This includes behavior patterns of the enemies, methods of survival and building tips.

Your First Night

If you have time in the day before your first night, any of the following will increase your chances of survival:

Build a shelter to protect yourself from employees.
Find food items, such as Apples.
Find friends or others in the server to survive with.
Build near a Cafeteria or other food source (Preferably).
Build on a set of industrial shelfs (Preferably).

The easiest way to make a base is to build on a cafeteria: make walls and a roof so employees can't get in, and make sure that the walls cover the entire cafeteria. It's the easiest way and you'll never run out of food. Or, you can just make a simple 5-sided base out of any decent building material you can find. Another good way is to fix up an abandoned base.

An extremely important tip is to use waypoints. If you go into the extras menu (T key), you can create up to four waypoints (plus another 4 waypoints if you have the Octuple Waypoints Gamepass). These can only be seen by you and will only go away if you leave the game or delete/hide them. It is advised to make a waypoint on your base, and any other important areas you want to remember the location of.

Finding Your Friends

Working together to build bases and find food can prove very beneficial. Therefore, finding teammates and friends is pretty much required if you need a helping hand. There is one good strategy that works every time, granted that you do it the right way. There are other less effective but acceptable methods of finding people as well.

Main Method

First pick up an object, any object, as long as you can see a white arrow in the middle of the rotation arrows. It is hard to see at first because it is mostly transparent but you should be able to see it eventually. Press ctrl + shift + r to reset the position of the object, or press the reset button on mobile. Then rotate it on the Y axis, or green arrow once. Go to the direction the arrow is facing, and tell your friends to do the same.

If you have done it right, you should be able to meet each other in one of the corners, where you can now work together to survive!

Additional Methods

There is a temporary beacon at a player’s position when they whistle, so wandering around whistling is a way less effective but possible. ( Press H to whistle. Whistles are only available to friends only. When your friend whistles, you would see an exclamation mark and the name. Lasts 3-5 seconds.)

Developing Maximum Security

After the first few nights you should feel comfortable with expansion. Or, if you've already found a base, with building good security.

There are doors in the game, but they don't work properly. There are numerous strategies to creating an area where enemies can't or probably won't get in. Note that:

The easiest way to find it is to go into a Private VIP server, and teleport yourself, with an offset to 804 studs in Y, and If you're lucky, you will teleport near the floating house. The normal way of finding the floating house is by locating the special pillar then building up it until you reach the house. The floating house's flooring should be behind the pillar. You can tell which side is the front and back by locating the pillar numbers.

The exact chance of a pillar becoming a special pillar and containing the floating house is 1.0148137175024%, which is about a 49.73% chance to spawn per server. Be wary that multiple houses can spawn in a single server.

The floating house spawns at an altitude of 800 studs (very, very high), and the pillar it spawns on has a light grey concrete texture at the base instead of black, this is the only way to discern the special pillar. (See below). The pillar is always plain. A good way to tell from a distance is to rule out any pillars that are damaged, have electrical outlets, or ladders and pallets. Before 2.5, it had a brown wood texture to distinct it from the diamond-patterned grey bases of regular pillars. You cannot obtain badges in Private VIP Servers so finding the chocolate will not give you the badge.

The floating house is a reference to the floating sky base in the SCP-3008 Animation.

The floating house is made of normal props and furniture items you would find in the Ikea. There is a chocolate bar inside in the floating house called ("DEN GODA CHOKLAD"), or "the good chocolate". It has a light blue wrapper and is based off of a real Ikea product. As of the 2.6 update, The chocolate gives 3 health and 85 energy points. Storing the chocolate in your inventory gives you the badge, "The Sacred Chocolate". This chocolate restocks twice every Monday and Friday just like all other food items. It is possible to have an infinite amount of chocolate in one server or to collect them. In private servers, you can artificially multiply chocolates by decreasing the day and night times.
