Void Traitor

Void Traitor is a tower unlocked when you beat Hardmode. Only four people are generally allowed to use it per server. As it levels up, it switches out its Battle-axe for different weapons, and bears more resemblance to the later Voids. Void Traitor is a pure melee tower.

Appearance

At level 1, Void Traitor bears similar resemblance to the first version of the Void, with mini towers replacing the zombies on it's torso.

Strategy

  • Void Traitor is an excellent meatshield. It can tank almost anything, and has very high DPS to boot. Use its supporters for even more overall DPS and crowd control.
  • Do not go near any player zombies. They will be able to farm and gain cash off of you, along with dealing heavy damage. Do not let them obtain higher tier zombies, at any cost.
  • When playing as VT, expect to die, many times. Void Traitor will always be under constant damage, and without a Doctor, WILL die eventually. Make sure to get in as much damage as you can before carking it, and use critical storage to your advantage.
    • Pairing up a VT with a Doctor, however, makes for a very good duo. The Doctor keeps VT alive while the VT absorbs all of the damage.

    When using Supporters

    When using Strike

    • VT’s Strike is its long-range attack for levels 4 and 5. It mimics the Void duo’s Strike, and has a very long width to boot.
    • Use Strike for any enemy you do not want to get near. This includes the Lava, Void, or any other Boss with a high-damage punch.
    • Know that Strike can also deal chip damage to slower player zombies, such as Planet, EJ and Titan.
    • Strike has some vertical range too, so try to jump and Strike at any zombie on an elevated surface.

    Against

    Void Traitor is a unique scenario when combating in zombie mode. If the zombie of your choice does not have any ranged attacks, you will be getting hurt by the VT. However, you will also be making a profit, as the VT is melee.

    • If your zombie of choice has any punch attacks, you can potentially kill the VT without getting hit. Make sure to get closer as the VT stops attacking and then punch.
      • When dealing with a max level VT, you will have to time attacks better, as the VT's greatsword has more range.

      Against Supporters

      Against Strike

      Strike punishes weaker zombies more than the VT does itself. Frailer zombies like Lightning or Lava will get obliterated by a strike.

      • Most zombies can just sidestep it as the strike takes a while to ready itself, plus there are warning circles on the ground.
      • Tankier bosses such as King Boss4 can just take the strike as it doesn't do that much damage to them.

      Critical Hit Explanation

      The Void Traitor does not have any opportunity for headshot damage. However, to compensate, this is replaced by critical hits, which VT does every so often after reaching level 3. They are not based on RNG, but rather on a linear pattern. When using a critical hit, at levels 3 and 4, VT will preform a downward slash. The interesting thing to note is that VT can store these criticals.

      • After hitting zombies with its initial strike, the VT will consistently crit the next strike (3rd if Red Menace.) In the case of levels 3 and 4, the VT can store a crit on a taller zombie, and then unleash it on a smaller zombie it could not hit otherwise.
        • The same is the case for Archangels, however since they will always strike downward, the critical is only used for damage.
        • Exclusive to Red Menace, after it crits the first time, it will then critical every other hit until the chain is broken.

        Upgrades

        Void Traitor can now preform critical hits.

        DPS: 450 (assuming continuous hitting)

        Upgrade locked until wave 16

        Can now preform strikes (2000 DMG)

        Increases health (7500)

        Increases Speed (16)

        DPS: 990 (assuming continuous hitting)

        Upgrade locked until wave 25

        Increases swing rate to (.8s)

        Increases speed (17)

        Increases max targets (4)

        Increases health (12.5k HP)

        Adds a shield (12.5K HP)

        Once the shield‘s HP runs out you gain a few seconds of invincibility. This makes your overall health 25000.

        Here is just an easier version of the guide:

        Tower Battles 100% winrate strategy: The Devil Spam

        Note: I created this strategy, and used this in hundreds of games. ***YOUR TEAMMATES MUST DEFEND PROPERLY IN ORDER TO PULL THIS OFF. BE EXTRA COCKY AND SAY THINGS LIKE, "I farm, defend plz, trust me, I will get win", "DEFEND, OR I LEAVE!" or something like it***

        Disclaimer: This strategy triggers the other team.

        Towers required: Farm

        Towers recommended: Farm, Patrol, Commando, Railgun, Zed

        Pre-Wave 1: Place down 2 farms before wave 1 starts.

        Wave 1-6: Place down 4 farms, 3 of which needs to be level 2.

        Wave 6-8: Have down 2 level 2 farms, and 2 level 3 farms.

        Wave 9: Upgrade one level 3 farm to level 4.

        Wave 10: Upgrade other level 3 farm to level 4

        Wave 11: Wait for end wave bonus, and upgrade level 2 farm to level 4 just before Wave 12 starts.

        Wave 12: Finish upgrading your farms to level 4.

        From this point on you will have 4 level 4 farms.

        Recommended you max out 2 farms.

        Then save up until wave 18, and spam the Boss2. Spam for at least 3 waves, (18, 19, 20) for a guaranteed win. Works on any map, borderlands included.

        Patrols are used in emergencies, but is not necessary to have patrol. For example if your team has no defense against hiddens, or Boss1 is about to kill you, spam patrols to decrease damage you take. Sell afterwards.

        Railgun is my favorite tower in game, and the extra damage is really helpful, but it is probably the least important tower in this strategy. It is not necessary to have railgun in this strategy.

        Zed is just for flexing, or if your team needs help with hiddens, like the Hidden Boss, etc. It is not necessary to have zed in this strategy.

        How can you counter this strategy?

        Spam zombies and hopefully kill the other team before they can spam Boss2 at wave 18.

        Have maxed railguns. MAXED railguns. Might be able to kill a couple Boss2, but the lava will just tank for the bosses.

        Have lots of maxed mortars. The are damage by MAXED mortars might be able to take down the bosses.
