Easily one of the best beat them ups I've ever played.
Combat is fun and nicely paced, there's lot of different attacks to unlock and start comboing together. All the bosses are different in how they are fought, the characters in the game are over the top but super stylish and there's a TON of easter eggs and cameos from the River City Rumble games, to the point where you're going to not notice a lot of them.
The music is AMAZING and one of the highlights of the game. Super keen for the sequel.
Incredibly good beat em up. Finished the game on hard with all characters (including secret ones) and got all endings. Here's my thoughts:
-Incredible animations, 2D and pixel art, the artists did an amazing job.
-Banger OST, was pretty much the entire game grooving to the amazing tracks.
-Really cool combat mixing up quick, heavy and special attacks, it was pretty cool trying out all characters variations.
But I have some gripes with some points:
-Picking up items and floored enemies is the same button as quick attacks, and that caused way too many times to pick up a weapon or an enemy when I wanted to start a combo, which led me to get damaged by enemies and even get a couple game overs. Streets of Rage 4 was very smart in having a dedicated button to pick up weapons.
-The waiting: when you get comboed by an enemy you have to wait for them to finish their combo, then your character fall on the floor and then get up. I feel like this can be sped up by allowing the player to fall on their feet, just like Streets of Rage 4 does.
But even so the game was extremely good, I 100% recommend.
Also Kunio is broken as heck.
Also you can defeat bosses in this game by dabbing on them, 11/10.

Этот чувак обычно зависает в больших мусорных контейнерах. Пропустить его сложно, однако профукать выполнение его задания реально. Просто после встречи с ним внимательно осмотрите карту на предмет наличия знаков восклицания, и идите в отмеченные ими области.

Что бы открыть тайного боса, нужно уничтожить все 25 статуй из трофея Smashed Statues и пройти игру, экипировать получены части медальона и придти на место битвы с финальном боссом. (для этого после прохождения игры, при загрузке сейва выберете "Слоняться")
Обычный трофей Очень редкий трофей (14.90%) . Получен 3 из 6 игравших (50%).
Доступна изначально. Вполне можно начать и на ней если хоть немного умеете играть в битэмапы. Ничего сверх сложного, но на боссов крайне советую брать с собой еду, но есть её когда хоть немного приблизитесь к победе и узнаете тактику. Секретный босс не нужен для трофея.
Для тех кто играет на нормальной сложности, просто включите повышенную сложность перед последним боссом, для этого нужно выйти в меню и при загрузке сейва указать сложность.
Необычный трофей Редкий трофей (15.10%) . Получен 2 из 6 игравших (33.33%).
2 новых персонажа открываются автоматически после прохождения игры, но проходить 2й раз игру не обязательно, можно продолжить играть и пойти убивать финального боса, даже если уже прошли игру, когда у нее будет мало хп, просто включите 2й джойстик, выберете любого персонажа парня и добейте боса.

для 100% необходимо:
Пройти игу
Зарекрутировать всех-всех
Разбить 25 статуй
Съесть каждую еду из магазина и купить каждый аксессуар
Купить в Додзе все приемы для 4х персонажей
(2 предмета в секретном магазине по 5000$ каждый - в 100% не входят)
Купил все приёмы для героев, купил предметы в тайном магазине (2шт.) по 5к каждому из героев, собрал все предметы, пробовал еду в каждом магазине трофей не выпал.
Выпал после того как начал собирать рекрутов разных цветов, всё таки рекруты дают % к 100 завершения.
Покупка в секретном магазине обязательна! Обоих предметов.
У меня было 99 процентов. Коты не влияли, зомби тоже.
Самый простой способ набрать деньги - НГ+ Дают очень много денег за квесты.
Дополнительно советую купить кошелек за 250 - продается на пирсе перед Noize/
Трофей выпал без сбора рекрутов-зомби и кошек во втором прохождении. Не уверена, что именно нужно сделать, чтобы добиться 100% прохождения, на зарубежных форумах мнения разнятся.
Мои действия для 100%:
1.Покупка всего, что доступно в магазинах (не уверена, даёт ли % покупка в тайном магазине)
2. Покупка в Додзё всех навыков для всех персонажей
3. Уничтожение всех статуэток.
4. Убийство секретного босса (?)
5. Выполнение всех миссий Умеретто
6. Сбор всех рекрутов, кроме зомби (последних модификаций каждого персонажа-рекрута)
P.S. Вменяемых гайдов на получение 100% до сих пор нет ни на русских, ни на зарубежных форумах. Надеюсь, что моя подсказка поможет получить этот трофей.
Всё выполнил в режиме "Слонятся". Новую игру+ не начинал. Всё в магазинах достаточно купить одним персонажем. В тайном магазине покупать не нужно. Остальное описано в других подсказках

Die in the first room of the game, start the game let the enemy spawns then go get a drink and hit continue when you get back to move on to the rest of the game.

I would be surprise if you didn't get this naturally, but just destroy a vending machine.

Equip a new outfit
Just equip an accessory and you got the achievement, if you somehow beat the game without getting this achievement that is impressive.
Friendly Beatdown
Defeated an enemy by hitting them with another enemy.
At level 6 you should unlock human weapon, this allows you to pick up enemies that are laying down and use them as a weapon for a brief period of time. Just use one to KO an enemy and the achievement is yours.

Catch a boomerang
You can find a boomerang around the third area either in the toy section or the bridge to the third boss, throw the boomerang and parry it when it comes back and you will catch it.
Carpe diem
Defeated an enemy with a fish
You can find a giant fish in the fifth area on the beach, pick it up and KO an enemy and bingo you get the achievement
Help an Old Pal?
Completed all of Godai's quests
There are 5 missions one in every level after the school, after first one keep an eye out for dumpsters and go near it and Godai will pop up and give you a mission finish it. Then as you go to the next zone find him again and rinse and repeat.
River City Ransom
Collect $5000
Pretty self explanatory, but key point you don't need to have it at the same time. You just need to have had a sum amount of 5000 collected. You might not get it in the first playthrough but pretty sure I did so putting it here. But if not, go into loitering mode which is free roam mode and beat the secret boss and you should have enough money.
Smashed Statues
Destroyed all the Sabu statues
There are 25 statues spread through out the game destroy all 25 to get the achievement and an item. Which is one of two items necessary to unlock the secret boss in the free roam mode.

Perfect Parry
Parry 10 enemy attacks
This one can be a bit weird I got it by having 10 parries in one play session, I essentially just went to the courtyard with the volleyballs after you clear the screen lock there, went out and went back in and KOed 2 of the 3 enemies that will spawn there and parrying 10 times on the remaining enemy. That should get you the achievement.

K.O. the Secret Boss
After beating the game you will gain half a heart with a red K, and if you broke all the Sabu Statues you will get the other half of that heart with a blue M. Now go into free roam mode and put both into your accessory slots and enter the final boss room. This will spawn the secret boss. Beat them and you get the achievement and a big in game reward of experience and cash.
TAKE THE WORLD ON
Completed the game on Hard.
You only need to beat the final boss on Hard, you can either play the game on hard or leave before the final boss and set it to hard then fight the boss. Either way you will get the achievement.
A New Challenger
Complete the game with a secret character
You will unlock 2 secret characters after you beat the game the first time, either grind one of them up in new game+ or have them as your second character that you put them into a corner and beat the final boss in the free roam mode and you get the achievement.

Compete the game in Co-op.
Similar to A New Challenger, you only need to beat the final boss in Co-op either plug a second controller and put the character in the corner as you fight the final boss. Can be doen either in the first playthrough or in the free roam mode. You can also do it naturally as it a fun game with a friend but its up to you.
Power Up
Reached Max Level
Max level is 30, you should be at around the low 20's when you beat the game and you should get enough experience beating the final and secret boss a few time for the previous achievements and going through the New Game+ with you highest level character that you should reach the max level.
Renegade
That wasn't very nice
To get this activate friendly damage in the setup so you can damage you co-op partner, KO your partner and you got the achievement. You can do this in actual co-op or just plug in a second controller. Either way works.
You're out!
Catch a dodgeball thrown by your ally
Similar to the boomerang achievement, you do need a second controller or co-op partner but have them throw a dodgeball/volleyball that you can first find in the area to the left as you leave the school and parry the ball before it hits you and you will catch it.

There are a total of 25 Sabu statues scattered throughout the areas. To destroy a statue, you have to keep attacking it until it crumbles. Down below will be a list of where they are all hiding.
