Native DPI and mouse settings
Windows 6
No accel

Change the cursor speed with the program that came with the mouse

Generally speaking native factory settings are the most accurate

19 дек. 2019 в 3:34 I am Logitech G103 Prodigy's user. DPI 850 to play DotA 20 дек. 2019 в 8:58 It doesn't matter in this game.
This is not a shooter game.
Use what you feel comfortable. 20 дек. 2019 в 9:26 6/11 on windows mouse settings, 400 dpi, 250hz polling to have better battery life 20 дек. 2019 в 9:45 Why do you have it so low, that must be agonizingly slow even for outside gaming. 20 дек. 2019 в 9:55 It doesn't matter in this game.

Yes it does matter. I did some small experiments with different cursor speeds.
Pinpoint wards exactly in the middle of the ward high grounds is a bit tricky with my high settings but in chaotic fights I'm really glad my mouse is this fast to select and attack move my units better.

Playing at the upper edge of "controllable" speeds is imo the best.
Playing on a slow mouse is the worst.
I can only speak for my opinion though.

I found this idea to be applicable in other games as well. Like RTS and FPS and now MOBA too.

I usually play at around 800 but I was wondering if thats "normal". What do you play at?

I looked into this very recently, as it happens.

One minute? Do you play in a movie theater? Do you mean 1 second?

i also use 800 because its the native dpi of my mouse (logitech mx518) and i was already used to it from my desktop

im pretty sure you cant change mouse sens in dota, the only way to change it is through your windows settings or dpi setting from your mouse.

i think 400 but my camera speed is kinda high

i have mine at 4400, using a corsair sabre and my in-game camera speed is set to 4600, altough this doesnt matter as i use wasd to move the camera around.

I use fingertip mouse grip

My opinion is that you will have quicker reaction with higher dpi (blinking out of danger, hexing someone). But higher dpi takes longer to get used to and its easier to misclick.

Using 800 because 400 feels so slow when in desktop.

DPI is usually marketing bullshit, most mice with high DPI are crap and most with low DPI are crap too.

Personally, I like a slightly high DPI in 2D and a fairly low sensitivity for first person games, and mostly move with my elbow (and finger-squeeze light movements). A low sensitivity in 2D could be decent for when you need a really fiddly accurate click, but having a no-bullshit mouse that properly takes your hand movements in is the more important part.

What do you guys think?

Oh, thats pretty interesting. Got a link to where aphromoo was talking about this?

Most koreans play on 400 or 800 dpi with adjustments in game sliders. This is not optimal but habbit because sc pros would use 1 out of like three popular mice that all had 400,800 and somemore. Its honestly personal preference tho. Bjerg used to play on like 200 dpi faker plays on like 3000 or something like that deft plays on 800 with 55 ingame. Most korean adcs and doublelift and forgivin play with 1800 dpi and 30 or 35 in game you just gotta get used to whatever you want i personaly use 800 dpi and 30 in game from starcraft which is around 400 dpi

Most pros dont go above 2000 but one of the best gamers ever plays on 3500 Faker then flash Starcraft god uses 400 it also has a lot to do with how you hold your mouse ho 95% of starcraft and most lol progamers hold their mice with a fingertip grip so low dpi can be used fast and precise while if you use a palm grip you will want higher dpi most likely to not break your wrist

sed to whatever you want i personaly use 800 dpi and 30 in game from starcraft which is around 400 dpi

deft uses something through like 3000-4000

Yeah then all the pros that use higher DPI are stupid I guess. It is preference in a game like League of Legends. Faker for example if I remember correctly uses like 3500 or somewhere around that.

I play with 2700 and 60 in game (on all 3 settings).

It feels weird as hell to play on low dpi haha.

I play on high dpi. For FPS games low dpi is necessary, especially when using long range weapons e.g. a sniper rifle. There are a lot of people who came from COD to LoL and swear by low dpi, but low dpi is not critical for league of legends.

I used to play at 4000 dpi early on, went up to 5000, and now I play at 6400 dpi. I have always preferred high dpi and still do. High dpi allows me to not physically tire my hand as I do not need to move the mouse over a large distance for my movements.

DPI at the end of the day is a preference. As long as you know how sensitive the mouse is, you know how sensitive your hand needs to be.

Also the other half of the equation is the mouse mat. A soft mouse mat vs a hard mouse mat will affect the responsiveness of the mouse.

Personally rolling 50 in game with 300dpi. Doubt it matters much though.

I used to play on 6k. Being a left hander learning to use the mouse with my right hand - this was a mistake, but it seemed to work (I figured my inaccuracy was down to my right hand not being used to small intricate "writing" movements). I had used a laptop my whole life (was actually a console gamer, so I never used laptop for gaming) and was comfortable with the high dpi values you get on the trackpad.

Changed to 3k (around abouts) and loved the increased accuracy.
