Бегите в деревню. На пляже встаньте на мостик в самом конце у воды и кидайте Мога в воду вперед. Наша цель - уникальный и редкий монстр Rangda

Второй редкий монстр - Exoray, ловится в локации Tidal Shallows

Though the Archylte Steppe appeared in Final Fantasy XIII, none of the area is reused for Final Fantasy XIII-2, and it is thus effectively a different area.

Fang explains about the Cie'th Stone.

After departing the Vallis Media, the party finds themselves in the Archylte Steppe and comes across a Cie'th Stone. Fang explains it is the petrified remains of an ancient l'Cie, and the party accepts their first mission. They head for the Mah'habara Subterra in hopes of reaching Oerba, Vanille and Fang's home.

Sazh and Fang have chance to talk about Dajh in the Font of Namva, a wetland where chocobos live, but the path is barred by an energy field only dispelled by appeasing a Cie'th Stone. Though Sazh plans to leave his chocobo chick in a flock of wild chocobos, it insists on staying with him. On the steppe the party can witness the colossal fal'Cie Titan walking about the horizon, and if they do enough missions, the oretoises on the steppe evolve into Long Gui.

Quests [ ]

Component farming [ ]

There are several notable "farming" locations for the components needed to level up the Paradigm Pack monsters.

The areas of Stonestump Wastelands and Grave Ridge (Sunny) have plentiful Buccaboos that drop the Grade 3 biological monster component Potent Orb.

In Clearwater Marsh (Rainy), the player can encounter Hedge Frogs, Mud Frogs, Swampmonks, and Caterchipillars, all of which drop Potent Essence, a Grade 4 biological monster component.

In Clearwater Marsh (Sunny), the Microchu spawn in mass numbers, allowing the player to collect many Potent Crystals, as well as the rare item component Sunpetal, making this the best location for farming Grade 5 biological monster components. It is also reasonably frequent during the rainy season, allowing the player to collect a number of Potent Crystals at the same time as collecting Potent Essences.

The Vampire Cie'th on Grave Ridge, Stonestump Wastelands, and the Clearwater Marsh (Stormy), offer a 20% chance of dropping Potent Generators, making them the only realistically farmable choice for this Grade 5 mechanical monster component.

Weather [ ]

Noel examining the weather changing device.

There is a weather-controlling device in the hunters' settlement the player can use after doing an errand for the hunters.

  • Cloudy = Both levers upright
  • Rainy = Left lever upright, right lever lowered
  • Stormy = Left lever lowered, right lever upright
  • Sunny = Both levers lowered

The player can use the golden cactuar waypoint that appears as a tornado on windy weather to teleport the party to the west side of the steppe. Sheep roam the plains in cloudy weather. Stormy weather causes only Cie'th to appear on the plains.

See the Enemies section for what enemies spawn in each weather.

The three Gigantuars [ ]

To unlock the Time Gate covered with chaos found on the steppe, the player must defeat three Gigantuars. These are the cactuar statues found in the Archylte Steppe. One is found on the Stonestump Wasteland in any weather. There is another in Clearwater Marshes (northeast) behind a rock. It needs to be uncovered with Moogle Hunt in sunny weather. A third statue is found in Clearwater Marshes (Central) that needs to be uncovered with Moogle Hunt in rainy weather.

Areas [ ]

Travel Guide: Archylte Steppe Area Information

The Archylte Steppe is a broad plain located in a remote corner of Pulse. The few explorers who reach the steppe return with reports of a tribe of fiercely independent nomadic hunters who have lived off the land here for centuries, cut off from the rest of human civilization.

The actual location has not been made public, but tourists with a bent for adventure might consider renting an airship and putting together their own expedition.

From the Editor's Desk:

Some believe that the hunters are descendants of the original inhabitants of Pulse, while others claim they are a lost tribe of Cocoon. If you could get close enough to win their trust, they might tell you their story.

Serah and Noel trying to solve the paradox.

Serah, Mog, and Noel travel to Archylte Steppe to fix an anomaly affecting the Sunleth Waterscape 300 AF, and find themselves in a sandstorm-filled field. They come across a hunters' settlement that has a weather-changing device. The chocobo breeder mentions that she and the others were previously citizens of Cocoon who had to acclimate to life on Pulse, though they were initially fearful of the transition.

Battle against Faeryl.

After earning the hunters' trust by defeating a pack of Goblins and retrieving wool, Serah and Noel are taught how to use the weather machine. They uncover the Faeryl, a monster sucking up Miniflan. The path to the Faeryl is blocked by a Long Gui, but Serah and Noel use the device again to remove it, as it doesn't like thunder. They defeat the Faeryl and discover that it accidentally ate a Fragment, which meant whatever Miniflan it would swallow would be transported to the Sunleth Waterscape. With fragment in hand and the paradox seemingly solved, the two return to the Sunleth Waterscape.

Enemies [ ]

The appearance of enemies depends on the area's weather. Defeating the Ochu during rainy weather, Long Gui during sunny weather, Immortal during cloudy weather, and Yomi during stormy weather, earns the player the "Big Game Hunter" achievement/trophy.

Weather can be changed by moving the levers on the weather machine in the hunter's camp.

Archylte Steppe is a single-loading map, meaning it only loads once per visit, or only when the player leaves the map, or saves then loads that file.

Quests [ ]

Grinding spots [ ]

Behemoth King and Megistotherian fighting each other.

The Archylte Steppe has a good grinding spot on the northern expanse near the passage to Mah'habara Subterra. A Behemoth King and Megistotherian are constantly fighting down the path from the Save Station, and all the player needs to do to get the pair to respawn is to backtrack a little and come back.

The pair gives an automatic preemptive strike, and rewards the player with 6,600 CP after each battle, 13,200 with the Growth Egg accessory. An easy strategy is to instantly Stagger the Behemoth King and then juggle it with a Commando's Launch skill, so it will not be able to replenish its HP.

In addition, players can battle groups of three Gorgonopsid for 1300 CP in a simple battle. Three groups of Gorgonopsid are arranged closely together and respawn on the western edge of the map, near the Uridimmu mark.

Post-game, if the player wants to do all the optional content and max out their Crystaria, fighting oretoises becomes the best way to accumulate Crystogen Points and gil. Killing an Adamantoise rewards the party with 40,000 CP with the possibility to double it for 80,000 with the Growth Egg, making them one of the best monsters for accumulating CP. Oretoises drop items that sell for good gil, and the big oretoises rarely drop Trapezohedrons needed for making the party's ultimate weapons. If Vanille has learned Death for her Saboteur role, it is possible to defeat the Adamantoise and the Adamantortoise with it, but the chances of successfully landing Instant Death are low. This is a way for even a low level party to defeat the oretoises, however.

Missions [ ]

Cie'th Stones give the party missions.

The Archylte Steppe is the main location for completing missions, which task the party with felling various monsters for various rewards. The system is reminiscent of the hunt system from Final Fantasy XII. Doing some missions dispels the palings that allow access to different parts of the steppe. Some Cie'th Stones become waystones for fast-travel after their mission is completed. Doing the missions on the "Cie'th Stone circle" on the steppe evolves most of the oretoises, the Adamantoises becoming the superboss Long Gui, which is not a mission on itself, but does unlock an achievement.

Chocobos [ ]

Riding [ ]

Vanille on a Gran Pulse chocobo.

To be able to ride a chocobo, the player needs to complete missions 12-14; to get access to these missions, the player must do missions 1-8 first. Afterwards, whenever the player wants to ride, they can walk up to one, and press to ride when the option comes up. The chocobos and only be used to the large open area.

When riding across the steppe, players have to avoid colliding with enemies, or they risk decreasing the chocobo's morale, represented by a feather on the morale meter. One morale drops with every collision, but it is gradually restored. An exception is when the player collides with the gargantuan oretoises, which depletes the morale completely. When this happens, the chocobo throws the rider off.

There are locations in the Archylte Steppe that can only be accessed with a chocobo marked by a yellow circle on the field map. Chocobos can leap over wide gaps or high cliffs, which usually hide pathways to hidden ruins. Chocobos are easily found in these locations marked by a feather on the map. When the player dismounts, the chocobo usually waits for their return.

Each character does specific things when the chocobo is idling, and so does the chocobo on some occasions. When Lightning overlooks the horizon, the chocobo will look at every corner ahead of it. Snow will pose with his head up high. Fang sits sideways, and when stopping, she will stretch out her arms and yawn. The chocobo Vanille rides will doze off, and she will try to rouse it. Hope and Sazh will caress the chocobo and the chocobo will return the gesture.

Treasure hunt [ ]

An exclamation mark signifies a treasure.

Occasionally, an exclamation mark pops up as the player rides a chocobo indicating a treasure is nearby. Players only need to follow the direction the chocobo is facing to find the treasure, which is easier to see if the chocobo is standing still. The twentieth treasure the player digs up is a Ribbon, which can only be obtained once. Finding the Ribbon earns the player the Gysahl Wreath achievement.

The treasures are in fixed locations in the dirt, not in the grass:

Immortal¶

Leave for the Historia Crux and come back right away. Tipur offers a quest to kill Yomi, while Myta, the girl tending the sheep offers a quest to kill Immortal. Make windy weather and depart for the blue “!” in Stonestump Wastelands to face off VS Immortal. Kill it for AF. ARCHYLTE STEPPE FRAGMENT - Fragment of Invincibilty (11/12) + 30000CP !

Enemy Tips :

For a super easy battle grab 2x Lightning Aegis from Circuitrons in Bresha Ruins AF300. Equip one of each onto your party members to become immune to lightning damage, which is heavily employed during the battle.

Immortal will summon a Centaurion Blade at the start of battle, and you can’t prevent it from happening. Immediately attempt to stick Deprotect and Deshell on Immortal, followed by one wave of Poison (if it doesn’t stick, no worries).

With the Blade flying around (the Blade can’t be provoked) Immortal will often launch a lightning attack for heavy damage. This also damages the Blade a bit in addition to granting it Bravery and Enthunder buffs.

Sticking Deprotect and Deshell on the Blade is easier due to a lower resistance, and then killing the Blade is but a question of time. With the Blade gone, stagger Immortal and then dismantle it.

Areas [ ]

A map of the Archylte Steppe (the top) and the Yaschas Massif (the bottom).

The Archylte Steppe is a vast plain connecting Vallis Media (where the party had their camp when they first arrived to Pulse), Faultwarrens, and the Mah'habara Subterra. Oretoises inhabit only these lands due to their immense size. In the west, there is a small corridor blocked off with a Cie'th Paling leading to the Font of Namva where chocobos live. To reach the Faultwarrens, unlocking chocobos is required, as the path leading there is located high. On the way to the Faultwarrens there is a small plain called Aggra's Pasture where the mighty Ochu resides, and further along the way there are ruins of the city of Haerii.

Nomad Camp - First a refresher on how the weather control device operates:

a) Left down, Right down = Sunny weather

b) Left down, Right up = Stormy weather

c) Left up, Right up = Windy weather

d) Left up, Right down = Rainy weather

We have already activated the red Cactuar stone in Plains of Eternity, that warps you to the Nomad Camp. Make the sunny weather and then head south from the nomad settlement, towards the crystal gate in Grave Ridge. Shortly before reaching the gate, there is a big stone in the shape of a Cactuar. Behind this stone is a concealed red Cactuar stone, uncover it with Moogle Hunt, then examine it for AF. ARCHYLTE STEPPE FRAGMENT - Azure Crystal (05/12) + 300CP !

Gigantuar Stone Number 1 (left). Gigantuar Stone Number 2 (right).

Gigantuar Stone Number 1 (left). Gigantuar Stone Number 2 (right).

Next, go southwest from the Nomad Camp to Stonestump Wastelands and look for a green Cactuar stone surrounded by cactii. Examine the green Cactuar stone to force a Gigantuar to spawn nearby, and then kill it. Two more to go.

Next, jump the gap to the west to enter Clearwater Marshes. Immediately next to the pond is a stone, and in its shadow is a concealed green Cactuar stone. Reveal it, then examine it to force a Gigantuar to spawn nearby. Kill the Gigantuar and that’s two down, one more to go.

Cactuar Stone Nr. 3 - Sunny Weather (left). Gigantuar Stone Number 3. - Sunny weather (right).

Now go directly W from this green Cactuar stone until you spot a concealed red Cactuar stone in the pond. Use R1 to reveal it, and then examine it for AF. ARCHYLTE STEPPE FRAGMENT - Amber Crystal (06/12) + 300CP!

Make rainy weather and return to Clearwater Marshes. Approximately southwest from the second green Cactuar stone you’ll find another concealed green Cactuar stone. Reveal it with R1, then examine it for a Gigantuar to spawn and promptly dispatch the latter. Killing all three Gigantuars removes the mist around the crystal gate in Grave Ridge, which can now be activated with a Wild Artefact - it unlocks the AF200 Vile Peaks timeline.

Cactuar Stone Number 4. Windy Weather (left). Cactuar Stone Number 5 - stormy weather (right).

Cactuar Stone Number 4. Windy Weather (left). Cactuar Stone Number 5 - stormy weather (right).

Make windy weather, and depart for the crystal gate in Grave Ridge, then turn west. See the small tornado? Inside it is a concealed gold Cactuar stone, so reveal it with R1. Examine it to be warped to the west area of the steppe, and you bag AF. ARCHYLTE STEPPE FRAGMENT - Forest Crystal (07/12) + 300CP !

Make stormy weather and depart to the southwest area of Clearwater Marshes. You just cannot miss the concealed, but electrified, red Cactuar stone. Reveal it with R1, examine it and receive AF. ARCHYLTE STEPPE FRAGMENT - Violet Crystal (08/12) + 300CP ! Chocobo riding is now enabled by talking to a girl next to the chocobo corral.

These great plains cover a vast expanse of Gran Pulse.

With an unobstructed view clear to the horizon, creatures can easily spot intruders into their territory. Perhaps this explains why so many beasts of the steppe are merciless predators—victors of the unending struggle for survival.

Long Gui¶

Final Fantasy XIII-2 - Long Gui Fight

Make sunny weather and saunter over to the enormous tortoise Long Gui in Sanctorium. Defeat him for AF. ARCHYLTE STEPPE FRAGMENT - Long Gui Fragment (09/12) + 30000CP !

Enemy Tips :

The hated Oretoise from FFXIII returns, but this time it’s much easier to take down. Triple SEN paradigm is a must!

When battle starts, add Deprotect and Deshell on one of Gui’s forelegs and start wailing on it. When you see the caption for Ultima onscreen, switch to triple SEN. Also do that if Long Gui attempts Quake, Bay, or stomps the ground with one of its forelegs.

After you drop one leg, repeat the procedure on the other leg. With the other leg also disabled, Long Gui plummets to the ground, unable to do anything. Now inflict Deprotect, Deshell, Imperil and POISON! Poison damage will remove at least 1 million of Gui’s HPs in the long run.

After debuffing is done, switch between RAV/RAV/COM and COM/COM/COM for big damage and keep raising Gui’s Chain Gauge until the turtle is KOed.

If you take too long, Long Gui rises back up with both forelegs fully restored. In that case just repeat what you’ve been doing.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 - Ochu Fight

Nomad Camp - The nomad chief Tipur offers a quest to kill Ochu. Make rainy weather and depart for the blue “!” in Clearwater Marshes to face off VS Ochu. After killing it you get AF. ARCHYLTE STEPPE FRAGMENT - Ochu Fragment (10/12) + 30000CP !

Enemy Tips :

SEN SEN SEN - maxed Silver Chocobo or Pulsework Gladiator with Mediguard

COM COM SEN - maxed Silver Chocobo or Pulsework Gladiator with Mediguard

RAV RAV SEN - maxed Silver Chocobo or Pulsework Gladiator with Mediguard

RAV RAV SEN - maxed Silver Chocobo or Pulsework Gladiator with Mediguard

MED MED SEN - maxed Silver Chocobo or Pulsework Gladiator with Mediguard

SAB SAB SYN - maxed Yakshini

Paradigms from to is all you need to win this battle. The SEN will draw all the attacks from Microchus and the big Ochu while you drive up its Chain Gauge. If your SEN comes into trouble regarding HP, switch to to heal.

Ignore Microchus and focus solely on Ochu until it’s staggered. Now promptly defeat it, and then kill the remaining Microchus.
