Can someone please post what the Key/Contoller bindings are for VR (especially HTC Vive)?

22 мая. 2018 в 13:33 Grip generally lets you pick things, equip your selected item from crafting menu. App menu is often an okay button but these two buttons should show when an option to use them to do something is available. Hold grip to light fires and save game if you’ve made a sleeping area.Ui buttons are left trackpad directional “touch” to navigate around, left and right trigger to switch tabs.
Up on right trackpad click jumps, down artificially crouches, left and right touch snap turns.
Left trackpad is movement, click up and hold to run (hope they fix this as this breaks trackpads)

Still trying to figure out how to do a lot, but to elaborate on what abra said:
Click right grip to pick up items in environment.
Hold right grip to eat food in environment.
Click right app menu to open survival guide (used to build structures).
Click up on right trackpad to jump.
Click/hold down on right trackpad to crouch.
Click left/right on right trackpad to snap turn.
Click left grip to equip lighter (does NOT light camp fires).
Hold left grip to .
Click left menu app to open 3D inventory (used to combine items).
Press left trackpad to move.
Hold left trackpad to sprint.
To light campfires, hold down the RIGHT grip button then place the left wand near fire (wtf guys).
When placing buildings, press left trigger to rotate.
Edit: To skin animals, hold down the right grip (I think, will check in a sec).
Edit 2: To throw weapons, hold the right trigger and move your wand in a throwing motion. It will be thrown WAY FARTHER than you'd expect, so be gentle or prepare to lose spears.
Edit 3: To drop logs or bodies, click the right trackpad down.
Edit 3: To stoke fires, click the right trackpad on fire.

1 - (Резервные копии обязательны!) Заменить друг на друга файлы в папке TheForest_Data файлами из папки TheForestVR_Data (либо просто переименовать, даже лучше)
2 - (Резервные копии обязательны!) Переименовать .exe файлы TheForest и TheForestVR друг на друга.
3 - Создать ярлык Переименованного файла TheForest на столе (Важно!).
Теперь о нюансах. SteamVR должен быть отключен. Если ваш SteamVR запущен, то переделанный TheForest может не запуститься.
Выключаем SteamVR, запускаем TheForest с нового ярлыка (либо стандартный через Steam, где жмем на ОК в предупреждении что игра может и на VR, но вы запускаете ее в обычном режиме). Ваш TheForest запускается сам и запускает SteamVR.
Быстренько создаем зал и приглашаем друга (он должен произвести со своей игрой те же манипуляции). Ваш Друг принимает приглашение, и его TheForest запускается сам и запускает SteamVR.
Важно! - Долго в зале ожидания задерживаться нельзя, так как после некоторого времени, игра не реагирует на команды контроллера. Ваш стандартный запуск TheForest и TheForestVR теперь заменены местами. Не путайте.
I have the Oculus Rift. At one point I was trying out the VR for fun and it was working. I was in game for only about 5 minutes. Just wanted to see what it looked like in VR. Later I went back to The Forest in VR and I couldn't even select Single Player. In fact, I couldn't select anything. I've done some reading of people saying "try this. try that" and nothing seemed to work.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get The Forest to play in VR??

When the main menu comes up, I see both hand controllers. The right handed controller has a 'laser light' to show me where the pointer is. I put it on Single Player but none of the buttons on either left or right controller do anything. However, if I point to Single Player and grab my XBox controller, it will allow me to load up the game. That's all it will do though. Once I'm in, I can't pick anything up with either the hand controllers or the XBox controller. I can open the survival guide with the right controller but I can't close it or put it away nor place anything on the ground.

If I click on The Forest from steam library, it gives me 2 options. Start in normal mode or start in VR mode. Of course I selected VR mode. It takes me to the main menu of The Forest and that's as far as it gets. Again, it will not let me click on Single Player (or MP for that matter).
It's so bizarre because the very first time I tried it worked and I was in the game for about 5 minutes. Long enough for me to grab the axe, food, pills, and drinks. I stepped out of the plane and knocked open some suitcases. I even chopped down a tree. Since then though I can't get into the game.
Right click the game in your Steam list and choose the "launch in SteamVR" option.
Saying that, it launches in VR mode for me regardless (maybe due to previously doing the above, though not sure).
There are two listings for the game. Scroll all the way down in your library and find the Virtual Reality section. Launch that version of the game.
If you are using Oculus Rift, be sure to have the Oculus app running before you try to launch the game.
Is this only on pc? Or is vr support on the ps4 also?
Walkie talkies are terrible. I just use steam voice chat and leave the Walkie in the bag.
I agree but when there many players coming in or out it is easier I think
Honestly, the walkie talkie is the only thing I never really touch in this game.
It was a local server I hosted for random people to discover the game so it was easier to use talkie ^
