The issue with Mac for gaming, is that it is utterly restrictive, everytime there is a tiny patch or a major one for that sake, the Mac will have issues.. (you see this even with games, that have a priority for mac)
Mac OS however, is pretty good at other things!! just as Linux is better at some things, but when we talk gaming, Mac is really not a good fit most of the time. With the current direction Apple is taking, there will be no gaming at all for Mac in the in future (ARM) other than apple produced games.
It is a sad development, but Apple does not like to be part of something, they want exclussivity, simplicity and more focus on other fields than gaming (that is fine btw)
I know some people have a Mac because they like its easy usage, some use it for work/school, but my advice will always be (while it is still possible) to bootcamp win on it.. I have Win, Linux and Mac on my computer (you can install any OS on any computer. you don´t have to buy a overpriced mac computer, to use mac OS)
Hopefully down the road, maybe in full release, you will see supprot for Mac.

Play Valheim on Mac with BootCamp

Mention, that for MacOS versions prior to OS X El Capitan 10.11 you will need to create bootable Windows USB.

Yes, you are correct. Quite frankly, we decided to cease Mac support (some time ago) due to the small customer base. We're a small team and ensuring MacOS users an experience on par with Windows/Linux is a commitment we would have to invest a lot of development time into.
That being said, thank you for the well-wishing. We do want to release Valheim on MacOS and hope to do so in the future, but not right now, sorry.

wow, what a shame! such good reviews, i just bought the new Mac hoping i woukld be able to firstly play the game! well done however. I would definitely buy and play this game on mac (with M1 chip) if it becomes available. Play Valheim on Mac with Vortex.gg or Nvidia Geforce Now
Update 1: Nvidia Geforce Now supports Valheim! Now you can enjoy the game on an old Windows PC, Mac, Nvidia Shield, even on Chromebook and Android!
Update 2: Vortex will start supporting Valheim soon! Play the advanced game on an old Windows PC, Mac and Android!
