Как запустить no mans sky в vr

Обновлено: 05.07.2024

It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

The search term must be at least 3 characters long

So if your an archivist and want to run NMS in VR from he standalone installer then you'll need to add "-HmdEnable 1" to the end of the EXE in a shortcut. Or launch it with the argument form run command.

Example: "E:\GOG Games\No Man's Sky\Binaries\NMS.exe" -HmdEnable 1

If you dont want to have steam then look into OpenComposite it will give you a openvr_api.dll and let you go VR steamless.

The latest patch has allowed all settings to be enhanced and HBAO on without much (if any) reprojection when using a proper VR system. Otherwise see attached picture for VR settings on potato rigs.

Thanks but to techie for me to do.

I dont understyand why either GOG nor Hello Games dont set it up like this in the first place?? Why to players have to fluff around figuring out hacks like this to get it running as sold in Windows PC WHD VR?

EDIT second thoughts see next post.

Mmmm LOL not so techie as I thought

FYI so I checked from the NMS OpenVR on my Start Menu and found the short cut does have this set in the "Target" box ok. The "Start" box only goes as far as "binaries". but doesnt work its been freezing that window once opened. screen print as attached

LWJCarroll: . FYI so I checked from the NMS OpenVR on my Start Menu. I'm on Windows 10 and use launch apps on the desktop, never skim the start-menu anymore. i had no idea they created this shortcut for you at install.. my bad guys!

Just for clarification: OpenComposite has been updated in the last few days. SteamVR no longer needs to be installed to play No Man's Sky VR.

I do have some odd controler problems (Oculus Rift with Touch Controlers), but then I didn't update NMS for now, and am still playing 2.04, so YMMV.

Edit: Just read through the commit notes. Bindings are broken with OpenComposite. So, I can stare at the scenery in awe, but the the controller problems will need attention from the OpenComposite dev(s).

No Man's Sky

2019 в 9:51 How To Get Gamepad Working In VR & Configuration In General

Ok, after much fiddling, I've discovered where the issue lies; NMS is pulling it's gamepad configuration from an external Steam plug in. You can see it open this if you configure the keys from the 2d client, but the options lock up entirely in VR. Here is the work around;

* Start SteamVR
* Click the Options icon (3 horizontal bars, top left)
* Select Devices > Controller Settings
* Click "Show More Applications
* Select "No Man's Sky"
* Make sure "Current Controller" on the right is set to "Gamepad"
* You now have multiple options. You can import a community binding as a basic template, or edit the default from under "Current Binding".
* Once happy with it, exit the window and launch NMS. You should now have a working gamepad.

The 2d version skips all of the above and directly opens into the editing window for the Current Binding.

Hope that helps!

16 авг. 2019 в 21:51 Cool, thank you very much for this! Do you know how I could export the default-binding of the gamepad when NMS is player without VR? Or do you know if there is an according community binding and where to get it? Again, thank you very much! 17 авг. 2019 в 0:19 I was debating on getting VR for this game, but I wanted to use my xbox controller instead of the motion controls with it. I am guessing this is the way to make it work? 17 авг. 2019 в 6:10 Thanks, still figuring out a good key binding but this makes VR in NMS great. 17 авг. 2019 в 8:35 Cool, thank you very much for this! When you get to the multiple options part, the community bindings are below; the two dated today (the 17th) both seem to work, except for a few bugs with NMS itself such as not being able to use it on the title screen.

Yes, although I'm using an older DK2 kit, so I don't know if you can over-ride the VR handsets for more modern systems. The gamepad is still listed in game, it just has no controls until you load a profile, so I assume this should enable it. 17 авг. 2019 в 22:42 I've been trying this, using DK2 and xbox controller. However, the bindings are still empty and locked in game. 17 авг. 2019 в 23:41 Cool, thank you very much for this! Again - thank you very much! Unfortunately it still seems to have bugs: I chose one configuration dated 17th, which had the default-bindings for movement on the left stick - but it just does not work. Jumping (on the A-button) works, but not moving.

Obviously I could try other configurations, but honestly my free time is scarce enough, so I'll just play something else until there is news on this front.

Yep this is my exact issue as well all buttons work ok in VR, I have even created a custom binding with everything how I want but the SteamVR bindings dont actually allow the thumbsticks to be "Joysticks" which you need for steering.

Hopefully it gets patched, not sure why there are 2 places to set controller bindings.

Also the offical non-VR Xbox One controller bindings work perfectly, it's just in VR it fails.

18 авг. 2019 в 1:34 Doesnt work for me (Pimax 5K+/ Index controllers/ xbox pad). With Index enabled it just crashes at startup, xbox gamepad works in pancake mode, but not in VR. Tried all the above suggestions, only keyboard kind of works in VR. 18 авг. 2019 в 1:41 indeed, only the buttons work, and the joysticks wont, so you cant AIM, FLY or ROTATE, or is there somone who knows how to get those to work in VR? 18 авг. 2019 в 12:36

For everyone having diffculty;

I don't know what headsets you're using, but I'm on the older DK2 and I've uploaded my settings which allow movement and camera view. Look for the settings under my name.

Unfortunately there's a slight inertia on movement, and I can't aim the multitool with this. So it's still not perfect yet. The fiddling continues.

Brilliant, thanks Titler! That's the closest yet I have had to it working.

What is working: buttons and joysticks on the controller!
What isnt working: I'm facing backwards? If I look down I can see my blaster facing backwards and if I fire it it goes behind me. Except when I move, WASD works as expected.

Very weird, and so still unplayable, but almost there!

That might be because the VR camera has got stuck pointing in the wrong direction; you can reset it, to be looking where ever the headset is right now, by using this option in game;

(sorry for the dual screen, but that's VR for you!)

This is common to VR games, and happens in Elite Dangerous for instance too; There's supposed to be a way to map it to a button for NMS via the Steam Config as discussed above, but I've not yet found one that will make it stick in game. I'm having to do it via Options every time.

I also haven't been able to get the exotool to track where the camera / target pip would be either, so I'm not sure what that's following now. It may be expecting the full Oculus controllers?

I was wondering if there is a way to run the game No Mans Sky in vr mode instead of desktop play. I cant find anything about it online.

I had to move the install to my OS drive for it to work, seemed like a weird fix but it worked. On my non OS drive, it would just crash immediately when selecting the VR option on startup.
