This issue mostly occurs when certain Windows editions do not have Windows Media Player and the necessary codecs installed. For example, this is common for Windows N users.

Windows:
The Media Feature Pack for N versions of Windows is available for download as an Optional Feature.
To install the Media Feature Pack, navigate to

(Windows 7)
Start > Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows features on or off
(Windows 8+)
Settings > Apps > Apps and Features > Optional Features > Add a Feature

And then locate the Media Feature Pack in the list of available Optional Features.

Note Although you are not prompted to restart your computer, you must restart in order to successfully complete installation of the Media Feature Pack.

If the official Windows Media Feature pack didn't resolve the issue, users have found better success with these unofficial downloads:

Go to Device Manager (you can use Run and type devmgmt.msc or just search for Device Manager)
Go to Display Adapters
Right-click on the one that is NOT your AMD adapter, and choose 'disable device'

Disable your Steam Overlay. Head to Steam > Settings > In-Game > Uncheck "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game".

Remove headphones and/or mic before starting the game.

Run the game windowed by going to Settings > Fullscreen > Off.

Uninstall any additional Display Adapters such as Citrix.

Unplug any USB controllers or devices

If the audio is not playing at all:

Nvidia: Go to your Device Manager and DISABLE Nvidia Virtual Audio Device from the "Sound, video and game controllers heading." Then, restart your system.

Xonar Audio: Set the number of audio-channels in the Xonar DGX Audio Center to 6 channels.

Like with The Complex, I get a black screen when I launch the game, nothing happens.
I played Late Shift just fine, but this game, and The Complex, just don't work.

The link you posted above for the WIndows 7 codec download (which is the same you post in all your games) leads to an invalid page.

I can play all the videos from the game's folder without any problems, so it's not really a codec issue. I can watch all files (both with VLC, and Windows Media Player), with no issues whatsoever.

Installing the LAV filters as suggested above did nothing.

For The Complex, I used your support email address a couple of weeks ago, and never heard anything back.

Can you please look into this?

Thank you for reporting the dead link. Microsoft have appeared to drop website support for Windows 7 features.

I've updated the post with more relevant information and I've removed the codec pack link that installs software without your permission

The issue comes from Video playback which relies on Windows' default Media Player codec, which doesn't always update automatically on Windows 7 or get installed.

Игра не запускается

Игра вылетает на рабочий стол без ошибок.
О: Скорее всего проблема в поврежденных файлах игры. В подобном случае рекомендуется переустановить игру, предварительно скопировав все сохранения. В случае если игра загружалась из официального магазина за сохранность прогресса можно не переживать.

I Saw Black Clouds не работает на консоли.
О: Обновите ПО до актуальной версии, а так же проверьте стабильность подключения к интернету. Если полное обновление прошивки консоли и самой игры не решило проблему, то стоит заново загрузить игру, предварительно удалив с диска.

Ошибка 0xc000007b.


О: Есть два пути решения.
 Первый — полная переустановка игры. В ряде случаев это устраняет проблему.
Второй состоит из двух этапов:

Ошибка 0xc0000142.


О: Чаще всего данная ошибка возникает из-за наличия кириллицы (русских букв) в одном из путей, по которым игра хранит свои файлы. Это может быть имя пользователя или сама папка в которой находится игра. Решением будет установка игры в другую папку, название которой написано английскими буквами или смена имени пользователя.

Ошибка 0xc0000906.


О: Данная ошибка связана с блокировкой одного или нескольких файлов игры антивирусом или “Защитником Windows”. Для её устранения необходимо добавить всю папку игры в исключени. Для каждого антивируса эта процедура индивидуально и следует обратиться к его справочной системе. Стоит отметить, что вы делаете это на свой страх и риск. Все мы любим репаки, но если вас часто мучает данная ошибка — стоит задуматься о покупке игр. Пусть даже и по скидкам, о которых можно узнать из новостей на нашем сайте.

Отсутствует msvcp 140.dll/msvcp 120.dll/msvcp 110.dll/msvcp 100.dll


О: Ошибка возникает в случае отсутствия на компьютере корректной версии пакета Microsoft Visual C++, в который и входит msvcp 140.dll (и подобные ему). Решением будет установка нужной версии пакета.

  • Нажимаем на Windows + R;
  • Вводим команду“regsvrЗ2 msvcp140.dll”(без кавычек);
  • Нажимаем “ОК”;
  • Перезагружаем компьютер.

О: Все ошибки начинающиеся с индекса 0xc0000009 (например 0xc0000009a, где на месте “а” может находиться любая буква или цифра) можно отнести к одному семейству. Подобные ошибки являются следствием проблем с оперативной памятью или файлом подкачки.


Перед началом выполнения следующих действий настоятельно рекомендуем отключить часть фоновых процессов и сторонних программ, после чего повторно попробовать запустить I Saw Black Clouds .
Увеличиваем размер файла подкачки:

  • Клик правой кнопкой на значку компьютера, а далее: "Дополнительные параметры системы" - "Дополнительно" - "Быстродействие" - "Дополнительно" - "Виртуальная память" - "Изменить".
  • Выбираем один диск, задаем одинаковый размер.
  • Перезагружаемся.



Размер файла подкачки должен быть кратен 1024. Объём зависит от свободного места на выбранном локальном диске. Рекомендуем установить его равным объему ОЗУ.
Если ошибка 0xc0000009а сохранилась, необходимо проверить вашу оперативную память. Для этого нужно воспользоваться функциями таких программ как MemTest86, Acronis, Everest.

By playing the first time, you will probably get this one first. In the end of the game, Denial and Acceptance levels should not be at 100%, and Denial should be less than Acceptance. Just choose whatever options you like. This ending would also unlock if you just play the game by constantly spamming Tab button to skip the scenes and to let the game decide for you.

You should gain 100% of Acceptance and have low Denial level. Choose options that give you Acceptance points and avoid options that give you Denial points:

Automatically unlocks if you got previous endings related achievements.

There're a lot of ways to start the Ghost story. You can do it by following some of these decisions:

1. When Kristina lies in a bed and hears a knock: Get up → Open the door → Switch on the light

2. During a visit to Dominique, after a hypnosis session:
— Do you believe in ghosts? Yes
— Do you believe in the afterlife? Yes

If Kristina used a memory card and watched a video with Emily after leaving Dominique, then you're on a correct path.

Unmissable. This will unlock after watching a flashback from 18th century.

Nonconsensual Search the bedroom without permission During a visit to Mattew, make him kick Kristina and Charlotte out. In the beginning of conversation, just choose Confront option over Lie twice. The achievement will unlock during the revisit. Interpret Discover a drunk voicemail from Charlotte

To achieve this one, you should get Unfinished ending on the Ghost path and stay in a good relationship with Charlotte:

Surgeon path, part 1 (Realist, Wrong, Jack, Tough, Escape) Realist Delve deep into a dark version of the story

Actually it's much easier to start the Ghost story than the Surgeon one. To avoid ghosts related plot you should skip everything ghosts related:

1. When Kristina lies in a bed and hears a knock: Listen → Go back to sleep

2. During a visit to Dominique, after a hypnosis session:
— Do you believe in ghosts? No
— Do you believe in the afterlife? No

If Kristina used a memory card and found a password protected video on it after leaving Dominique, then you're on a correct path.

1. When Kristina sees a man: Look

2. When Kristina runs away from a man: Right

It's not necessary to die in two different ways, you can just choose Look option twice in a row.

During the last visit to Alexander, when Kristina tries to tell him about William, Alexander asks if anyone else thinks the way she does. Choose Jack option over Avoid. The achievement will unlock later, before entering an abandoned building at night. This would also unlock even by choosing Avoid if the relationship level with Jack is low. Thanks @Fluffy Bunny for the addition.

Tough Round two, choose to fight the second guy

After defeating a bad guy, go and fight another one: Get the other guy → Get him

Unmissable. This will unlock near the end of the story.

You should see a ghost while being captive alongside Charlotte on the Surgeon path. For that, you should end up on the Surgeon path, but still believe in ghosts:

Ошибки загрузки/обновления

Проверьте стабильность подключения к интернету, а также скорость загрузки. При слишком высоком пинге или низкой пропускной способности обновление может выдавать ошибки.

Если магазин или лончер I Saw Black Clouds не завершает обновления или выдает ошибки, то переустановите саму программу. При этом все скачанные вами игры сохранятся.

Запустите проверку целостности данных игры.

Проверьте наличие свободного места на том диске, на котором установлена игра, а также на диске с операционной системой. И в том и в другом случае должно быть свободно места не меньше, чем занимает игра на текущий момент. В идеале всегда иметь запас около 100Гб.
