Doom Reborn — изначально модификация для Doom 3, воссоздающая на движке игры первые две части серии. На днях она переросла в отдельную версию, не требующую для запуска триквел.
Идея мододела под ником gamehacker состояла в том, чтобы перенести классические уровни Doom и Doom 2 на движок id Tech 4, сохранив дух классических игр. Doom Reborn использует исходную геометрию первых двух частей, поэтому вы по-прежнему будете лицезреть квадратное окружение и плоские стены. Однако световые эффекты и трёхмерные противники прибыли из Doom 3.
Doom Reborn ещё не закончена — свежая версия 1.61 помечена как предварительная «бета», куда перенесён не весь запланированный контент. Мод доступен для загрузки на Mod DB. Обратите внимание: чтобы использовать сохранения, нужно поставить патч, включённый в новую сборку.

This is a step by step guide on how to install the Doom Reborn Pre Beta Version 1.6 Saves Patch
1. Locate the "DoomReborn Saves Patch.zip" provided with Pre-Beta Version 1.6
2. These are the two files you'll be copying to the Doom 3 folder where you installed "Doom Reborn Pre-Beta Version 1.6" Open another window to locate your Doom 3 folder
3. You probably installed Doom 3 in your "C:\Program Files\Doom 3" folder so follow these steps to finding your folder
4. As seen in this image I've made my own folder with a copy of my Doom 3 Base folder and named it Doom Reborn 1.6 you can do the same, This allows you to keep another copy of Doom 3 for other mods that could have problems with Doom Reborn
5. Once you have your folder open go back to the zip file to drag and drop the copy
6. Highlight these two files and drag and drop them to the Doom 3 folder
7. You'll be asked a couple of times to merge and replace the already existing files just follow the steps and Yes\Continue, It's ok you obviously want to replace these files
8. Again tick the box and click "Move and Replace"
9. If you Actually have UAC "User Account Control" turned on for some reason you'll get this message as well, Again just tick the box and click continue, Then I'd advise turning off User Account Control after finishing the setup process, Because that User Account Control is just wrong -.-
10. That's you, all done, the process is the same for the other no saves patch provided, It's essentially a back up of the files you just replaced, The reason you'd maybe want to revert back some time is because weapons don't carry over from level to level yet, The saves patch is still work in progress.

This is a step by step guide of how to install Doom Reborn Pre-Beta 1.0 and newer
The version i'm using in the images is Pre-Beta Version 1.2
Note Pre-Beta Version 1.1 uses the old modified WinRAR self extraction installer
You may want to refer to the setup guide for Alpha Version 0.81-0.841
But both guides should still help you ether way
Doom Reborn Requires The Original Doom 3 To Play and is NOT Compatible with BFG Edition
Doom 3 also needs to be patched to 1.3.1 for full compatibility
Doom Reborn will launch on Doom 3 1.2 and 1.3
Health Vials and Armour shards can freak out and randomly not work if using 1.2
Doom Reborn is gradually moving towards a complete standalone game which means in future
you'll no longer require Doom 3 to play
But for the time being You Require Doom 3 Version 1.3.1 To Play
Step 1: Start
This is the opening window of the installer,
Simply click "Next" to continue
Step 2: Important Message
This window contains an important message which simply states,
That you need to select your Doom 3 folder
and that the game can't be installed where ever you want yet
Step 3: Finding your Doom 3 folder
Refer to the next 2 images
Image 1 of "Step 3"
You can type the address if you know it or click browse to find it
Image 2 of "Step 3"
click the triangle on the left of the folders to expand them
So click computer,
Then click the drive you have Doom 3 installed on
Then click the folder Doom 3 is in
and finely click the Doom 3 folder to select it and click ok
And then click install after the browse window closes
Step 4: Extra choices (Desktop Shortcut)
Simply untick the check box if you don't want a Desktop Shortcut by clicking on the "tick" symbol
Step 5: Installing
You don't need to do anything from here except wait :)
(This doesn't take very long at all)
Step 6: Finished
From here you have 3 options,
1. You can Launch the game
2. View Read Me
3. Visit our site
This is a Step By Step Guide To Install The Mod Using the Current Version 0.841 and Previous Versions too 0.81 From Versions Alpha 1 - 0.80 There was no installer But this method will still help you

A new installer is made for Pre Beta Version 1.0 I will be updating this installer guide at a later date, But this should still help you But the new installer is very simple to followThis is the step by step guide to install the Doom Reborn Mod (Currently)
In this guide i'll be installing the current version to date Alpha Version 0.841 (24/06/2014)
This method can be applied to any version from 0.81-0.841
Versions alpha 1 - 0.80 didn't have the installer
But this method should still help you :)
Step 1 : DoomReborn.exe
After opening "DoomReborn_0841.zip"
Start by extracting the "DoomReborn.exe"
To The "Doom 3" Folder, This will be the new method to launching the mod unless you really still want
to load the mod using the Doom 3.exe
If you need help locating your Doom 3 Folder (Move to Step 3 "Locating your Doom 3 Folder")
Step 2 : Setup (Using the Installer)
Open "DoomReborn Alpha Version 0841.exe"
If you have WinRAR installed you can right click "DoomReborn Alpha Version 0841.exe" And
Open the installer like any .Zip or .Rar file and extract the "DoomReborn" folder to your "Doom 3"
Folder
Click "Accept" after reading the message
Click "Browse" To locate your Doom 3 Folder
(Each Drive and Folder Will Open In A Drop Down Menu Style, Step 3 Will Also Show You How To Copy The
Address As well)
Step 3 : Locating Your Doom 3 Folder
Open your start menu and click on "Computer"
Go to your drive you have Doom 3 Installed to
If you only have 1 drive it'll be "Local Disk (C:)" unless it has been renamed in which case it'll be
"Something (C:)" Unless someone has actually changed your default Drive Letter
But Anyway Carrying on
Unless you have said otherwise during your Doom 3 Installation it'll be in "Program Files (x86)" for a 64bit user
or "Program files" for 32bit users since they wont have a (x86)
If its not in program files at all you've installed it else where and probably in the root directory (where you'll open the program files folder itself
You can highlight the address and copy it for the installer as shown in the next 2 images
This is what the "Browse" option from the installer looks like
After the previous images you should find this very simple to understand now
Step 4 : Installing Doom Reborn
After setting your install path click "Extract"
If you already have a previous version of "Doom Reborn" Installed click "yes to all"
From This point the installer will complete and automatically close
You may even see windows pop up a coping window due to files being stored in a temp folder
in some cases.
