Quake dimension of the past секреты

Обновлено: 06.07.2024

Secrets are special areas in Quake that are not accessible by straightforward means. Secrets contain valuable items such as Ammo, Weapons, Powerups, or even Level Exits to unique maps called "Secret Levels". Secrets can be identified by dissimilarities that disrupt patterns in a level. For example, in E1M1: the Slipgate Complex, there exists a row of lights illuminating identical textures on the right side of the first corridor, but it is unusual as one of the textures is different due to being illuminated by a blinking light instead of a constant one. Hitting the dissimilar texture will cause it to open, revealing a cache of Shells. A message will appear and a sound effect will play every time a Secret has been found. Every level has a counter for the amount of Secrets that have been discovered by somebody.

Secrets are inherited from id Software’s previous titles; notably, Doom and the earlier Wolfenstein 3D. New features such as freelook and jumping lead to new ideas for Secrets.

Happy 20th to Quake @idsoftware! As a gift to the fans, we created a new episode of the game

Just in case some of you don't know how to install this:

*install QuakeSpasm or your source port of choice

*create a folder named dopa in your main Quake folder

*unpack the contents of the rar archive you downloaded to that folder

*launch Quake, lower the console and type "game dopa" (without the quotes)

or right click Quake in your Steam Library, select Set Launch Options and type "-game dopa" (without quotes)

I use darkplaces and I have no idea how to run this.

Szerk: never mind, figured it out, I'm an idiot.

Отредактировано Zaxx; 24 июн. 2016 в 11:53 24 июн. 2016 в 12:08 I just played it through Dark Places, pretty awesome 24 июн. 2016 в 13:03

I was unable to run it with DarkPlaces on Linux but it runs pretty nice via QuakeSpasm on Linux regardless.

Edit: Nevermind, "./quakespasm-sdl2 -game dopa" solved the issue for me.

I installed Dark Places, and that's working fine..

I downloaded the mod, extracted the content, and put it in a folder named "dopa."

Yet its still not working. When I type "game dopa" (minus the quotations), the
game simply says that its an "unknown command." I've tried typing "game dopa",
or just "dopa" and nothing.

What am I doing wrong? I've followed the instruction on here and from the article
to the letter.

Here's how I did it after receiving the same error:

- make a shortcut to darkplaces.exe
- go to properties
- add "-game dopa" to the target path as a launch command
- profit.

I'm having some strange issues with dopa and the Darkplaces mod. When I turn on the mod, it works fine, the demos play, etc. But if I try to start a new game it drops me in some water and I can't control my character at all, it just sort of floats up, down and backwards slowly.

IE, its some weird physics/clipping issue that makes it impossible to play the mod. Even turning on "noclip" in the console doesn't allow me to exit the water or interact with the level. I literally can not swim up, even with clipping off.

EDIT: I tried using a different source-port to select the difficulty and save the game, and then copied the save file over to Darkplaces. the result was. Strange? For whatever reason, the grunts' models were long, white "tubes" and the dogs were floating nailguns.

IDK why my version of Darkplaces is having so many issues with this mod. It runs the demos within the mod without a problem, but the second I try to play it, it ♥♥♥♥♥ itself.

Despite not being developed by id Software themselves, the episode is officially released in the 2021 release, being developed by a fellow Zenimax-owned company that has previously co-operated with id Software as well as Nightdive Studios. The episode also contains many allusions and callbacks to Quake proper, such as the re-appearance of the Dopefish easter egg, along with the final level of the episode being almost identical to Shub-Niggurath's Pit.

It is the fourth episode (third 'expansion') in the Quake Remaster release (following Quake Mission Pack 2: Dissolution of Eternity), and is followed by the newest episode, Dimension of the Machine.
