P.S. there will be long periods of inactivity on this blog due to my other responsibilities, I apologize for that.

How to earn free stardust

Your primary focus should be unlocking all 30 spots on your cat list, which you’ll need to grind for stardust to do. Grinding involves scanning for a cat code, sending that cat out on an adventure, and then (if you don’t have 2 spots in your cat list open anymore) releasing the cat, rinse and repeat. The dream catcher recharges 1 scan every 5 minutes and can store up to 5 scans, so it should be fully recharged every 25 minutes or so.

To release a cat, go to your cat list and click the manage button at the bottom of the screen. I recommend toggling the favorite star on the cats you want to keep so you don’t accidentally release them.

Hopefully when your cat adventures, it comes back with a flower (it can also encounter other stray cats, which you should adopt to send on another adventure; other players cats, which you should always visit the room of as it gives you 1 free stardust; coins; accessories; or furniture) Flowers can be given to other player’s cats in the flower exchange (located in your menu screen) which will earn you 10 stardust per flower.

Although I recommend you keep 2 spots open in your cat list, the rest should be occupied by cats you plan to keep for a while. Cats in your list that have all hearts filled up will earn you 10 stardust upon the daily login, which is extremely valuable once you have around 30 cats will full hearts (this will earn you 300 stardust every day you log in) To increase your cat’s hearts, feed it daily until you find a food it loves (indicated by it’s reaction after feeding, it will sparkle) feeding it this food will usually give you a heart. If the favorite food doesn’t give you a heart, or you use the wrong food, try using a purrfect cat treat (cats who are happy will earn you these treats upon login) Some days will not result in a new heart, but don’t be discouraged, simply try again the next day!

You can also earn stardust by completing achievements. I’m currently in the process of posting a guide for those!

Stardust

Stardust is the premium currency, obtained through irl money purchase or by grinding, and daily rewards, the latter two being the primary methods. Instructions on stardust grinding is located in the how to play section above.

What can stardust be used for?

- Unlocking new adventure areas! The first unlock-able area (forest of serenity, for 100 stardust) drops flowers very frequently, you should save up and purchase it first so you can obtain stardust more quickly. The first 1000 stardust adventure (ecliptic plain) drops accessories, furniture, and mythical stray cats themed off of the current horoscope, so I recommend unlocking it as soon as possible as well as to not miss out. The last 1000 stardust area might also have limited time drops, though it’s currently unconfirmed.

- Increasing your dream cat limit, up to a maximum of 30 cats! Cats can go on an adventure every 7 hours, so keeping more cats means more adventures that don’t rely on the scan-and-release method, and having a cat at full hearts will earn you 10 stardust upon login (this only applies to cats in your list, making list spots even more valuable!) Every new spot will cost 5 stardust more than the last.

- Purchase a cat hotel! These can store even more cats past your 20 cat limit. Each hotel costs 1000 stardust and can hold up to 10 cats. Cats in the hotel can’t be interacted with beyond withdrawing them from the hotel or deleting them. When you withdraw a cat, it’s adventure timer will always be set to 7 hours. You shouldn’t worry about the hotel until after you’ve purchased all your regular cat list spots. When I do my daily adventures with my main cats, I temporarily place the last 2 on my list (after adventuring with them) in the hotel so if I encounter any strays during adventure, I can adopt and adventure with them before releasing, thus not wasting an adventure on a stray cat that I’d have to release anyways. If you do this, make sure to always place those last 2 cats with max happiness back into your cat list before the daily reset, otherwise they won’t give you their 10 bonus stardust.

- Breed your cats! Breeding will result in a random mashup of the parent’s colors and physical features, and will cost more stardust if you’re trying to breed cats with rarer features. Breeding can be useful if you have many cats with event features taking up space, since you can breed until you have 1 cat carrying multiple features on it for you. Some features can only be obtained by breeding certain features together (ex. breeding two cats with sakura petals can result in a baby with thousand sakura storm)

- Use the gachapon to get random accessories! There are multiple gachas, you can view them by clicking the arrow to the right of the machine. I recommend always using the 10 item roll since it guarantees that you’ll get 1 good item. If you used your real money to purchase stardust, you can use it for a special daily option that gives you 10 items (1 good one guaranteed) for a much lower price than usual.

- Purchase items from the exclusive shop! This is a new feature that I’m not familiar with, but from what I can observe: Every week, a new outfit is posted, and you can purchase the full set at a discounted price. Unless you only want a single piece from the set, I recommend always buying the full set (if you’re going to buy it at all) You can still purchase the outfit from the week before, but at a very inflated price. After 2 weeks, the set retires (although it’s possible sets might return in the future, I’m not sure)

- Special furniture and accessories can be found in their respective shops. I would recommend holding off on purchasing these until you have the important things unlocked first, though.

- Potions, which can be accessed in the food & potion shop in their respective tab. Rename potion does what it’s name suggests. Energy potion resets your cat’s adventure timer to zero, which could be useful for event adventures if the event is about to end. Love potion and catnip don’t seem to be worth spending stardust on.

About the game

Dream Cat Paradise is a collection style pet game that allows you to collect dream cats via scanning QR or bar codes. Codes normally produce the same cat when scanned multiple times and/or by different players, so this blog was created to catalog these codes. In doing so, we aim to give players resources for collecting, planning for, and breeding their cats.
