The Caves is the first area in Beneath. It is large cave that is filled with rocks, red crystals, and remnants of U.H.D.F operations.

Description
The Solitary Prisoner is a very muscular prisoner that is in solitary confinement. Hitting one of the two red buttons in the Prison will release the Solitary Prisoner from his cell, but will break out of his cell regardless once the enemy count becomes too low. He uses his bare fists to fight, as he can propel both the player and enemies meters away from a single punch. He has high health and high damage. Just like the Katana Boss and Blackbeard, his bones are invincible, making dismemberment impossible. He is immune to brain damage for the most part. Because the Solitary Prisoner is in a constant state of rage, the first attack that the Solitary Prisoner will almost certainly do is a lunge attack when he gets near. The Solitary Prisoner is unusual compared to the other bosses as he can actually become befriended, unlike the others. He and the Muscular Cowboy are currently the largest scenario enemies in the game.
Caves II
The second floor of the Caves is slightly different to the previous one, featuring a lower floor. It also introduces a new enemy, the Minion, as well as having more enemies and more rooms. This area is also entered after defeating The Trickster.
Caves I
Caves I has the player(s) begin in the elevator. Several shortcuts are attainable here, including for Crystal Caverns and Ruins.
Caves I is also the area where the Island Altar appears after The Necromancer is killed for the first time. The Altar has the Island Artefact, a key item into reaching the Islands.
After killing the Jerk, a bloody mass will appear. Through 4 runs, the bloody mass will hatch, with bloody footprints leading away. This is the step that leads to reaching the Trickster without redoing the steps before.
Caves III
The third floor of the Caves is very slightly different, only having more rooms and more enemies.
The Solitary Prisoner is the boss of the Prison. He is in the solitary block in his cell.
